You only brought it in 2019-20. You should‘ve asked us Australians about it. No better example of how bad the VAR is than that one game between Newcastle and Melbourne.

VAR: Why is it bad?

I agree with all that except Canberra should be its own team. After a few years of rebuild, Perth and Adelaide should be considered as the teams 11 and 12.

The NRL suspension has put these four clubs in danger

I think the tigers would also be in serious trouble.

The NRL suspension has put these four clubs in danger

Im concerned Macarthur might not even join this year.

As sport goes into lockdown, what do you want to read on The Roar?

Brisbane 0-2 Western Sydney
Adelaide 1-1 Wunited
Melbourne 1-2 Sydney
Central Coast 2-10 Wellington
Perth 2-1 Melbourne City

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Round 22

To be honest, all I want to see is the crowds and ratings return to the heights of a few years ago, rather than seeing them decline. I don’t mind watching the A-League. The lack of quality doesn’t seem to bother me too much. Score lines will be similar anyway. I just want it to be a bit more popular around Australia than it is currently.

Was that the most entertaining A-League round of the season?

Surprised Glory and Victory only lost 1-0.

Sydney FC have a vision, but do their A-League rivals?

The a-league cant account for a final that would be finalised one week from the game scheduled. But yes, they should avoid clashing with BBL and NBL. They waited until August to finalise the schedule last year, maybe they do the same this year.

Sydney FC have a vision, but do their A-League rivals?

Think your owners bad? My team just got sold to a fraud.

If anything Macarthur should have been granted before Wunited. But Western Sydney’s like, “nah let us get used to Bankwest first.” Yet it hasnt helped them at all. They still have play like garbage and still have underwhelming attendances. As for Wunited, their crowds are the ultimate nightmare. Poor decision making from the A-League once again.

A radical proposal for a revised A-League

Wellington has actually been granted a long term license to last until the 2030s.
In the future, I would like to see a sixteen competition involving the same 12 teams plus Canberra, Gold Coast, Hobart and Wollongong.

Who could replace the Phoenix?

Once I left the TV on when I was going to the cinemas and left the A-League on just to lift the ratings ever so slightly.

The code wars are here, so let's have at it

I’ve seen A-League games played in worse weather before anyway.

FFA forced to cancel Sydney derby due to wet weather

Im hoping the two face off in a grand final (and Sydney has an off day in the semi-final) and the spark might reignite with those two.

Have we all just given up on the A-League?

On top of that we were supposedly playing our main rivals.

Where to next for football in Australia?

The Distance Derby, but I guess its not noticed like the other ones. Probably I only notice it cause i’m from Perth.

Have we all just given up on the A-League?

If I were the A-League this is how I would reschedule it:

(Wed 26th Feb) 7:30pm Sydney vs Wellington JO (Previously Friday 28th Feb)
(Fri 28th Feb) 7:30pm Newcastle vs Perth MJS (Previously Saturday 29th Feb)
(Sat 28th Feb) 5:00pm Sydney vs Western Sydney JO (Previously Saturday 8th Feb)

What I dont understand is why did Wunited and Macarthur get licenses when all they really do is eat away fans from existing clubs. Wunited only averages ~5000 people per home game (and they dont even have a fixed home yet), while City’s average has dropped from 8000 to 5000 per match and Victory’s crowd attendances have also dropped slightly, though poor performance is also partly to blame. Maybe Macarthur would be better due to the size of Sydney but I reckon will still struggle and weaken the blues and wanderers. At least if they expanded to Canberra and Wollongong, they would be attracting new fans from a new market and wouldn’t sabotage other teams, even if they are average similar crowds to Wunited. I think the A-League messed up its expansion plan.

Have we all just given up on the A-League?

The issue is the barely did when they were at SFS. At least at Jubilee Oval its 50% or whatever it is. Its cheaper to play there, but then again, the facilities are not to the standard of SFS. Thats the dilemma.

Have we all just given up on the A-League?

“Only the A-League could schedule three major derbies.” Its four major derbies, actually.
“ Not to mention a couple of other manufactured grudge matches.” Ok fine I’ll take it.

Have we all just given up on the A-League?

Lets just call Adelaide vs Brisbane the R-Derby or maybe the ANZAC Derby (cause its the two teams from the ANZAC day clash)

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Round 18

Tbh I dont even know if Brisbane has a real rival since Gold Coast left. They have produced some good spectacles with the Reds, though their main rivals are Victory, whose main rivals are City, and thats when rivalries get messy. So maybe have Adelaide/Brisbane the R-Derby and when Macarthur joins next year, Macarthur/Wunited could be The New Debry.

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Round 18

Yeah my bad, on google maps I searched up Adelaide to Brisbane drive route and it said via A39, though I later looked and you had to go on several highways in SA/QLD to reach A39. Thats what happens when you look at just the first thing that pops up on Google.

Definitely better than our previous one, but we need our old song from the 90’s back. That was the best song.

What do you make of West Coast's new club song?

The A39 Derby (Adelaide/Brisbane).
The Distance Derby for Perth/Wellington is fine.
