So Hooper gets 10 for someone jumping into him, and vd Merwe gets the same for elbowing someone in the head. Seems about even.

Wasn’t very impressed with Mogg tonight. It’s no good having a fullback who can’t tackle. Also, I don’t know if he was scarred from missing touch in the Super 15 final but his touch finders seemed to lack optimism. Liam Gill with his left foot could peel off 15 metres. I’d try Folou at fullback to at least get him involved…. either that or make sure the 10 (who ever that is) cross field kicks to his wing if we’re incapable of spreading the ball that far wide through the hands. JOC was a defensive liability tonight, hook him for Cummins for a bit o’ mongrel.
The worst part of the last 2 Wallaby games has been the lack of heart in defence. It’s not that hard to make your tackles and to trust the bloke beside you to make his. During the Macqueen era we defended like our lives depended on it. Do these guys even practice tackling anymore?

I was also quite impressed with the boks. Bruising forward play and a desire to chuck it wide. Still plenty of up and unders but at least they tried a few other things as well. They will be formidable in the 4N. I was happy for JdV to get a meat pie after having a torrid time against Tuilagi.
