I was born in Brisbane, educated and married there and my daughter was born at Royal Brisbane. Two years after I left for the greener public service pastures of Canberra, the Broncos were born. I had given up following League and was busy raising my daughter, getting promoted and breeding and showing my dogs.
In the mid 1980s I met my now husband; our first date was a Raiders game. I was instantly interested in the game again and have followed the Raiders ever since, but have kept an eye on the progress of the Broncos too.
I thought a small, largely unnoticed incident in last week’s game summarised what the Broncos have become quite neatly. Jake Turpin smacked Ryan Sutton in the jaw quite deliberately, and got away with it – but broke his hand in the process! That really sums up the last two season for me.
Maybe the Bronx have to just wait out the curse and start again from scratch?

It was 23°! If any of them liked heat they would NOT be with the Raiders. Papa and CHN were pouring water on.their heads before kickoff.

I would guess the problem is that Rugby League and computers should never be used in the same sentence? Most people remain scared of technology if it goes beyond email – how on earth can you expect to get people who understand the game and can use the technology?
