And that’s EXACTLY why Hawthorn have this racism allegations. A players GF was not happy with the way a club official spoke to her.. she should have never been in there in the first place.

This also happened on the cricket woman goes into the men’s changeroom then lodges a complaint because one of them was naked.

Secondly you didn’t answer my question , when do male reporters go into female changerooms while they are showering and changing,?

Daisy Pearce changeroom controversy highlights AFL’s lingering sexism

Name one other club that allows opposition coaches into their inner sanctum.

The author lets it slip in his own article ;

”Geelong’s Brownlow Medalist and premiership hero Patrick Dangerfield ……….. though admittedly he’s yet to appear in a rival’s rooms post-match.”

Game over.

Fagan had every right to ban her.

Frankly, women should not be in the mens changerooms at all immediately after a game. Male journalists dont go into the female changerooms at all, so why do people expect the opposite is ok?

EXACTLY!! The planets have aligned. Simmo has run his race..”thanks for your service”, time to move on 🙂

AFL power rankings: A disturbance in the force

Cheers bud.. I’m Not a Port man.. and to me it’s an awful strip. If you like good for you. The current strip.. with the V is one of the best in the league imo. Cheers

It's time to end the Port Adelaide prison bar debate once and for all

” too comfortable accepting losses “.

I think you’re on to something there. Everyone clocks in..goes through the motions on the weekend come Monday they are all doing podcasts or stuff in the media…rinse repeat.

It’s been like that for a number of years now… they need a clean out from top to bottom.

Richmond got complacent in the early 80’s. Look what happened to them.. 37 years in the wilderness.. Melbourne? Nearly SIXTY years.

Eagles will go the same way unless somebody puts a stop to it.

Hey hey ho how Adam Simpson has got to go!! Nisbet too if he won’t act.

AFL power rankings: A disturbance in the force

Yes, I think you can excuse the Fyfe situation, incidental contact, but the Hipwood situation is a cheap shot off the ball .. he also takes out the umpire and as a reward, he gets a goal in a tight game!! Really, it was as weak as piss that he did that.

He should get 4 weeks.

As for ”changing the rules”.. why? We already have ”unduly rough play” so you charge him with that.

AFL NEWS: Calls for crackdown on ump contact after bizarre incident, concussion victim slams Stewart's 'dirty act'

As a neutral Ive always believed the Port Adelaide SANFL club prison bars strip was the worst one of any club in any comp in Australia.

I really is ugly!!

The current strip with the blue and white ”V” is a great design and I dont know why Kochie and his crowd dont embrace it.

Port Power came into the comp as a new AFL club… as with all clubs, the arrangement was you have different colours , logo etc to the existing clubs.

Eagles, Freo, Adelaide, have all followed that criteria and in 30 odd years there has never been a problem with those clubs, the AFL, or any other club .

But every year we have this merry-go round with Port and their Prison Bars.

Sure… I loved State of Origin as a fan of the game.. but even I ( pretty broad minded) had no interest in the ”Allies”, especially if it was against Victoria.

Western Australia or South Australia playing Victoria is the highest level one can play in our game.. . The allies, an amalgamation of the other states, well they can play each other.

Im a firm believer that they can have a carnival every 4 years two weeks after the Grand final where the best of the best can play each other.. maybe two divisions, the Big Three plus Tasmania, then a second division of QLD, NSW NT and ACT.

Yes its a hypothetical article, but still… I dont think anyone is interested in the Allies even as a hypothetical discussion. Cheers ; ]

Would this Allies side be the State of Origin favourites?

”Allies” is not a state.

.. and nobody has ever been interested in watching them play. It was a ridiculous concept that nobody except TV broadcasters supported.

Would this Allies side be the State of Origin favourites?

They are conceding more points than GWS did in their initial years.

Some one pointed out their last 17 games are the worst in VFL / AFL history. Even University and Fitzroy offered more opposition than this current Eagles side.

The clueless coach needs to be sacked ASAP

Six Points: Time for Eagles and Simpson to part ways, and why wounded Weitering wasn't what cost the Blues

I think he would go well over there. They need a key forward, so he will get a few more games, if we get a first round draft pick for him I think thats win win for both sides. We got him at pick 18 or something if I remember correctly.

Are 'junk time' goals and injuries the only thing stopping Jack Darling being dropped?

Exactly.

He should have been playing in the WAFL getting his fitness up to speed and they should have played Jake the Snake Waterman at CHF or given Bailey Williams an extended run in the position. Bailey was a key position player till he came to the Eagles and ever since they have tried to turn him into a ruckman.

Ok, players have to be versatile but its the perfect opportunity to give him a run in a key position to see how he goes.

Are 'junk time' goals and injuries the only thing stopping Jack Darling being dropped?

If the club doesnt have a proscription on going to clubs what is the problem?

I mean, if Simmo doesnt want them going to clubs, he has to tell them. If no one has said anything to them why would they be in trouble?

Storm in a Tea cup.

Eagles players let down the club with clubbing incident

Ha ha, poor old Naish.

Well, thats what happens when you take guys who got cut from other clubs. 1/3 of our side are guys who fit that bill. Sure, you get the odd diamond in the rough, but Most of the time all they do is show why they got cut. Brutal assessment but I think its true.

Yeo and Redden were recruited to fulfil specific roles, so I dont include them in that, but the guy from Port we brought over.. he had one good game in 3 years, he should have been cut after his first year with us.

Agree with you on Shuey.. hes had hammy problems his whole career actually… so I think we have to bite the bullet and do one of two things next year.

a.) Tell the Shuester that he only plays every second week when we are at home… and on the road we use that to blood new young guys.
b.) We retire him at the end of the year with Hurn et al. If he wants to keep playing we trade him to GC.

Cheers mate. ; ]

How West Coast can shorten their rebuild

I get the whole ”Kelly trade” thing. They took a punt to get another flag, it didnt work, move on.

They gave away too much.. and they turned down a rolled gold chance to get some top end talent in with Gaff at the end of 2020.

But by 2020, certainly by 2021 it was clear a rebuild should have been in order. Kennedy Hurn and Cripps for starters should have been retired. Some tough conversations needed to be had with people like Naitanui.

They kept Venebales on the list for years.. literally, after one year out of the game there should have been a conversation with him..

Footy is a tough business.

”Skipper Luke Shuey and dynamic small forward Willie Rioli will also miss the game with hamstring injuries.” Both of those guys are underdone and this is what happens when you play guys who are underdone, Yeo cannot run out a game.

The biggest bugbear for everybody is young players come in, do well, then get dropped to make way for senior players who are clearly, out of shape!!

That is not Covid!! Thats Adam Simpson.

Game plan, the whole backline play like forwards, nobody spoils , nobody stays on their man, opposition sides are virutally walking goals in.

Using Covid as an excuse papers over some legitimate problems the club has .

Adam Simpsons time has come. They peaked betwen 2015 and 2018, and it was time to begin a list clear out at the end of 2020.

Bad trades, Keeping Gaff, playing overweight out of shape players, game plan which doesnt work, or nobody understands, backmen having no clue about how to defend.. None of that is the fault of Covid.. its the fault of the coach.

Why Adam Simpson deserves to stay at West Coast

Im happy with those two, key position players who will be key to the next generation of success in a few years time…

Would have loved to have Kelly, but Im glad we didnt give up two picks for him.

My All Australian side after Round 11

Exactly, it used to be Shep or Schoey but as we are seeing, they are both great players and we cant afford for either of them not to be in the side. Some very good players are going to miss out when we get back to full strength 😉

My All Australian side after Round 11

MATE!! Thats almost word for word the same as something I wrote and I hadnt read your post .. Great minds think alike and Duggy is a gun 😉

My All Australian side after Round 11

I gotta admit, I was annoyed when he went to that mob down the road…he would have looked great in an Eagles Guernsey 😉

My All Australian side after Round 11

Mate , McGovern is up there now with Jacovich as the best centre half back ever to play for the club… plenty have rated Jaco as the best Eagle of all time, ahead of Peter Matera (I dont agree but hes a close third after Judd). So the Guv is one guy we really cant afford to lose.

The side effect of that is we have some other guns down there who people tend to ignore, but Barras is as good as any fullback in the league and as other punters have mentioned, would be All Australian if he played for a big Melbourne club. Schofield and Sheppard rarely lose a one on one duel.. and then theres Duggan and Hurn who are both elite kicks of the football… its hard finding a spot for Jetta truth be told… who also has elite kicking and running skills.

Sorry, that was a bit of a mouthful for a short question so the answer is yes, I dont think we can cover the talent of the Guv if he goes down. The guy is good enough to be an elite forward, he kicks a bag every time he goes forward 😉

Trivia time : Babe Ruth started out as a pitcher, and once threw a no hitter record that stood for 27 years…. the Guv is in that kind of mold.

My All Australian side after Round 11

Glad to see Liam Duggan get picked, the Eagles have a bunch of those second tier players who dont get much press but are good AFL players . No flash, just do the basics well week in week out.

My All Australian side after Round 11

Im sure you’re aware that Richmond were in the doldrums for two generations and Melbourne havent anything since my grandfather was a teenager.

Brendon Bolton was crucified to save SOS's sins

Sure, but he can play. He might be lacking confidence or confused by getting so many different messages. He was a gun in the beginning at the Pies, then they swung him down back (lord knows why) the guy was a natural born goal kicker like Mark LeCras why you would waste him 80m out from goal is a mystery.

Mayne struggled for a while at the Pies and hes turned it around. Fasolo will turn it around… and even if he doesnt, he was worth a punt.

I would have been happy if he went to my team.

Brendon Bolton was crucified to save SOS's sins

Exactly, if the new coach wants to coach an AFL team in the future he would want to win a few games. Tanking gets him a job in the Owens and Murray league.
