Chanderpaul may have got 100 if Australia hadn’t declared. Agreed – all speculation. Well done, WI!

Nice one, centurion. Like it, like it.

West Indies won by bowling well – credit should be given. The declaration also resulted in an early wicket. How do we know what that wicket is worth?

Could be a fallacy but they did take a wicket too. That has to be taken into account for this test.

Well that is a little unfortunate.

Come on Don. He’s complimenting you! Enjoy it.

The declaration was sporting (and people say Cummins is too conservative!) and great to see. The West Indies won, more so than Australia losing.

The loss was due to some poor batting but more so some excellent bowling.

He opened the batting, carried his bat under constant criticism … and you still find fault.

This was a great win for West Indies rather than a terrible loss for Australia. We really do need to get better at crediting the opposition more. Of course, there were some poor shots from Australia and strategic choices that we might re-think (always in hindsight.)

It was brilliant seeing West Indies in a superb finish. We should be enjoying it, rather than fixating on the negatives of our team. We’re not always going to win.

He starred opening the batting

Yep. But the general principles are good.

It is very unfair on Green.

You like to try this line when you’ve run out of an argument. Because we’ve done something for decades, it doesn’t mean we need to keep doing it.

It is the majority but in 10-15 years it won’t be as those under 30 are opposed to the date. The date can’t be ignored.

What? Players who have the capacity to think independently? They’re willing to challenge a day that is a ludicrous date for a national celebration.

I’m now certain that ‘woke’ doesn’t mean what you think it means.

Your assessment of the crime is accurate – must be terrible for the victim but it adds nothing whatsoever to this debate. Are you honestly suggesting that European Australians have not assaulted people? The evidence you have provided is irrelevant and yes that’s why anyone would reject it.

I don’t see how the question of Israel is remotely relevant to this issue. You are going for one smoke-screen after another. You’re going to need to reframe this question differently.

Hope he bats to the end, if they play. He’s a great talent and it’s not actually his fault that they are putting great expectations on him.

My understanding is that he also has covid? That can’t be easy with the added humidity. We should give him a chance.
