My four locations are Canberra, Gold Coast, Hobart and Wollongong.

Canberra: Its a city around the size of Newcastle, its the capital of Australia and it already has an ALW team.

Gold Coast: They actually performed well in their last stint on the field, they just get to get a better owner who can make them financially successful. They would provide a second team to Queensland and can also take some games to Townsville.

Hobart: No professional football teams in the state and Tasmania has a very high participation rate, so it could be well supported. They could also take some games to Launceston.

Wollongong: Similar to Central Coast, they are the last major NSW city without a football team. They previously played and won premierships in the NPL and the locals will get behind them.

As for Auckland, I reckon the Phoenix should play at least five games there. With a sixteen team competition, each team plays each other twice for thirty rounds, with the top eight teams progressing through to the championship.

Where should the A-Leagues expand to next?

Or if we are to stick with Saturday night games going up against each other, then how about doing a scenario where like the Sydney Macarthur game is on 10 in NSW while Melbourne Wunited is on 10 in VIC.

Scheduling two A-League Men’s fixtures at the same time is simply ridiculous

I completely agree. The slots should follow like this:
Thu 7:30
Fri 7:30
Sat 5:00
Sat 7:30
Sun 6:00
Floating PER/WEL Slot or Sun 4:00

As for the poor television ratings, I reckon that two games should be shown live on FTA, one on the main channel for the Saturday night game and the other being a broadcast of a states local team.

For example:
Thu 7:30 Melbourne City vs Brisbane (10Bold QLD)
Fri 7:30 Newcastle vs Central Coast (10Bold NSW)
Sat 5:00 Wunited vs Melbourne (10Bold VIC)
Sat 7:30 Western Sydney vs Sydney (10 NSW, VIC, SA, QLD, 10Bold WA)
Sat 6:30 Perth vs Adelaide (10 WA, 10 SA)
Sun 6:00 Macarthur vs Wellington

Apart from AFL fans.

How much longer can Western Sydney Wanderers afford to carry Carl Robinson?

Typo: Rudan is the man to bring WSW to the dead.

I honestly don’t know if its worse supporting the Wanderers or Glory right now. I can say as a Perth fan that I’m struggling to stay interested in this season given we may not play potentially until mid January.

Alastair Clarkson.

Is your AFL mascot costing you premiership cups?

In my opinion, heres the timeslots that the A-League should utilise, instead of the current one we’ve got.

Thu 7:30 or other Wellington/Perth timeslot
Fri 7:30
Sat 5:00
Sat 7:30
Sun 4:00
Sun 6:30

Furthermore, two games a week should be played on channel 10, one prime time game being the game of the week on Saturday night and the other being the local team game. So all Glory games are broadcasted in WA, all Reds game are broadcasted in SA, etc, and all Roar games are broadcasted in QLD. In the case of NSW and Victoria, where all their teams cannot be broadcasted, and states without a team, they can have a second game on Sunday 4:00pm broadcasted on 10. Quite frankly, NSW and Victorian will make the bulk of Saturday and Sunday fixtures anyway.

For its own sake, Channel Ten should do a lot more with the A-Leagues

I watch BBL and even I didn’t know it was on until I saw the result on Austadiums.

It's hard to enjoy the football when all anyone can talk about is VAR

Well there was more people at the Melbourne Perth game than there was for the Sixers Stars game, so thats a positive.

In all seriousness, I’m looking forward to this season. I think there is a lot to like about how the A-League is going now. Nonetheless, I am expecting Perth Glory to disappoint me yet again.

Dear AFL and NRL fans: Will we be seeing you at the A-Leagues this season?

Depends if my pile of dump that I support actually turn up this year.

Well, I guess I’ll next tune into the A-League in 2025-26 when Glory next make the GF.

Get the clubs out of NSW now or else the A-League season could be doomed!

Seriously, just relocate them back to Geelong, that stadium is never going to be built.

I know crowds were low in their first year, but they we’re viewed as a part time club by the Geelong community. If they move to Geelong and invest in their community, they may be able to succeed.

Someone needs to be accountable for Western United's embarrassing stadium fiasco
