I really don’t like Brown as a player, but I agree. Good legs speed and aggression might be exactly what the doctor ordered. The Walker for Keary change is confusing to me. Seems like Nsw have a lot of forwards who’s key asset is being able to play a strong 80 minutes.

Team was just announced so it’s a bit of a moot point but I would’ve kept Cleary. I know he was probably the worst of the bunch but I think he’s got it in him. I definitely thought he was really shallow when catching the ball for kicks.
I can’t believe Papenhuyzen wasn’t picked for game 2. Baffling, unless he’s injured.

Probably fair and I’m aware that most of these changes won’t and probably shouldn’t happen. But I do 100% think Wighton should be the 5/8 but agree with the notion of sticking with the team and letting them figure it out. One of the reasons I was so unhappy with Klem being left out. All rants are welcome here!

Agreed mate, don’t think there’s any chance Cleary gets dropped but he definitely should be close.I just find it difficult to get my brain around not having the Dally-M in his position. Spot on, thought Walker looked dangerous in his limited time.

Yeah I agree. I think in a normal origin situation my changes would be less jarring with two weeks in between and the discards not having breakfast with the bloke that took his spot.

Began the article by stating the opposite. You’re right about Keary probably being better in the next game after getting his debut out of the way. I hope he does. I’m well aware teams aren’t changed Willy Nilly, just my thoughts mate.

Ease up Nat. The blues forwards more than matched the maroons in the first half and the halves still failed to complete a set with a good kick. I dropped four players and gave what I thought was an alright argument as to why. Thanks for having a read, feel free to give your thoughts on the game.

Haha you’ll get no argument from me about anger clouding my judgement, Paul. I agree it wasn’t why they lost, I do think however that they were denied the oppurtunity to make something happen with one more play against 12 men. — You’re probably right about Cleary. I like to think that when a 23 year old halfback does what he did this year you give them a bit of leeway and hope they work it out but it is true that he has shown us nothing in the Blues jersey. Im not sure who you would replace him with. — I didn’t think Gutherson was too bad. Obviously the Capewell miss is a mark against him but apart from that I thought he was okay. He doesn’t get much credit for the Fox’s two tries but he did get good ball to him when some wouldn’t. I don’t particularly like any of the options that would replace him, I like his energy and think he will be better for it next game.
