Luv'd aussie rules for over 50 years. Luv the gradual emergence of a truly national and balanced competition.

All GF winners win “several……..blah blah” to get to and win GF’s. Saints and Freo are no different. As for the rest of your comment…………….your imagination buddy, not mine.

Fremantle sacks Ross Lyon and CEO

Seems you’re right Spruce………….he does seem like an intractable guy. Saints and Freo GF losses would have been devastating, I feel for him. Both would have been deserving if you ask me, but no slight on the actual winners either.

Fremantle sacks Ross Lyon and CEO

Glass half full/half empty. Unlucky coach, could have had a couple of prem’s now, but not to be. seems like an astute football person, but performance is everything (not money or member “numbers”) so, club pulls the trigger, fair enough.

Fremantle sacks Ross Lyon and CEO

This is a shame and a significant loss for Sydney’s list. Unfortunate but in hindsight explainable. Imagine the lower body/leg stresses on a defender who has to try to nullify the likes of his opponents over the last 10 years. Great player and clubman. Hope he can give something of his experience to the team as a coach or mentor going forward.

Sydney premiership star Nick Smith calls time on AFL career

He’s a bit of a downhill skier though. Good, but not great.

The AFL’s most modern player is ready for the big time

It’s my opinion. You pull the word “fact” out of a hole. Anyhoo; so you agree they will continue to fade with Bevo there? Their list doesn’t play top 8 standard more than once a month?

It’s time for the Western Bulldogs to grow up

Whilst Beveridge is there I believe they will continue to fade. His GF success had nothing whatever to do with coaching. The story is plain to see since then. EW will leave a big hole to fill for sure. Across their list it is simply a case of inconsistency to perform at top 8 level. They’ve had a pretty good last 6 weeks or so, but your forgiving assessment is just the opinion of a fan. We can all make an optimistic case for our team, some just have to do so a hell of a lot more than others.

It’s time for the Western Bulldogs to grow up

Strikes me this year, solid mid and late season improvement from mid and lower sides; eg NM, Car, StK, certainly Bris, maybe a couple of others. Swans showed some but really have run out of steam…….ok, on to next year. Melb and one or two others, disappointing. Contenders are, by now, obvious as usual. Good luck to them.

Five talking points from AFL Round 20

Congrats Rhyce, based on this news.

Rhyce Shaw to be appointed full-time coach at North Melbourne

WCE, Geelong to win away (genuinely) and Richmond to win at home against Melb….also at home sort of. The rest to win at home (genuinely).

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 20

Luckiest man in coaching.

Defiant Buckley insists Pies aren't far off

Peter’s probably right Dingo, but (hypothetically) a rabid Bris might frighten the WCE on the day enough to make it interesting or more. Remember what Rich did to Adel a few years back. A bit more of a stretch ‘cos i don’t see WCE dropping their bottom lip like Adel did, but you never know.

Outside chance Nic Nat may return for finals

Wow, there has been some serious rubbish on this site about other coaches, but this decision? No wonder the dude is smiling, talk about fortuitous outcomes.

Bulldogs coach Beveridge signs big extension

Ok, thanks guys, you don’t pick this stuff up from Nsw. Interesting, is he really more demure than say Goodwin, more introvert than Pyke (would have us believe). Maybe it’s not public persona but how he commands the players. Surely they still do that?

Who's the best candidate to replace Alan Richardson?

Is the idea of R Harvey to StK on the table? If not now, ever under some kind of succession? Anyone?

Who's the best candidate to replace Alan Richardson?

Haven’t that analogy for footy before, but it’s a good one. I think Carlton will get this one.

Someone with a bit of nous, well done.

Bottom 8.

Ratten.

Who's the best candidate to replace Alan Richardson?

Away wins Swans, WCE, WB. The rest at home. The top 4 sides should be able to win every week from here in, esp if playing b8.

Then you’ll agree the use of the “royal we” by you is no longer applicable then, right? Bye.
