Talk out west is Andrew Forrest is in discussions with the WA Government to consider a circa $120 million claim against the ARU for the cost of refurbishing nib Stadium.

However must be stated, this is pure rumour at this stage

Damn you ARU! The wrong team is dead and you know it

Might I recommend a white t-shirt with SCREW THE ARU written on it for your attire?

Hear Hear!

The Rebels will become the ARU’s money black hole for decades to come, ironically destroying their own ‘financial’ reasons for this decision.

Hope the NRL pick up the force/merge them with the pirates!

Sadly as a WA sports fan, knew this was coming the second it came down to us vs Melbourne. Pathetic move and shows how terribly the ARU has been managed for far to many years.

It's official: Western Force cut by ARU, Bill Pulver steps down

I umm’ed and ahh’ed really hard on putting Duncan and Kobe on the list. Could easily see Tim on the list but Haqueem would have to be the one to go.

Funnily enough, Robert Horry gave his take on the Hakeem Olajuwon and Tim Duncan debate and said: “They had nobody that could guard Dream [Olajuwon’s nickname]. They had nobody that could guard Dream. I’m gonna say that twice because Dream was just that dominant. When we played San Antonio one time, Tim was killing me on the block, and [then-Lakers coach] Phil [Jackson] refused to double-team Tim to get the ball out of his hands. And Dream is 20 times better than Tim Duncan.”

KD's Warriors could beat MJ's Bulls? Don't make me laugh

That’s a real tough one. Probably would say (in no particular order)

Jordan
Magic
Kareem
Wilt
LeBron
Russell
Bird
Shaq
Haqueem
Robertson

I think Curry and Durant could be on this list by the time their careers are done though.

The HS response was more grovelling.

HERALD Sun chief football writer Mark Robinson has issued an apology to Alex Fasolo and the Collingwood Football Club over a highly inappropriate tweet today.

“I am deeply sorry to Alex and the Collingwood Football Club,” Robinson said.

“I acknowledge an error of judgement and I was wrong.

“I accept the tweet made light of mental health issues and I should not have published it.”

Herald Sun editor Damon Johnston has contacted Collingwood president Eddie McGuire to issue a formal apology to both Fasolo and the club.

“The tweet was out of line, wrong and does not represent the Herald Sun’s view on how issues of mental health should be handled in the media,” Johnston said.

Mark Robinson's insensitive depression tweet shows tide is turning

Cheers for the kind words AdelaideDocker.

It was definitely in poor taste, but the response from the general public to show this is unacceptable was good to see.

Well said Milo. That’s exactly the point, they aren’t losing through lack of quality, they lose through exceptional play from the other side or moments of sheer serendipity.

Richmondy: The unfortunate term for spectacular and continued failure

It’s a great ride, but must take it out of the old ticker.

Richmondy: The unfortunate term for spectacular and continued failure

This is the first season since I started following football that I have not watched at least one EPL game live per week. Tried using a friends Optus account but freezing, drop outs and poor video quality made it unwatchable.

The EPL is now invisible thanks to Optus

Okay this comment confuses me.

At what point did I defend Eddie’s comments? Pretty sure in the very first sentence that the ‘joke’ was in bad taste.

While we’re on the subject, I also wrote, “Domestic abuse is a blight on our society and something we must all work together to fix. Some are using these comments as a stepping stone to push an uncomfortable truth into the public spotlight, and I commend them for that.”

My problem is that these comments sat idle in many media outlets for SIX DAYS and only grabbed national attention following a brilliant piece by the Huffington Post, which I wholeheartedly suggest you seek out.

I published McGuire’s comments on Tuesday for another site after Sporting News wrote an article outlining the comments. I was shocked that so few media organisations ran the comments.

I am appalled it took my profession six days to publish stories on this, it should have been brought up the very next day!

But back to your point, choosing to do nothing is still a choice to do something and editors all over Australia knew of these comments and chose to do nothing FOR SIX DAYS, now they act as if they themselves are a pillar of moral virtue.

For the record, I believe both Eddie and Tony went too far with their comments so if you wish to argue that I am part of the reason we have such a problem with violence against women, you damn sure better get your facts straight.

Mainstream media, get your story straight about Eddie's comments

Cheers Cathar, still hoping the Western Reds make a reappearance at some point in the future but I’ll be sure to look at the Bunnies

The AFL could learn a lot from State of Origin

RIP Mate, beautiful sentiment by his mum there.

Thoughts and prayers are with your family.

RIP Jadon Craig

I agree Womblat, as much as this looks like a short term loss, hopefully he takes the time to get himself mentally right. So many people in that circumstance rush back to their jobs hoping for normality and suffer the consequences long term.

He’ll never be ‘fixed’ but he can learn to deal with his issues.

Injury ends Foran's season from hell
