id have tendulkar as my number 1 with lara a very close second. i think in the end tendulkar’s longevity in the game has to be taken into account, as he is still playing pretty well almost 25 years after he debuted. lara was perhaps a more brilliant batsman, but either way there is hardly anything to split the two.
and for me id have kallis as 3rd and punter 4th
The greatest batsmen of the modern era: #2 Sachin Tendulkar
ponting didn’t really need to make bold decisions, with warne and mcgrath all he needed to do was give them the ball and then keep things simple. it may not be ‘nascent leadership’ but it got the job done. sometimes the simple things work
The greatest batsmen of the modern era: #2 Sachin Tendulkar
I assume Horwill will take the leadership back when he is fit again, he’s been the first-choice wallabies captain since they took it off rocky elsom and others have only captained when horwill has been unfit to play. don’t think this will change when horwill comes back from injury
Mowen set to begin a long reign as Wallaby captain
I think even the Souths players were surprised when the Chambers effort was called a no-try

lucky that superstars dont need to be in form to be picked

i understand how a jersey change could boost merch sales and help improve club relations with their fans. As brianna said below, it is important for members to have a say in running the club. i just dont think that the jersey is bad, or bad enough to warrant changing back to the old design. its just a jersey, one of the many factors that makes up a footy club.
i am a lions fan, being a brissy boy, but i dont see how a simple emblem change will make much difference to the club itself.
Put the Paddlepop Lion back in the freezer
y so fired up vince rugari, if you aren’t even a supporter of the club?
Put the Paddlepop Lion back in the freezer
umm no souths arent the only team in contention. silly article
Is Souths the only real title contender?
Agree with most of the article except about mat rogers, who i thought was a very good rugby player. and he did have a rugby brain, the bloke played flyhalf for australia at both junior and senior international level. wendell and tahu on the other hand…
I was dead-set wrong about Folau
i fail to see how geoff needs a comeback in this situation, he wasn’t proved wrong

just on point 1: can the goalkeeper then handle the ball all the way out to the touchline?
some interesting ideas and i would like to see the changes that might happen to the game if it were played to these new laws. the only thing i’d say is it takes out the ability that lots of strikers have to make a curved run and beat the offside trap, potentially setting up a 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper, something that can be one of the most exciting plays in football.
Football's offside rule needs a makeover
some good points made roarlover, although i do love seeing berisha flaunt the laws. but going by fifa’s reluctance on goal-line technology, it might be another 50 years before we see changes
Football's offside rule needs a makeover
i think the wallabies will easily be able to solve this whole situation about player eligibility in one foul swoop – lets send Quade Cooper back to NZ.
hopefully the kiwis will love having their star player back, i assume the fans will
Australasian rugby's 120 year swap meet
im a fan of the interchange cap, in fact i think it should be a lot lower. i look at the NFL in america and cant help but think that with a few changes to AFL in regards to stoppages we might have a game where half the team is subbed off during a stoppage to provide a the teams with different options in attack and defence
Why the AFL needs to scrap interchange cap
