The discussion seems to conclude that the overwhelming consensus of fans support the change.
However, I think we all know or have spoken to a supporter who refuses to support change, as you said.
Although, there should be limited repercussions to a change like this.

Night time grand final has its supporters, but change isn't on the way yet

‘Admirable’ puts is perfectly, Kawhi Leonard is simply a hard worker. The proof of this is in the numbers, not only did he increase his three-point attempts by almost 100 in comparison to last season, but he also improved his long range shooting by almost 10 per cent (44.3%).
There is a level of accountability that has been placed on his shoulders as the generation of Tim, Tony and Manu fade away and he has handled it how only Kawhi can, working and staying humble.

The NBA’s most admirable superstar

It’s an interesting debate. I think much of his impact to the team both offensively and defensively is being exemplified in the first two games of the playoffs vs the Atlanta Hawks.
We all know the level of play he is capable of, however it is possible he is not 100% healthy, still playing through some lingering ankle pain that he injured Mid-March.
Through two games of Boston’s playoff ‘collapse’ he has made just 6 field goals from 25 attempts (24 per cent), I believe his lack of quality play is making resounding difference to this teams overall performance.
Hopefully he can pick up his play.
