Apologies in advance, asking because I genuinely dont know.
All the experts, please weigh in..

What do these League fellas get paid?
Surely its nowhere close to J1 or T14 money?

Done deal: Wallabies star signs with NRL powerhouse in brutal reality check for RA at start of 'golden decade'

Thanks for writing this.
The mark of a good article is when someone puts to paper (in much better wording) , what a lot of people are thinking and experiencing.
Ties in with my experience at grass roots, where we havent seen RA/professionals really ever.
Intellectual capital is what RA needs, not to reinvent the wheel.
Its the same as any good organisation, if you want change, go get the people who have done it before and get them to action the lessons that have worked elsewhere.

Rugby Australia needs to target the NRL and AFL's best talent - but not on the field

Wahahahaah! Yes, love it, Smash ‘n Grab 2.0.
Cos the first time it worked. So well. So damn well.

How do you drag the Wallabies from the gutter to the Lions in 2025? You harvest the pick of the NRL crop

Took the words outta my mouth.
Yes. Please. Put a bunch of leagies in and win the world cup.
Even Eddie wasnt that brazen.

This feels like a judiciary (that happens in rugby) hearing.

I’m not making an allegation, I was making a point.

I’m not sure I’m prepared to accept that it was a purely accidental collision, and I think that the player who was injured influenced the decision of the ref.

I cant be more balanced than that Piru. You clearly aren’t up for being objective, and that’s ok.

SPIRO ZAVOS: 'Crazy brave' Boks are a team for the ages - but key decisions cleared their path to glory

Sigh.
Why?
Mate, you’ve never played or coached, if you havent identified a threat and tried to take it out.
By way of example, this year, a team I coach was playing a team with a killer former brumby, and I had to tell my flanker to stop targeting the player, as I knew what was happening. In his head, taking the guy outta the game was worth a card.
It happens. That you cant see that is not me being ignorant, its either you being naive or plain silly.

SPIRO ZAVOS: 'Crazy brave' Boks are a team for the ages - but key decisions cleared their path to glory

I’ll be clearer for you.
Go read my comment again which is a response to the one above it about how ridiculous that yellow card was.
Many, including myself, don’t think that was ridiculous, just odd. But if he didn’t sustain an injury, would he have gotten a card? I think maybe not, were it not an injury to a critical player, would Barnes have possibly reacted differently? Maybe. Does cynicism play a part in ref decisions? Literally a criteria when making decisions.
In the context of this article, which is pretty heavily AB leaning, what I’m saying is that its a talking point that AB fans are not mentioning.
Was it cynical? Apparently you think not. Cool.

SPIRO ZAVOS: 'Crazy brave' Boks are a team for the ages - but key decisions cleared their path to glory

Wasn’t this the issue with the QF (SF?) when they pulled Psdt off for an HIA? Everyone complained that the coaches shouldnt have been able to make that call(?)
Its a bit reckless that Kriel stayed on.

SPIRO ZAVOS: 'Crazy brave' Boks are a team for the ages - but key decisions cleared their path to glory

Totally agree.

SPIRO ZAVOS: 'Crazy brave' Boks are a team for the ages - but key decisions cleared their path to glory

Sure. We’re not cynical here. Super dumb comment.
Sportspeople don’t target danger players.
Ask JBarrett if Pieter Steph didnt try and hurt him.

SPIRO ZAVOS: 'Crazy brave' Boks are a team for the ages - but key decisions cleared their path to glory

I didn’t want to get sucked in but..
Lets assume we arent cynical, lets assume that no one knew that the boks were weakest at 2, with no real cover.
Take out the hooker, and (probably) take out the lineout and scrum dominance – which happened.
Sure. He magically just happened to pop Mbonambi’s MCL. Coming in from the side and dropping on his knee.
Sure. Complete accident.

Cane- we’ve seen this all tournament. Hit someone directly in the head with your shoulder.. and its a Red. Done. Case closed. Move on.
The travesty is that they didnt pull Kriel for an HIA (as they couldn’t). If anything we should be looking at the bok coaching team and asking that question.

SPIRO ZAVOS: 'Crazy brave' Boks are a team for the ages - but key decisions cleared their path to glory

But he would not go back to the Cheetahs.. would he?
Like I said, it’d be a coup.
An amazing feat. Possibly awesome for rugby in Australia.
But I doubt he would consider it.

Exclusive: Path clear for McKellar to return as Wallabies coach despite Leicester job, Cheika's update on future

It’d be a coup.
But Rassie wont do it. Not enough players in the system. Imagine changing from a gig where you are a national hero, to one where you are a villian from day 1..

Exclusive: Path clear for McKellar to return as Wallabies coach despite Leicester job, Cheika's update on future

Lets hope Wiese catches the ball this time. I never understand that guy, he plies his trade in the wet, but drops a lot of ball.

COMPLETE RWC finals teams: All Blacks' answer to Boks' bold 7-1 bench call, Smith returns for England

Call Jake White.
He said he would consider renewing his visa.
He doesnt know anything about league, win record is 6.6/10.

No crybabies, no league tragics, no Eddie Jones - the next Wallaby coach checklist

Jissis ek het gelag at this comment.
This Bok squad.. I’ve got more problems with it. Not even a 6/2.
5/3 and dad doesn’t start ? Foei tog.

RWC News: Irish claim 'bizarre' spy drama shows Kiwi 'paranoia', Boks send clear message to BOK, Dupont's big fear

Go back to the league page. 😂

World Cup team of the pool stage: Irish domination, minnows surprise, one Wallaby makes the cut

Anyone else thinking its strange that the bloke from the league page wrote this…?
Checking its not April… its not… Ok..

REPORT: Eddie Jones to quit Wallabies and join Japan as head coach

But imagine playing McFarland in a squad thats more structured and where he doesn’t have to do the work of 3 players. Underrated before the tourney he was, admittedly not by me but still. Lineout – tick, carries – double tick, offloads – double tick, tackles – tick. .
Him + JvdF.. lord have mercy.

World Cup team of the pool stage: Irish domination, minnows surprise, one Wallaby makes the cut

And the Scotland team.. and the Namibian team and the Samoan team. And the all black team and the Tongan team 😂

No players, no pathways, no results - Are we making Eddie Jones an easy scapegoat for Australia's broken Rugby system?

Agree with the first half here.

Time for revolution: A hostile takeover of Australian rugby, led by Twiggy, is the only thing that will save it

I was with you until “rugby boards move away from the Northern hemisphere controlled rubbish the game has evolved into“.

Its pedantic at that level because the margins are so close. SA/IRE was a showcase of this not boring, yeah my wife didnt love it like she loved watching the WAL/Fiji game, but she never played rugby so I can live with that, it was entertaining in a different way.

To your point of coaches and age rugby- couldnt agree more.
I’d add – running to league because thats where everyone is.

No players, no pathways, no results - Are we making Eddie Jones an easy scapegoat for Australia's broken Rugby system?

Yeah I keep scratching my head on this.
On paper its actually a pretty exciting team. Which means its the coaches fault right?
The Portugal team has part timers that look well coached and put up a fight.
But also, not many players in the Wallabies would make the Welsh, Eng, Ire, AB’s sides I think…

No players, no pathways, no results - Are we making Eddie Jones an easy scapegoat for Australia's broken Rugby system?

Someone caught me! Both you and Skippy saw through me and gave me a yellow.
Yes, Eddie has made some madcap decisions.
RA.. Rubber chicken to a gunfight.

No players, no pathways, no results - Are we making Eddie Jones an easy scapegoat for Australia's broken Rugby system?

All valid.
The choice of assistant coaches as I said, was ludicrous.
I tried not to bash EJ here. But as I said, a great coach can get an average team to win. This isnt an average team, its pretty good on paper. But the problem is bigger than that.
