Dockers win,

and England lose 2 wkts in 2 balls, still 6 1/2 overs to go, and need really another 60 runs.

Dockers hit the lead.

Is AFL at Tipping Point or Saturation Point?

the off season they’ve had, they’re lucky to crack 20K (North fans don’t take the 20K mark for granted!!),

but, goals to Banfield and Rich and a 3 goal lead with about 10 mins to go.

and England have a reasonable launching pad for the last 9 overs.

WHo does Davinci Code play for?

I remember a guy called David Code who played up bush. Couldn’t be him, he’d have to be pushing 50 by now.

Does Mark Seymour know someone’s playing his song in the toilets??

with the injuries to Staker, Brown and Beams – the young Lions must be expected to get over run from here.

Crows look to be up,

Hawks gonski?

although, 3 goals in 5 mins,

don’t rule the line thru until it’s less minutes left than goals required.

Is AFL at Tipping Point or Saturation Point?

Roughead the reply, keeps Hawks within 2 pts,

mean while, it’s all tied up in the 3rd at the Gabba.

Is AFL at Tipping Point or Saturation Point?

Dangerfield – – what a goal from the boundary line…..Adel up by 8 pts, that was correctly called by Mal Blight as the most exciting minute and a half of the 1st round so far.

This is a classic game so far. (no other code does ’em quite like this………note though, no ‘better’ claims here for those wanting an argument).

Franklin almost the complete player,……if only he could mark above his head.

Ah, no diff to the poor suckers in Perth every Friday night.

actually, seriously, I don’t so much mind a game on say 20 mins delay or so, I’m not overly fussed that it must be totally live – – however, 2 and 3 hour delays…….those days are gone surely!!! (or, must be via the anti siphoning once it’s finalised).

Could be worse though……could be an A-League fan…… 😉

You’d like to see Gaff playing on Tape,…….

(coach yelling out ‘stick on him’)

How’s Iron chef tonight?

England 3-98 in the 28th,

just lost Bopara.

(oh, good steal by Maric and McKernan get’s the free……big kick)

anyway, Poms hoping to repeat the Kiwi’s effort of last night (brilliant effort and 2 spinners opening the bowling just showed the Aust selection folly).

time filler succeeded – – McKernan drills the goal. Good lad!!

and Phil Davis starting the last qtr – very important.

Jono Brown 3 goals at the Gabba – and Dayne Beams’ brother Claye has 2 goals (on debut?). The Beams boys being good QLD lads…….and evidence of the clear need for the AFL to sustain and expand it’s presence in QLD, ‘cos kids with hand/eye/foot skills would just be wasted in the other codes……… 😉

Is AFL at Tipping Point or Saturation Point?

a ruddy cracking game,

young McKernan is looking good, Sloane marked himself last year, and Dangerfield is all class (except for that backward kick a few minutes back that as Blighty pointed out cost them about 90 seconds, heaps of calories and they still just ended up with a behind from a speculative shot from the boundary………

The only thing that’ll beat’em now would be Buddy (3 goal last qtr my prediction) and injury,….especially point A if point B includes Phil Davis not coming back.

Is AFL at Tipping Point or Saturation Point?

Hawks 14 pts up 5 to go in the 2nd qtr. Good game – – like most in Rnd 1, skills aren’t 100% yet, but, the Crows have come back a bit and it’s a pretty good game.

I do hope the Iron Chef is satisfying you. Personally, the ‘product’ of the Iron Chef completed it’s marketing life cycle on me over about a month 5 years ago.

Fussball –

amazing, the A-League has managed that cycle in the space of just 6 years!

Matt S –

no other choices……yes, yes, we know all about the wonderful sporting smorgasboard that is Rugby League and Rugby Union,

just like following both kind’s of movies in the oll days, the Black and the White,

and like following both kind’s of music, Country AND Western.

ICF –

the topic at hand??

in the drivel article you’ve produced and your pretty ordinary anti AFL baiting that you’ve persisted with??

MFL actually has facts, information, real links.

That you and your mates continue to chose to NOT believe anything with ‘AFL’ in the sentence just shows how hopeless this whole exercise is. You should thank MLF for adding credibility to this thread – – something your writing lacks.

Andrew –

internationally loved game?

by how many people?

I know there are a few hundred kids in Vanuatu who have fallen in love with the game just over the last 6 months, there’s some Icelandic fellows who played the game in Denmark and loved it so much that they returned home to Iceland and started the game there (no expat Aussies to be seen) – and love the game so much they’ll pay their own way to come to Australia this August for the 4th international cup.

Obviously, without the media monopoly of soccer esepecially, the lack of venues, the amatuer status, etc – – it’s astounding that there’s Aust Footy played anywhere overseas – – – so, the breakthru’s thus far achieved show that people overseas CAN and DO love the game.

However – we all know that it’d be pretty well impossible to grow into anything substantive in most cases – – so, I’m just wondering what your ‘achievable’ criteria might be for a ‘proof’??

Is AFL at Tipping Point or Saturation Point?

Not necessarily,

A close game is not always a good game.

And, often a last 15 mins ‘blow out’ turns an entertaining and competitive game into what is perceived as a bad game by the margin.

Titus –

there must be something drastically wrong with me,

today we just bought a brand new obviously inferior fridge that’s made in Adelaide.

I’d better let my wife know how monumental was the error of our ways. Shoulda bought the Chinese quality product instead!!

Is AFL at Tipping Point or Saturation Point?

Punter –

so, Mark Viduka could waltz in and buy the entire A-League then,….for the next 5 years.

I do note that thus far, he guards his money a tad more judiciously and he’s stayed well away from the HAL.

Is AFL at Tipping Point or Saturation Point?

yeah,

if the NRL demographic was as diversely split as the Melb to Perth timezone where games go on delay into Perth after they’ve already finished…….gawd,

when talking about ‘saturation’, Foxtel is desperate to get even better deals into the footy states.

Is AFL at Tipping Point or Saturation Point?

don’t forget Skoda!!!

we used to have the ‘Commodore Cup’ on a Sunday arvo,

perhaps the NEAFL might be ‘Holden’ territory???
