St Kilda and OKC Thunder die hard. Writes about NBA/AFL. Does not take Westbrook slander. Contact: LiamC16498@hotmail.com

Westbrook really did suit OKC, his contract seems to scare people off and rightfully so since he is an aging guard whose game involves a lot of athleticism. It would be interesting to see whether Beal and Westbrook would co exist. While it may be a risk, I could certainly see it working well for the Wizards who are also able to offload Wall.

I was hoping he would end up with the Hornets initially, however with their drafting of LaMelo Ball I would like to see him go to the Knicks and dominate his way. He still has a lot of game left, and any of the teams listed would benefit from him. My dark horse team to go after him who I did not list would be the Pistons, however due to their draft day moves I do not think Russ fits into their plans.

Three trade destinations for Russell Westbrook

If Westbrook isn’t happy there, they do not have much choice. Wall has a similar contract so it would not be simply to clear his contract, and Wall may not come back the way he was before the injury however it is better than getting nothing in return.

When there are dramas in the team and the player does not want to be there, then you’re generally not going to get a lot for them. I personally think the Knicks or Hornets would be the best for Westbrook, while the Wizards or the Hornets would provide the Rockets with the best trade value.

It would have been tricky, no matter what way the league decided to do it. I still think that you would have had players complaining about not being able to play in the olympics if the season was pushed back, so therefore the NBA could not win either way. While it is disappointing for loyal fans to not have the stars out there every night in the early season, I do believe that the NBA made the right decision. It will truly be a showcase of which teams have the most depth.

Great article by the way Blake!

First half of one of the most competitive NBA seasons will be hard to watch

As Trent mentioned, this will give some of the recently drafted players a chance to shine which is good. I am also ready for a highly competitive season, and while it may be hard to watch initially it does make sense for the stars who went deep in the playoffs to rest to avoid injury.

Definitely like your trade ideas. Getting rid of Westbrook and Harden now will help the team develop long term. Westbrook wants to leave and Harden has not shown yet that he can win with Houston even after all the time he has spent there.

Simmons on a team surrounded by shooters would be a dream, and the Rockets would have some nice young pieces to contribute to a team that could remain competitive

Houston we have a problem: What is next for the Rockets?

That is exactly right, they win both ways by getting more compensation for Cameron and making Geelong actually give up something to get their guy

Jeremy Cameron's historic situation is beneficial for both GWS and the AFL

It is not ideal, but its better to get what ever they can if Cameron wants to leave and head to Geelong. GWS need to have a crack at luring in some more established players though instead of just utilising the draft. Problem is I do not believe they are a high destination club.

Jeremy Cameron's historic situation is beneficial for both GWS and the AFL

I feel as though in that scenario that he would potentially end up with Geelong anyway. I am not clear on all the rules with the draft, but I feel as though there would be precautions around that. But as I said, I do not think it will get to that stage and that Geelong will get a deal done. It is not like Cameron has bad blood with GWS either, worse case scenario he stays with the team for a year and they try to shop him again next season. But GWS know that Geelong want their man and are just trying to milk a bit more out of them

Jeremy Cameron's historic situation is beneficial for both GWS and the AFL

Cameron wins either way basically, he still gets paid.

Most definitely Peter, I am finally happy to see a club stand up to the bigger clubs and not allow them to just poach the players they have put so much development into. It is interesting to see how many players the Giants have developed and seen how many have left. And you are right, Geelong will be the team who gets Cameron with the team looking to make a push to the Grand Final once again

Jeremy Cameron's historic situation is beneficial for both GWS and the AFL

I believe the Giants are sitting alright either way, as they know Geelong really want Cameron. However, if Geelong do walk away from trade talks then they can hang onto a player who is one of the best key forwards in the competition. However, I do believe that a deal will get done and Geelong will acquire his services

Sure, the club needs to make changes. But it seems to be that Collingwood have dug themselves a hole in terms of salary cap. They have made some questionable decisions signing these long contracts if they just want to trade them away. I do not disagree that a rebuild would be good, but surely the club could release a statement to try and protect their brand a bit. I am all for toughness, but this situation is just appalling and I do not think Treloar is the problem at Collingwood.

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

Collingwood definitely dropped the ball by signing him to a big deal and hearing about all this situation makes the club look really bad. The club looks quite appalling and I am surprised that it has nearly been a week and they haven’t made a statement yet. Truly bizarre

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

Their culture has definitely taken a hit in recent years with all the scandals and bad press. Hopefully something changes so the club can get back on track

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

Collingwood definitely have buggered up this year. Would love to see the Saints pick him up, but it’ll be interesting to see how the Pies go

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

I’d love to see him with my Saints as well, would definitely bolster our midfield

Thank you for your opinions Jimmy, I very much value hearing your say. You are very passionate and I respect that, however the arguments do not stem from hate for Collingwood as many on this thread in agreement are Collingwood supporters. Hope you have a lovely day 😊

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

This is also an opinion piece Jimmy, if you read above the headline you would be able to tell. These statements, based on the facts we have, are fair assumptions to make. Players are obviously going to think twice before signing with the club, unless the club makes a statement to clear the air. They have not, so therefore we have to go by what we have heard in the media and from others.
You have a very passionate view Jimmy, and I see your opinions are very strong. I value your opinions, however we all have to go on what we have heard currently until the club makes a statement. However, from what we have heard this situation continues to look worse for the Magpies and definitely is beginning to have a negative impact on their brand

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

It is a “fact” that the Collingwood football club is looking worse by the day, as they continue to ignore the backlash they are receiving.

And yes, of course the article is opinion. I respect your opinion as well, but the article is also supported by the facts we have received, as any piece of writing should be. Thank you for engaging with the piece! 😊

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

I hope it works out for both him and his family, however I feel as though Collingwood is now a toxic environment for him to stay at (even though he could force them to honour the contract). I believe a change of scenery is a matter of when rather than if, but I hope he makes the best choice for himself and his family

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

You bring up good points berrlins, his partner’s contract is relatively short and I could see reasoning for him to stay put in Melbourne currently. It is a tricky situation ever since reports surfaced. Treloar could be both good and bad for Gold Coast, as while he is quality he would likely take a spot from a younger guy in the rotation. I will stay say Gold Coast is most likely based on reports, but if he does decide to stay in Melbourne which club do you reckon would take him on?

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

Thank you for your comments Peter, and your article was terrific as well! It is interesting to see a Collingwood supporter’s view on this without any bias. It definitely seems like an excuse to dump his salary and I feel a Collingwood statement is needed to clear the air on what is a very messy situation thus far. It is very interesting to contrast the situation with Beams and the situation with Treloar

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

I wouldn’t call it that, Jimmy. Just stating the facts from what we have heard. Would say the same for any club who does the same. But thank you for reading 😊

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

Treloar has mentioned that he will be fine with the time his partner spends away, and I feel it is a major cop out just for Collingwood to get rid of his massive contract. The club extended him to the massive deal after knowing of all his struggles with anxiety, making the commitment to the player and now suddenly back flipping. It is a horrible look and you honestly can’t tell me that players are going to look at this move and think that they will want to sign with a club that is willing to treat their most loyal players like that?

Unfair treatment of Adam Treloar will cripple Collingwood

Well, he is well-known star when he played in Port Adelaide. And his role as a media analyst has definitely created legendary memes 😂
