I think many fans had their doubts as to whether the Scuderia could keep fighting with Mercedes after last seasons good performance in Australia and then huge dip in results, but its a great sign that even after the upgrades in Spain they were still very close.

Now its time for them to grab some more wins, and Raikonnen to hopefully deliver some better results!

Ferrari must retain the faith

For sure! I 100% agree that he deserves a second chance with a competitive car.
His performances lately in the Force India have been incredible, and as you said, he has played a huge role in shaping that team into what they are today.

And I also agree with the second year outcome at McLaren, but with a team like that they want everything done yesterday. They want results as quickly as possible being such a front running team, but Sauber and Force India don’t quite have the same expectations being in the midfield, thus giving him more chance to prove his worth.

Hopefully we can see him in a higher team for the future, because I can certainly agree with you that while he has had his ups and downs, he has been mighty quick in his career beforehand, and for the last two or so years! Maybe Ferrari would be in the market for him next year…

Thank you for commenting, its great to have discussions like these.

Let's talk Sergio Perez

Great article!
Hoping Red Bull can really put up a challenge with the B-spec car, and also hoping that Ferrari and Mercedes can stay close, it makes for a very exciting season.

Why the Spanish Grand Prix is about more than racing

Thanks Ben for your comment!

Give him another year to prove he is consistent enough for a higher seat, and then lets see where he ends up!

Let's talk Sergio Perez

Hi John, thanks for the comment!

In terms of consistency I am talking about his lack of consistency as a whole over his career, not in the short term, as he has gone from poor in 2011 to good in mid-2012 to bad in late-2012 , 2013, and at times in 2014, then back to good in 2015 and 16.
This has made him inconsistent overall in his career, but as you mentioned and I said in the article he has been very consistent in the recent short term.
This overall inconsistency is a large issue for his career, which is why I said if he remains consistently good in 2017 then 2018 could see him in a higher team.

Let's talk Sergio Perez

Alright well that pun was very well done.
Its desperate for Haas to fix the issue, you can’t get far in F1 without the essentials like brakes!

Haas issues reach braking point

Red Bull are, and have always been, and interesting team in Formula One. When I say interesting I mean that they can be very controversial, but also a force to reckon with at the same time. I mean just take 2015 when Red Bull had a shocker and kept threatening to pull out of F1! I do hope they stay though, it’s great for them to be in the sport considering their massive media presence and popularity with people.

Great article, as per usual!

Does Formula One need Red Bull?

Gave me a heart attack, but think it could very much be a real option for McLaren!
Great article Bayden, as per usual!

McLaren dumps Honda, reunites with Mercedes

Hi Matt, yes for sure its a very common thing for sporting leagues to buy teams for a variety of reasons, and while it could work in F1 and is a good idea, I do have some hesitations.

Firstly, owning a team and running the sport at the same time presents a conflict of interest. No matter how good that junior team gets they’ll be subject to criticism non-stop from fans if they do do well, and the people working at the team whether that be engineers or drivers will always be very restricted to being at the back of the grid.
Also, if that team goes through any kind of difficulties or scandals like other teams those issues get immediately associated with F1, therefore damaging their reputation.

Overall, a great idea but maybe just a little too much risk for a company as big as Formula One.

Thanks so much for your continued support of me, it means a lot, and I’m sorry for not getting back to you sooner, my internet’s been absolutely shockers lately!

Manor has fallen into administration

He wasn’t ever going to go to Mercedes in the first place, everyone in F1 knows.
Red Bull would never let Mercedes take one of their drivers, especially with them being rivals.

Ricciardo won't be switching to Mercedes to fill Rosberg's shoes

Haha I agree with Rodney, not just Hamilton’s little outbursts (take Malaysia) but also the way they wouldn’t let them race in Abu Dhabi was very disappointing
Great article yet again!

Back to front: F1 season review — fight at the front

Mercedes needs stability in Hamilton, they’ve got enough to worry about, so I’m not surprised at this move.
As for the decision in itself, they just should’ve let them race, it’s kind of ridiculous.
Great write up.

Hamilton escapes punishment, Mercedes say their orders were wrong

Thanks very much for reading Jawad!
Yeah for sure I think Magnussen needs to get stuck into his racing at a team with long term prospects, which would be Haas for sure. Grosjean could prove an obstacle to getting a Ferrari seat, but we’ll see what happens.
As for Sauber, I agree, I think they might encounter some difficulty next season even with the funding because of the engine, but I hope they do better than this season.
Manor could really be a weapon in 2017 with funding coming through and Mercedes greatly helping them along.
Thanks so much for reading it means a lot to have experienced Journalists like yourself comment on my articles so thank you.

F1 2016: The battle of the backmarkers

Thanks so much Bayden!
I for sure think that if Sauber continues to be motivated to get points just like they were at Brazil this year, they should have a good season next year, and also with those new funds they’ll have in the bank.
Palmer for sure is just a fill in driver for 2018, I can totally agree with what you’re saying, unless he puts in a crazy good performance next season.
Very true about Magnussen, he could easily be in a Ferrari if he succeeds at Haas.
Thanks very much for reading, it means a lot.

F1 2016: The battle of the backmarkers

Very good to hear! Not a big fan of the track, but at least we’re getting a new grand prix!
Not 100% sure that F1’s back on track, we still are going to lose a few races in the years to come, but its definitely a good step forward.
Great article as per the usual Bayden!

French GP return shows Formula One moving in right direction

Very true about Kyat, he needs to do well in next season and find a way out of the Red Bull driver program, because at this point he isn’t going anywhere.

Formula One season in review Part 1: Three drivers who had a season to forget

Haha yeah I’m with Rodney I thought he’s end up in Formula E for 2017. I thought Renault wanted great things from next year, so why did they sign Palmer back?

Back to front: Formula One season review — the battle at the back

Thanks so much mate! It really means a lot to have your support!
You sound like the ultimate sports fan look at all those sports!
Can’t wait for next season to start up, plenty of articles to come!

Rosberg's gone, so who takes his seat?

“His family will be enriched for his selfless act. Instead of the media’s glare, the Rosbergs will be enjoying a vastly simpler life.” I hadn’t really thought about it in this way before, and it really made me think. I mean, Nico did what suits him and if he wants to live simpler and settle down with his family then so be it, thats how he wants it, so good on him for making his own decisions and not just doing what he thought everyone wanted him to do. Great article Bayden as per the usual!

Nico does it his way. It's in his blood

Matt for starters thank you very much for reading and leaving a comment, it means a lot to know that people are generally interested in the articles I write so thanks so much.
Totally agree with Red Bull, I’m sure Mercedes will give it a shot at some point, probably just to rattle the ship at Red Bull, but as you said, Red Bull’s going to dig in their hills on those two.
Wherlein looks like a great option, as you’ve said, but it really does come down to whether Mercedes could take a risk on his inexperience.
Wow! I totally forgot about Carlos Sainz! Very very true, he’s a great driver and I’ve been watching Gasly for about a year now and the rumours he’s spread throughout this season about him going to Toro Rosso have been hilarious to watch. With that sort of talent on the sidelines, I think Toro Rosso wouldn’t be hurting too much to let him go. Btw, liked the pun mate haha.
Once again thank you so much for your great comment and your read, it means a lot so thanks very much.

Rosberg's gone, so who takes his seat?

Haha no Simoc I’m not a racer myself as in karting, yet my love of racing has been around ever since I was little.
It’s all a matter of opinion really, I personally feel that its becoming a bit to commercialised with races with horrible courses like Baku that are just there for money, but I think I just want quality over quantity.

As for darts, mate if I covered darts I think i’d let myself be the board and have them peg darts at my face. It’s really not for me.

Thanks for reading the article!

How Lewis Hamilton can still win the title

Quite true, 2014 and 2015 were very simple championships for Hamilton, with an inferior team mate and a car miles ahead of everyone else. He isn’t ever going to be in the company of the greats, solely because championships such as the 2015 one were handed to him on a silver platter.

The title showdown: Rosberg vs Hamilton

For sure, I don’t like the courses of Abu Dhabi, Azerbaijan or Russia, nor do I like the huge amount of advertising and publicity they get just because they have such huge budgets, and then we face the prospect of losing some of the greatest tracks in F1 such as Italy! Completely unwanted, but money is a crucial factor for F1.
