46: Costa starts an attack from inside his own half and after a surging run from Kante and a bit of pinball outside the box Costa lets fly. His shot is well off the target much to the delight of the Manchester crowd.
United then have a throw in deep in Chelsea territory and after a nice touch by Lingard the ball falls to Young. His effort is worse than Costa’s.

43: Lingard and Rashford exchange in a lovely one-two on the edge of the box, but Cahill just about manages to deal with the danger. Chelsea break from the resulting corner. Pedro is crowded out by four red shirts.
Young is down clutching his face after a clash, but he is fine to continue.

40:Kante forgets how to use his feet down near the corner flag and gives away an embarrassing throw in to United as a result. Nothing comes of it though.
Meanwhile, Herrera is annoying Hazard to no end as he remains as his shadow all over the pitch.
United 1-0 Chelsea

38:Get your money on Costa being sent off. The Spaniard competes in the air with Rojo and the two come together for the second time in the game. Costa lands on him, while Rojo clips him around the chin in retaliation. They both act like they’ve been shot. He’s on a tightrope Costa.

35:Herrera sticking to Hazard like glue so far. He has obviously been tasked with man marking Chelsea’s main man. He gets a little too close however, and a free kick is given as Hazard goes down under his attention. The free kick is swung in from out wide, but a free kick the other way is immediately signalled for.

33: Woke up on the wrong side of the bed? Someone took the jam out of his morning donut? Whatever the reason, Diego Costa has turned up angry. He is the first man to go into the book for a late challenge on Pogba.

32:Since they were embarrassed 4-0 at Stamford Bridge, United haven’t lost in the league. It’s an impressive run, but one which has failed to materialise into anything significant after too many draws have been had at home. They have been outstanding in the opening half an hour though today. United 1-0 Chelsea

29: Chelsea’s backline haven’t adjusted to United’s pace up front as Lingard was just about flagged for offside. They were in behind them once again though.
Pogba then drives through the middle much to the delight of the home crowd, before Rashford gets in on the act by dribbling around Matic. The ball is squared eventually to Young on the edge of the box but the captain for the day gets his shot all wrong.

26:Fellaini comes together with Luiz in the centre of the pitch, with the defender winning a free-kick. The amount of curly hair involved in that duel was borderline ridiculous

25: Rashford is running Chelsea’s defence ragged as he ghosts past Moses down the left before whipping in a cross. Begovic sticks out a palm and just about manages to get it away.

23: A lot of free-kicks are being given to both sides, as each team looks to stop the others attacks.
Rashford takes the latest one from just outside the box, but Chelsea deal with it well just as Fellaini was lurking around the back.

20: With 11 wins from 16 matches away from Stamford Bridge so far this campaign, Chelsea are in possession of the division’s best away record. They have offered little so far though and will need to vastly improve here.

17: Young is free in the box and flashes a dangerous ball across the goal. Rashford tries to get on the end of it but misses it by mere centimetres. United well on top here. United 1-0 Chelsea

15: Bailly is down in the box, while Diego Costa and Rojo get into a heated debate about it all. Neither are happy with each other, but the red Robert Madley quickly brings it under control and the game is started again. It was just a late little push on Bailly by Costa himself.
Bailly gets into it again with Costa immediately, with the Spaniard beating him for pace before throwing himself to the ground. The ref buys it and awards Chelsea a free-kick, it is a waste though.

13: United are lively in these early stages and have been given a huge boost by that opening goal. It will be interesting to see if Conte tries to adjust something at the back to counteract Rashford’s pace. I think it is fair to assume that Chelsea would have been expecting to face Ibrahimovic. today and Mourinho has sprung a nice surprise.

GOAL! Marcus Rashford slots to give United an early lead.

Herrera wins the ball in his own half, with questions over wether or not he handled the ball in the process. The ref waves it on, and the Spaniard takes full advantage as he delivers an inch perfect pass into the path of Rashford. The striker beats David Luiz for pace and slides it home. United 1-0 Chelsea

7: Chelsea are compact in the early stages and are keeping a relatively high defensive line. That could be a risk against the pace of Rashford. The teenager gets the first sight on goal but drags his effort well wide from just outside the box.

5:Mourinho’s changes have created a formation that goes toe to toe with Conte’s side. It appears to be a three man defence for United, with Young and Valencia flanking out wide to support them.

So a minute has been played and United haven’t conceded. It’s a better start against their opponents than they had at Stamford Bridge last year when they were battered 4-0.

Robin Van Persie, Tom Cleverly, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra and Rafael. These are just some of the players who donned the red shirt the last time United won against Chelsea. That 3-2 victory was all the way back in October of 2012.
Since then, United have had a dreadful run against their London rivals, stretching 12 games in all.

We are underway at Old Trafford!

The big news from Old Trafford is the benching of Ibrahimovic, with the striker “very tired,” according to his manager. It is one of a number of changes Mourinho has made from the midweek clash with Anderlecht. De Gea retakes his position in goal, while Fellaini and Young also come in.

For Chelsea, their number one goalkeeper Courtois is out with Begovic coming in to replace the Belgian in between the sticks. Meanwhile, Alonso was injured in the warm-up and had to be replaced by Zouma.

Hello and welcome to The Roar’s live blog for this clash between Manchester United and Chelsea. Antonio Conte’s men saw their lead at the top cut to just four points by Tottenham yesterday, so a victory here against United will be of vital importance. Jose Mourinho’s side, on the other hand, will be desperate to keep in touch with the top four.

So, Chelsea will be extremely hard to stop from now.
All the action came in an exciting first half where two goals from Eden Hazard gave the Blues the lead twice.
Courtois made a dreadful pass which led to Silva picking up the ball and testing the Belgian, before Aguero turned in the rebound.
Fernandinho then gave away a sloppy penalty just as City had started to gain momentum in the clash. Caballero guessed right for Hazard’s spot kick, but he couldn’t keep out the follow up. It was his second of the game after slotting in a delightful strike from inside the box after just ten minutes.
Chelsea maintain their lead t the top of the table, and with a relatively kind run-in, they look to be on their way to reclaiming the league title they held two years ago.
