Head out cutting, colour me surprised….
This is getting pretty damning in my view, until he can get a handle on that shot I don’t see how he can hope to be a truely competent test batsmen, he had a fine start to his test career, but that shot is causing his downfall too often.

So consistent, and now a century, next up to repeat it in tests.
Also, er, maybe he isn’t that far out of contention of a one day squad position? Probably not but if he keeps this up maybe sometimes next year.

Yeah, Gabba continues to look a good wicket to bowl on. I think Labs has been the best Queensland bat over the last two games pretty easily, was excellent work staying in tonight with the massive collapse the bulls had. I just love his nuggety style, stay in, always get a chance.
Mind you, the Queensland batting line up hasn’t exactly shined so far this season, definitely has the hardest wicket to play on though.

Two things.
1. What is Queensland doing? Collapsing like nobodies business. I said at the start of the season that they had one of the best looking top order with burns/Renshaw/Khawaja/Labs, but so far they have looked verrryy sketchy
2. I am getting incredibly frustrated at the commentator for the Gabba match constantly mispronouncing Labuschagne, I don’t expect SA pronounciation, but adding extra ‘n’s is awful. Labnuschaneeee.

Labs is a good part-timer, but seems to be juuussst the right amount of part-timer for people to try stuff and get out to him, he makes stuff happen.

That was truely appalling batting, that’s the kind of shot/timing that should put a big black mark next to his name for a while. Needs a lot better judgement to make it at test level, still think he is the obvious replacement once Paine goes, but that was not a good look.

The Queensland game continues to offer little and everything.
On the one hand burns’ fifty really indicates nothing, not enough to start pushing for a place, but not such a failure that we can write him off.
Khawaja looked really good before throwing it away again which… continues his batting from the ashes and tells us nothing.
Queensland’s batting flop again showed that the Gabba wicket will continue to be sporting pitch this year and that the batting order is not performing so far, Renshaw doesn’t look likely to find any form to make any sort of outside case for selection.
And Marnus holding out to close and almost reaching 50 continues to show his consistency, assuming they go for a result tomorrow (who knows) doubt there will be time to try and convert a likely 50 to a 100 so at least this time I won’t hold a non-convert against him, really hope he makes a big score soon though, his consistency has been impressive, he is keen to not give his wicket away, but he needs to hit that 100.

Marnus is really not a bad bowling back up, and already getting the reputation of “things happen” when he bowls.

Warners innings should be applauded, he has played well, but the pitch is still not flat like Junction, its certainly not a minefield and never was, I do think the pitch looks to be behaving a little better today, but Queensland’s batting was pretty subpar yesterday, though the NSW bowling was excellent too, they also deserve credit.

Yeah, even if he gets nothing from now, I reckon he has already done enough in the selectors eyes, he was close to a lock anyway I’m sure.

Desperately, its still not the easiest pitch to bat on, and the bowling is good, if they get one a lot more could follow.

Gabba deck looking a bit better to bat on today, and I don’t think the Queensland team is quite as good as NSW were yesterday, but it certainly isn’t Junction Oval facing SA, so Warner making runs is good to see, I suppose. Scoring definitely looks easier here.

Again its a road down there, but he hit a nice looking century in a very calm manner, he certainly doesn’t mind batting time which I approve of.

I already like the look of Labs at 3, just seems to be a bit more gritty than Ussie to hold his wicket. But interesting to see what they decide.

That. Was. Terrible. By Queensland, they had that for sure, and royally screwed it up. Fair play to zampa though, he hit it very sweetly.
It’s kinda sad that Marnus Labuschagne’s innings was in vain, because it was excellent.
