The talk was there back after the second world war, with the influx of Europeans. The again in the 1960’s under the 10 pound poms programme. Again didn’t happen. Even now with thousands of immigrants from Asia not happening. Plenty of Asians are playing AFL

'Look in our own backyard to develop the future': Leading TD calls for local hire as FA's 'disruptor'

Had 40,000 people jumped the fence in an A League game there would of been fighting amongst supporters on the ground. Players would of been attacked. And the poor ref, well heaven help him.
Come to thing of it, would not happen at an A-League match. Never get anywhere near 40,000

Covid wasn’t a problem on Friday night in the AFL at the SCG

The Socceroos won't win on the pitch when all the focus is what happens off it

Need to gget the facts. The couple are not fully vaccinated, The sports people have been double vaccinated and living in a bubble. There also checked 3 or 4 times a week.

State of play: Sporting bodies jostle to gain WA exemptions

AFLW is professional. They dont have normal jobs. Many sports in the same boat.

Richardson is poor in the outfield. Weak right arm. So can only field in close. Bad shoulder so can only dive to his left. His weak side. Apart from his bowling is a liability.

Hazlewood officially ruled out of second Test, Warner doubtful

The A-League has plenty of clear air at the moment. No AFL,or RL. No major horse racing. BBL and Test match cricket has yet to get going. So why lower than normal attendences.
Even the weather cant be blamed

Football has lost its soul in Australia and only the fans can save it now

They began to see the side effects of what the egg ball codes can do to both physical and mental health,
Sorry you failed to mention the mental effects of heading the ball in soccer

Football has lost its soul in Australia and only the fans can save it now

The fact of the matter is soccer in Australia is a sport that sports fans will watch in the summer prior to test matches and the BBL start up.
Back after the end of WW2 when Australia took many eastern european migrants soccer was expected to take off due to those people wanting to establish themselves in Australia. Didnt happen.
The massive influx of 10 pd Poms in the 1960/1970’s was expected to create interest in soccer. Didn’t happen.
Soccer will have it’s place in Australian sport. But until it restructures it’s will always be a poor cousin to AFL,RL.

The AFL and NRL have nothing to fear from the A-League

“AFL no-one else plays”
Is played in nearly every country. Plenty of ex Australians that have created their own competition. When there is no competition as such ,plenty of social matches with a BBQ and beers after. Hard to make the voice heard over soccer in Europe, and South America. Same getting a voice in the USA

The AFL and NRL have nothing to fear from the A-League

The game in Australia is rubbished because of the lack of entertainment. Watched some of the soccer in the Olympics. Well tried to. Dozed of. Boring. Back passing. Not attacking at all

Why do some people enjoy rubbishing the Socceroos?

You failed to mention the millions that it costs to fly socceroos players around the world, accommodate etc etc.

What the Premier League and its 'soulless embrace of capitalism' can learn from Aussie rules

Did Perth Glory pay for the stadium? No way. Paid by state and local government

What the Premier League and its 'soulless embrace of capitalism' can learn from Aussie rules

If Darling is traded it will be to a low club looking for players that want an ex good player to possibly show some old form. Gold coast. Ala Garry Abblett

Flying high? Not likely, as the West Coast Eagles might be headed straight down

The statement ” “what are the numbers now” and cast an eye on “what were the numbers and what are the numbers forecasted to be.” has been used for the past 20 years in Australian soccer. Every year the attendance numbers drop. This season will be no different.

Women’s football in Australia: Start making noise now

Amazing that there is an article about womans football/soccer, but none about the mens poor performance.

The moment Australian women's football grew up

Whose Peter Norman?

All 11,500 athletes in Tokyo should be taking a knee

You have an eastern states bias. Just like the bushfires of early 2020, that supposably affected all Australians when in fact only a small part of Australia was burnt and a smaller population. WA,SA,NT Tas and Qld was not affected at all. Most of NSW, and a high percentage of Victoria not in the spotlight. At the time of writing/typing most of Australia is not “locked in their homes”. Take of the blinkers and stop listening, watching the left wing media to which most journalists belong to

All 11,500 athletes in Tokyo should be taking a knee

The goal umpire was not confused. Indicated a touched ball straight away

Amusing moment as Sam Menegola confuses the umpires with his rushed behind effort

Never played at Optus

How fair is the A-League if Melbourne City can't host the grand final?

There are far more interesting sports to cover

Will Ten and Paramount change football’s media coverage?

Notice that the ABC has risen since the A-League left

Will Ten and Paramount change football’s media coverage?

If you don’t watch the game then how do you know how it’s played?

Will Ten and Paramount change football’s media coverage?

It seems that poor crowd behaviour is common amongst footballs so called fans around the world.

There's a fine line between active support and anti-social behaviour

Where is the ” statistically proven” crowd issues? You forgot to add.
