You transgress you pay!? Tell me how many scrums Nigel Owens, Garces or anyone else has packed into….they are trying to understand what’s going on from something they read in a book & it’s why it’s a lottery. The packs are more often playing for penalty than the point of a restart as the scrum is intended to be.

The Rugby World Cup final proves something needs to give

Completely agree though the sooner the defence line gets pushed back a couple of meters the better. Sick of hearing how great the defence is and average the halves are when the defensive line starts offside and goes early. You’ve got props supposedly quicker than Bolt being hailed as game breakers. It’s massively effecting the spectacle and regardless of what all the die hards want, a spectacle is how you tap into a new audience.
I think the short arm for scrum infringements is worth a try – many decisions are a toss of the coin, but id suggest most go to the team that has the feed – otherwise it becomes a cynical way of winning the ball. Again – those talking of the worth of the scrum need to look no further than the feed which is as bad as what rugby fans criticise league for – at least league doesn’t pretend it’s a contest.

Whilst I agree with majoruof what you say, I disagree on the no balls. Having been sat at Edgebaston and Trent Bridge in 2015 there were so many no balls not called that allowed bowlers to get closer to the batsman and dominate them….yep a few wickets were overturned, but if it wasn’t a wicket it was ignored and made scoring so much harder. I have no problem scoring being harder but not by shortening the 22 yards

An open letter from a concerned fan of Test cricket

Anyone thinking Warner should be going to England is deluded. Think back to game before sandpaper saga at yet another example of him not being able to control his emotions. He baited de Kock all day to no avail, then when he copped a bit going back he lost his rag.
The English hate him more than any other player in world cricket and the press & fans will be ripping into him at every turn….how do you think this proven boofhead will cope. He won’t and his cricket will be average as a result….it’s never been that strong in UK anyway.
The team has showed some real humility over these last 12 months, even earned back a bit of global respect. Bringing Warner back in will shred all that.

Is Ashton Turner another Marcus Stoinis?

Farrell should have been penalised for diving. He had a clear shot on MK and claimed to be obstructed by Moore, and fell to the ground as if shot or playing football, despite being the width of MK’s girth away from Moore. Itoje was offside of a maul and then killed the ball….I would suggest if it was a yellow arm doing that we would have seen another card.
The no try to hooper was a poor decision and every bit the nitpicking that is wrong with rugby and it’s illogical officiating. Not involved in play and ambling till he was put onside like 999 players out of a thousand do every weekend. Looking for reasons to kill positive attacking play at the Home of Rugby Boredom

Five talking points from Australia's loss to England

Brakes card was harsh given he was trying to intercept, consistency should have seen Itoje get the same treatment for killing the ball from an offside position but yet to see a ref treat him like everyone else. Similarly Robshaw should have seen yellow for multiple infringements given Hooper received that treatment. Both denied tries and the Daley try could have gone either way (should have) and what a different game that could have been. Biggest game of the autumn calendar and they give the whistle to a kid who no doubt found the twickenham pissheads too intimidating to not be swayed.
Thought Macalman brought some good power to the pack when he came on as that back row is too lightweight.
