To be fair Sheek, your post epitomises what’s wrong with rugby. A long winded ramble which had me turning off before half time…

'We have to keep the essence of what rugby is about': All Black legend's worrying words of warning

I’d imagine he’s commuting until the test season

How Schmidt landed All Blacks icon at Wallabies - and why '80 per cent of coaching is selection'

Exciting times for Aussie rugby. Here’s hoping people don’t get ahead of themselves and are willing to put in the hard yards.

Pretty defensive of old Taniela aren’t you TWAS. If you want a lazy, injury prone prop, great. Personally, I’d love to see him shed some kgs and play regularly.

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

Would be really interested to see how Tupou compares to other international standard props in terms of activity around the field. Seems to me he may play long minutes but his contribution is relatively small.

That you Eddie? 🥊 😛

There are only two ways rugby can go from here - and there's no middle ground between physicality and safety

I say tomato, you say tamatie. It was dealt with at the time, move on.

“Well done kiwis for showing just how dirty your players are.”

Assuming you’re a Saffa? Accusing other teams of being dirty. Is it still April Fools?

Rugby is a collision sport. Absolutely outlaw thuggish acts, but there’s always going to be contact and accidental injuries as a result of large men coming together at speed. Boxing, martial arts, MMA, ice hockey all have contact, it’s part and parcel of their sports. If players play the game and are happy to bank the pay cheque, then injuries are just one of the unfortunate outcomes that happen sometimes.

Yawn

Rugby has become too defence oriented. The lawmakers and whistle blowers need to speed up the game to ensure we don’t head down the route of the NFL with less and less aerobic forwards, smashing and bashing each other then being rewarded with a long breather in between. There needs to be a better balance between the collision and the non-collision. At the moment, teams are rewarded for slowing down the play, playing for the penalty and running down the clock.

WR's mooted law changes are great - but show there's a hell of a lot wrong with rugby in 2024, and that sucks

Tupou is 6cm shorter and 25kg heavier than Fletcher Newell.

Five things we learned: Schmidt's selection headache, Carter's a No.12 wildcard, and $1m Thor must step up

He’s an explosive athlete, unfortunately the only things exploding at the moment are his calves 🥊

I got howled down on this site for questioning Tupou’s fitness. The guy is seriously overweight and needs to lose some kegs if he’s going to avoid ongoing injuries.

Saw an interesting stat, of the three South Island Super teams (men’s and women’s) there have only been 2 wins and 12 losses this season (both wins to the Highlanders).

The Crusaders must already be looking at which games they can realistically win to make it through to the playoffs.

The Wrap: Wallaby's brain fade that cost the Tahs, con job worthy of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

DMac looked to be carrying an injury last week too.

Blues beat Crusaders for first time in 10 years, Chiefs survive late scare

I made a comment last night that I think Holland would look good in a better team. He’s strong at lineout time and ok around the field, but Parkinson was surprisingly slow and limp last night, so not sure Holland had an opportunity to shine.

Have you watched any Super Rugby Honey? This Crusaders team isn’t anything like the teams of the past.

A very simplistic argument. If the Boks won the World Cup on discipline, why did the Irish get knocked out in the quarters? Had either Mo’unga or Barrett’s kicks gone over, would we still be having this conversation?

Joe Schmidt's search for a 'cold-hearted bastard' - and the issue he'll lose most sleep over

First time in 8 years the B&I fans can travel. If Aussies don’t want the tickets it will be a sea of red.

The Wrap: Reds light up Melbourne, while it's lights out for TV over Lienert-Brown concussion

Rugby is a defensive game currently. Win the contact and territory battle and you’ll win the game.

I’m not surprised the Boks have high ball in play time and low try stats. Isn’t that the point Kirwan is making, they play but don’t score tries?

Given the Boks won their last three games by a single point it’s also not surprising they don’t dominate the stats in any particular area.

Maybe it’s too optimistic, or maybe it’s just sour grapes, but I’d rather the best teams in the world be those that are dominating the opposition AND trying to score tries rather than eeking out wins and playing defensive rugby.

No argument mate. Just making the point Mo’unga wasn’t the be all and end all. He was good, stepped up in the World Cup but ultimately missed the winning kick (as did JB). Give DMac some time and a good strategy and he may well step up as well. It’s the start of a new World Cup cycle, so let’s see what the new coaches and current players can do.

'It's time we grew up': The jarring hypocrisy that proves All Blacks are getting key call all wrong

Is that the same Mo’unga who missed (one of) the match winning kick in the World Cup final? He’s decided to chase the money and good on him. We still have DMac and Barrett. Others will come through too.

Other than Mo’unga who else would we want to come back that isn’t already signed with NZR?

You need to get out more. In terms of world sport prices, those are pretty reasonable.

Poor Crusaders, lose half a dozen ABs and they’re struggling for depth and are unable to compete…welcome to the club!
