Who’s up for a bar fight? Let Port and Collingwood settle it on the field
I’ve got a big problem with it being used period Adam, I find the whole thing an affront on my club and especially guernsey and I will defend it to the hilt. The thing Port supporters can’t seem to understand is this the AFL not the SANFL and what you did in that comp is irrelevant to what you do in this comp, it’s tiresome and I’m deadset over it, we were here first and that’s not being respected

Really, that’s your first column and you start off by saying you’re don’t support either team. I find the nagging about the prison bars nauseating, for one we have had the black and white stripes longer in this competition than anyone else. To suggest we have to play a game against a team to somehow have the right to wear the black and white stripes is insulting. So what sort of guernsey would you like us to wear if we lost, this whole thing is a really bad joke. As far as I’m concerned the CFC and it’s fans have been completely disrespected by this constant nagging about wearing our black and white stripes by the whole of the PAFC and I think we deserve a little more respect. We tolerated it for the Heritage rounds and look where that got us, my personal opinion has always been, whenever you entered the AFL, that’s when your history started in this comp and I don’t care what you were or wore before that, Go Pies !!!!

I’m really excited as well about what the kids can produce for the rest of the season. So many of them taking the opportunity that’s presented to them with both hands and feet lol !! I’ve been fortunate to have been able to go to most of the games and to watch them up close has been a thrill. The team now understands where we are at and now the shackles have been released, we can really see how they go with an attacking mindset and a license to show us what they’ve got. McCreery, Bianco, Murphy, Henry and Poulter have been absolute nuggets that we have found. Add to that Quaynor, Daicos, Noble and young Nick Daicos coming on board next year makes for a huge amount of optimism. We get Darcy back with Jeremy and the beast Maynard with Isaac, Murphy and co learning the defensive ropes from them will be great. Brodie is getting back to his best and the old firm of Pendles, Sidebottom and Adams are still getting us good midfield ball. I truly believe with the young group we have and we get ourselves a coach that brings an attacking mindset and can get the best out of them , the sky is the limit, Go Pies !!!

Love the passion and excitement Bloke, great read !! That’s the one I’ve been looking for all year, we played with dare and flare and to see us gut running up the middle in the last was brilliant. I was lucky enough to be at the game and the boys created a little bit of spirit that night, the self belief will be gold !! We really play our best footy when we take it on and I’m very grateful to Harvey for releasing the shackles and playing the kids. When someone is banging the door down in the magoos, he picks them and gives them a run, like hopefully young Ginnivan does in the coming weeks. I’ve been very fortunate to have been to most of our games this season and when we bring real effort, we look so much better. Hopefully this and the Melbourne win not only proves to the group but to prospective coaches as well, that we have something very positive to work with for the future, Go Pies !!

I don’t believe anyone should be discriminated against for their religious beliefs, the same as I don’t believe anyone should be for their sexual or political beliefs. I’ve seen a lot of players allowed to play for doing a hell of a lot worse than Folau has ever done and been allowed multiple chances as well. I would have thought that the powers that be in league would be more concerned with the way some of their players are behaving in respect to women, drugs or alcohol. I absolutely agree with the notion of, if you don’t want to be entertained by something then don’t go in but don’t deny anybody else’s right to spend their hard earned how they like. I have my beliefs and I hope people would respect those beliefs, even if they don’t agree with them because I would always do the same for them, I think sadly we have ventured a long way from that. I’ve always had this romantic notion that sport is able to transcend all of our societies prejudices and just play for the love of the particular sport and the competitiveness that comes with that, maybe those days are long gone, I hope not.

I’ve been watching the Lions coming for a while, they got Chris Fagan first which was the best acquisition since Matthews. They got Cameron and picked up Neale which once he got settled in, accelerated their advancement no end. Then they got Daniher and all of sudden Hipwood grows a leg and they now have a very potent three headed monster up forward. It’s also great to see a lot young home grown talent coming through their ranks as well. After their statement game against the Cats, they are the real deal and the premiership window is wide open.

Terrific assessment Bloke, it sure was a roller coaster and it was great to be back on the ride !! I was lucky enough to be at the game and they are a little bit extra special after a lockdown, the atmosphere in the last was electric!! My expectations for the rest of the season are low, I want to see the players given a license to play with a bit of natural flare, take the game on at every opportunity and see what happens. Too many times we were still going around the love handles sides of the ground and not enough up the guts. My highlight for the game was Trent Bianco, he kicked a very important last quarter goal and is getting better with every game he is playing for us. Poulter and Murphy are trying their hearts out and it was a bloody shame when McCreery went down because he’s a little trier too !! Win, loss is irrelevant to me, I just want to see what our players young, old and in between have got for the rest of the year and hopefully Bloke that will be worth getting off our seats for, Go Pies !!
