Live the dream. A bit of a sports fan / diehard, I love nothing more than watching the Brisbane Broncos, Manchester United, San Francisco 49ers or any competitive sport available at the time. MMA will be the biggest sport on the planet in 20 years.

Kelly going down is a real shame, the kid is electric. Just to think, 2 years ago he was playing fullback for the Sharks and dropped 5-6 bombs in the one game.

Broncos, Sea Eagles post wins

Can’t write the Doggies off, it’s only round 5. Can’t believe the bookies had us at $2.55 or thereabouts against the Titans, we always have enough travelling fans to make it a pseudo-home game.

Test footy won’t hold any weight with me until we get some consistent, hard nosed footy. Too often it’s only Australia and New Zealand in the running, and even then NZ have only been a challenge for about 5 years or so. I must admit, the talent pool in England is starting to grow and the Burgess boys are impressive to watch.

It's Origin time once again

City Country doesn’t even hit my radar – it’s just a chance for Blues prospects to injure themselves. Origin is the pinnacle of the season, unless your team makes a finals run, nothing wrong with getting a bit excited!

Giving penalties for being unco, thats new.

2nd one they’ve missed

Awful defence from Brisbane there.

“And I swear I saw the guitarist reach for his calf at one point. Pure Shane Watson.” You had me with this line, good write up haha. Not sure I could go a weekend without!

How to survive a weekend without sport

Up the Broncos! Hoffman confirmed late, hopefully he is 100%.

I’ll take FitzSimons any day of the week – at least he’s not on every channel I watch.

FitzSimons vs Waterhouse: the lesser of two evils?

If he can consistently make 185 then he should stay there – I want to see him against a great striker first

Gustafsson and Mousasi are the future of UFC's light heavyweight

What impressed me about TeHuna was the heart he showed against Jimmo – some would argue the fight should have been stopped. He bounced back from adversity in that fight, showing quite a lot of heart. The only thing working against him is his age; while 31 isn’t the end of the line, the clock is generally ticking for anyone over 30.

Seems I’ve spoken too soon – Gustafsson got cut in training and is out apparently 🙁

I haven’t seen a team try and lose that badly since Parramatta last week.

Manly Sea Eagles vs Wests Tigers: NRL live scores, blog

Hayne goes missing when the going gets tough, he also has a propensity to throw his toys out of the cot, as per last round’s match. They really need to be picking someone like Mannah as captain.

Is Hayne ready to be captain?

Anderson Silva – while I love Fedor, he was unfortunate enough to fight in an era (and a promotion) where freak show fights were set up far too often. He is definitely up there but didn’t face top echelon opposition enough for my liking.

Who is the greatest MMA fighter of all time?

Manly’s problems will be because they have a few injuries floating around, including Matai’s neck and Choc’s ribs. It should be a fantastic forwards battle but will the Tigers click on their execution?

Tigers to find out just how Manly they are

We certainly lacked pace – Kruse had one of the worst halves of football I’ve seen in a while but redeemed himself somewhat in the second. We were struggling aerially with the lack of decent crosses, it’s depressing that we had to go 2-0 down before they went up a notch. Japan will maul us if we play like we did tonight.

Socceroos draw 2-2 with Oman, save 2014 World Cup campaign

Could the problem be the ‘team orders’ concept? If the drivers were allowed to end the race on their own terms, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

Time for change at Red Bull

And that’s a problem with sports fans – who doesn’t like seeing the best? UFC 142 was ignored by a number of ‘fans’, a card that produced 5/5 finishes on the main card, and a few on the prelims as well. Same as UFC 138. For ‘numberless’ events, just look at UFC on Versus: Kongo vs. Barry, UFC Live: Hardy vs Lytle.

Fans need to lose this idea that non-numbered events are automatically terrible.

UFC Sydney to be followed by UFC Brisbane in 2012

I’m real excited for Alves and Kampmann though – should be a cracker of a fight. I just think people should be grateful that the UFC comes down under at all, if you want big fights, move to Nevada!

I have to question the idea of the UFC not bringing any star power – by star power, I assume Champions? Why would the UFC take title fights overseas, especially to Australia? Makes sense to have them in either the hometown of the champ or Sin City.

And it’s almost like BJ Penn, Cain, Wandy are nobodies, apparently!

I think it’s actually going to be a challenge to get Overeem down – his knees are the best in the business and I would be wary of eating one as he dives in. For Lesnar to be smart, he’ll have to set up the shot with jabs and straights because if he just shoots without doing that, Overeem drops him like a sack of…well you know where I’m headed 😛
