Leigh Broxham seems to be on track to become the only A-League player to stay at one club his entire career.
Leigh Broxham – “Wait is that not normal? I see other sportsmen in Australia play at one club.”
The A-League's transfer carousel of concern
And that is officially the end of the Richmond dynasty. Bit nasty on Dusty though, hopefully he recovers soon.
Done and dusted: Tigers champ gets worst possible news after kidney injury
Yeah I could never have seen Sam Mitchell in a Collingwood shirt, definitely is fitting that he coaches the club where he made a name for himself. As for Clarko, I reckon he will become the first coach for a new Tasmanian team, if they are granted with a license.
Clarkson leaving, but no new coach until 2023
And thats why I think Tasmania will in fact succeed in the A-League. If they play their cards right and build a solid and competitive team, they could average around 10K people.
Who's next for A-League expansion?
Well admittedly, this is a pipe dream right now considering Western United cant even get its own stadium up and running, but what I’d like to see is that 15,000 stadium get built in Tarneit, as well as another 15,000 stadium built in Dandenong which could host 12 of City’s 15 matches, with the other three being at AAMI Park (for the derbies).
Who's next for A-League expansion?
Western United should relocate to Geelong and be renamed to the Geelong Warriors.
Who's next for A-League expansion?
Heres an idea. You add Canberra, Gold Coast, Hobart and Wollongong into the A-League to form a 16 team competition, relocate Melbourne City to Dandenong and if Wunited falls through, relocate them to Geelong. Wellington split their games between Wellington and Auckland.
Who's next for A-League expansion?
Maybe in the other game, Wellington play Canberra at Sky Stadium. There could be a double header.

Developing a marquee fixture list for the A-League
Fitzroy just returned to Melbourne, as well as South Melbourne Swans. Maybe we revive the Bears as well.
Crows and Power Melbourne-bound after SA COVID-19 outbreak, Dockers-Blues moved to Geelong
I wouldn’t mind Williamstown and Frankston relocating to WA if they go broke, cause they probably won’t work out anyway.
If that ever happens, lets call them the West Coast Eagles and the Fremantle Dockers.

R.I.P AFL, you provided us many great moments over the last thirty-two seasons. 😢
Well, its looks like the VFL is back now, and all the Victorians are probably rejoicing today.
Its looking a bit different since 1981. Theres six new teams: Ballarat Crows, Frankston Dockers, GWV Giants, Port Melbourne Power, Sandringham Suns and Williamstown Eagles.

Our requests have fallen on deaf ears?
How many home Friday night games did your team receive this year. Lets see, there was Central Coast, Newcastle, Perth, Wellington and Western United. Five times, the most of any team this year. Thats not to mention the away match against Macarthur, and the Saturday night games against Victory and Sydney. Plenty of prime time imo, more than what my club got this year.
Developing a marquee fixture list for the A-League
Heres my ideas:
Thursday Season Opener: Western Sydney vs Macarthur (Bankwest)
Friday Round One: Melbourne Victory vs Western United (AAMI)
Remembrance Day: Newcastle vs Sydney (McDonald Jones)
Boxing Day: Adelaide vs Western Sydney (Coopers)
New Years Eve: Central Coast vs Newcastle (Central Coast)
New Years Day: Western Sydney vs Melbourne City (Bankwest)
Australia Day: Sydney vs Melbourne (Allianz)
New Zealand Day: Wellington vs Western United (Sky)
Holy Thursday: Western United vs Melbourne City (AAMI Park)
Good Friday: Adelaide vs Melbourne (Coopers)
Easter Sunday: Canberra vs Newcastle (GIO) (Western Sydney vs Newcastle until Canberra gets a team)
Easter Monday: Perth vs Sydney (HBF)
ANZAC Day: Brisbane vs Sydney (Moreton Daily)
Developing a marquee fixture list for the A-League
I don’t know why many people complain about the finals system being unfair, I mean the Grand Final is always between the top two teams anyway. You finish second, you’re basically guaranteed with a Grand Final spot. As for the premiers, they’ll only miss out on a GF once every six years, due to next happen in the 2023-24 season.
Should the A-League keep the finals?
The fairest finals system is the top 8 system the AFL and NRL use. If we ever expand to 16 teams, the A-League should consider using that option.
Heres a six team finals alternative until that happens.
QF1: 1st vs 2nd
QF2: 3rd vs 4th
EF: 5th vs 6th
SF1: QF1L vs QF2W
SF2: QF2L vs EFW
PF1: QF1W vs EF1L
PF2: EF1W vs EF2W
GF: PF1W vs PF2W
Should the A-League keep the finals?
To replace the Glory, yeah sure, I’d be in for that. But honestly, another team in Perth would make not just the Glory, but both teams really useless.
How many expansion teams would work in winter A-League?
No, no second team in Perth. I’m a Perth fan here, and I’d much rather one bigger club service Perth than it being split into two smaller clubs. Crowds would be bigger and we’d have a better chance at winning a freakin championship. Can’t see either doing well in a two team town.
How many expansion teams would work in winter A-League?
Canberra and Wollongong should join for 2023.
How many expansion teams would work in winter A-League?
As a Perth supporter, I would not like a new team in Perth. I prefer one strong club in WA. If the competition were to be 18 teams, you’d have to go with Auckland and Dandenong, though North Queensland may be an option too. However, I feel a sixteen team comp is a nice number to work with. You have thirty rounds, and at the seasons end, the top 50% of teams play off in the AFL and NRL’s final eight system (definitely the most fair finals system). So in that case, City would be the best option for Dandenong.
How many expansion teams would work in winter A-League?
My idea for expansion is this. Canberra and Wollongong join in 2022-23, while Hobart and Gold Coast join in 2023-24, forming a 16 team competition, where every team plays each other twice throughout a thirty round season. As for a Dandenong team, I reckon City rename to Southeast Melbourne City and play 12 of their 15 home games at a newly built stadium in Dandenong, while Western United should hopefully move to Tarneit soon. Phoenix could split their games between Wellington and Auckland. Along with the thirty home games would be the four week finals series, as well as the five round FFA Cup and pre-FFA Cup playoffs, which would give teams anywhere between 32 and 40 games to play in a season, depending on how far teams make the finals and FFA Cup.

2019 Grand Final: Perth vs Sydney.
How fair is the A-League if Melbourne City can't host the grand final?
Yeah honestly it was a bit concerning. Stark difference to what I saw in Perth just two years ago. 😢

You’re right, I didn’t see him.
