Not taboo, just not relevant – especially on an article about the Cats.

With their defence and a trade steal firing, the Cats lead the ladder. The next three weeks will tell us if they really deserve to

Yep Don 1.8 = 2.0 😔

In other news Charlie Curnow is kicking 4 goals a game

Powerful or not it makes the point that he isn’t aren’t averaging 2.0 a game – just a fact.

Also should be remembered Henry is playing third tall behind Hawkins and Cameron which is significantly different to your 2.

I suppose I am just a little bemused about the fact that from round 10 to round 16 2022 he kicked 13 goals from 6 games, he has a quiet game against North in round 17 (where you only just crapped home reeling in a big deficit) and then didn’t play again (just twice being the unused sub).

To me that doesn’t seem to be valuing him

I think the issue was that Collingwood got themselves into a position where the uncontracted Henry wanted out. Once that happened and he chose Geelong they were never going to get value but perhaps they should have valued him more earlier.

Amiss going at 1.7 this year (1.8 career), Treacy going at 1.8 this year 1.0 career – that isn’t “2 goals a game.”

Got a little bit worried this would be another critical article about a team the Blues are about to face but I think we are safe from your curse.

Will be a fascinating game this week – neither side has hard a really tough start to the year but both have largely banked the wins they should (Carlton have beaten 2 of last years top 4 but beating the Lions at the Gabba hasn’t turned out to be the scalp I thought it was at the time).

To me a lot depends on whether Weitering gets up this week, he has a decent record on Hawkins and with our extensive injury list (especially compared to the Cats almost full list) if Weitering doesn’t play we might end up having to use Lewis Young or Harry Lemmey against Hawkins or Cameron (probably already slated to play on the rapidly improving but still inexperienced Kemp with Young better suited to Henry).

The clearances will be interesting – the Blues were absolutely unbelievable last week with some breathtaking tapwork – if the can replicate hthat with a bigger and more experienced midfield and put a Stewartless defence under pressure it will go a long way to getting a win

Hopefully the weather holds up and we get a great game

“In that shot he’s already pushing off to jump” as I said “he hasn’t yet left the ground” unless somehow he is pushing off while off the ground we agree.
“Unless his arm is already completely tucked in” We can argue about what constitutes “completely tucked in” but is is certainly held across his body in a “tucked in” style.
” you can see his right hand is still cupped out” not sure what your definition of “cupped” is but you can clearly see the back of Wright’s right hand is facing the ball (as opposed to the Sydney player who has both the palms of his hands facing up in a “cupping” action).
“The other thing you need to factor in is that Wright seriously injured his right shoulder 12 months earlier. ” I can tell he is worried about it due to the complete absence of any strapping on his shoulder.
“then there’s no way you can sensibly point to this as a conscious decision to hit his opponent.” I guarantee that if you go frame by frame from this point his right hand only rotates further from the ball and his right shoulder further towards his opponent.
You can try very hard to see what you want to in that shot but to the unbiased eye it is very damning.

Monster Tribunal night confirmed as Giants challenge Greene, Hogan bans, Eagles appeal star's dangerous tackle

Just a heads up for all tipsters – I am going to the Carlton Geelong game this weekend and I believe Carlton are something like 1-9 from my last 10 attendences.

That punch, which Hogan admitted was swung with force, could easily have resulted in serious damage if it struck a different spot by just millimetres.

Mixed news for Giants as Greene, Hogan Tribunal verdicts revealed

Really don’t understand how deliberately 2 punches, one striking you opponent in the face is deemed acceptable in our game when players are being suspended every week for getting otherwise legitimate contests or tackles slightly wrong.

I am all for this change – I always felt that I was discriminated against by the AFL because their requirements for their participants to be “elite” prevented me from achieving my dream. After all, I wanted it I should be entitled to getting it. 😂

That said my brother played football in the Ballarat League where his teams ruckman was just a super fit but massive unit without an ounce of fat who couldn’t get into the police force because of his BMI. He had got down to a point where he looked too skinny and almost unwell and he still couldn’t meet the BMI requirements.

As long as skin folds are an accurate, healthy scientific measure there is no reason why they shouldn’t do it

Look at where his right arm is positioned in that image, he hasn’t yet left the ground but he has already brought his leading arm across his body to brace for contact.

This image is a damning piece of evidence as to why Wright got 4 weeks.

Best 22 for a team that made last years prelim final and is 5-1 indicates some sort of quality but that aside, best 22 does still mean they are better than the players that have replaced them who aren’t in the best 22.

You do realise both teams could make finals and not meet again?

Six Points: Greene lucky to only get a week, 2024's two best wins, and the moment that sums up woeful Roos

In our way you say, time will tell but it looks unlikely we will meet again.

I don’t need to convince you of anything, you agreed the are best 22 players – basic logic looks after the rest

“Oh, they may well be in their best 22 but” So they would make the best 22 of a 2023 preliminary finalist who is 5-1 in 2024 BUT they really aren’t any good? 😂

” Docherty has barely played” has 168 games under his belt played 23 in 2023 and 22 in 2022.

” Motlop is also sporadic.” Only played 2 seasons before this for 33 of 47 possible games – his last 9 games after a spell in the 2’s yielded 14 goals from 9 games – one might suggest that a third year player might improve on his output in the prior years?

“Martin is sporadic,” – certainly had his fair share of injuries but I don’t think you could find anyone who would say we aren’t a much better side with him in it.

“McGovern is a struggler.” Been very good since moving down back last year.

Six Points: Greene lucky to only get a week, 2024's two best wins, and the moment that sums up woeful Roos

After Motlop back into the side in round 18 last year he kicked 14 goals in 9 games, he had a really strong pre-season and was looking like having a breakout year – his is very much missed.

Martin averaged 1.3 goals, 0.4 goal assists and 2.4 tackles a game last year – a real key in our turnaround in the second half of the year.

Six Points: Greene lucky to only get a week, 2024's two best wins, and the moment that sums up woeful Roos

Probably not, but I don’t really have to get anywhere near my best to get the better of you Don

“that Freo was in that 2016- 2029 period” Good to see you have excuses ready for the next 5 years of failure.
“We’re talking about 10-15 best 22.” Of course you are – and none of those best 22 players could be “easily replaced” at all, but I suppose that is the thing about having depth on your list – if you have it anyone is easily replaced.

His Brother was involved in the Blues football department for a while

“When you have 10-15 out each week, you can’t compete.”

Blues had 13 on their injury list last week – including Cerra, Docherty, Saad, Martin, McGovern, Motlop & Fogarty out of the best 22 and then Marchbank, Cuningham & Silvagni on the fringe of that best 22 – they managed to do alright.

Six Points: Greene lucky to only get a week, 2024's two best wins, and the moment that sums up woeful Roos

Not really, just find it interesting that they are very quick to pot the Blues (last week, they had only had scrappy wins and their ball movement was a real problem) this week it is crickets.

Six Points: Greene lucky to only get a week, 2024's two best wins, and the moment that sums up woeful Roos

The Blues are averaging 99.5 points per game, Freo are averaging 76.3

Six Points: Greene lucky to only get a week, 2024's two best wins, and the moment that sums up woeful Roos

Yeah odd that, Carlton beating the unbeaten premiership favourites and Freo getting belted by the Eagles really should have got the same amount of praise.

Six Points: Greene lucky to only get a week, 2024's two best wins, and the moment that sums up woeful Roos

Yeah, I am enjoying that a bit but it just makes me laugh when Lloyd and Barrett have both said on that show that they don’t have Carlton in the top 4, last week they potted the Blues ball movement, said they only had “scrappy wins” and Curnow and McKay kept “bumping into each other” and then this week, immediately after banging on about how Barrett was being proved right when he predicted the cats to play in the GF they simply gloss over Carlton beating the premiership favourite despite a massive injury list as.
