Nice analysis Rick but I believe CHelsea has the best squad depth this year, they have a world class back up keeper cech back up left back felipe luis and a soild back up center forward in drogba and remy, they could play their 2nd team in the fa cup and that could take them to wembley alone. I think there is a shift beginning in the EPL now that clubs like Southampton know they can use their quality youth to make it up the table , i think the days of the old top 4 of utd, arsenal,chelsea,city/liverpool are over now and that can only be a good thing.

Yeah Ben, I agree to, he was great for Shaktar alongside Fernandinho and we saw what he did to Chelsea at the Bridge, its funny how we end up signing anyone who does well against us, maybe that means we’ll have Diego Costa soon then!

Thanks Steve , I agree with your analysis, I reckon Jose sold off Mata and KDB because they were pure CAM’s and that he had already chosen Oscar as his main Center Attacking Mid, We know Hazard and Schurrle can run off the wings so that versatility saved him imo, and the good thing about Wiillain is that he can track back, play as a winger or CAM and score the occasional cracker. Add to that the fact that he smacked us a few year back when playing for Shaktar meant that he was a big ame player. So I’m glad we signed him after all.

Honestly I were to revise these rankings as of Today , I would have Michu up as Number 1 ahead of RVP. I think it’s great l that an unheralded player can almost unanimously take the top pick by storm all this while playing in a club not in the big 6, it really shows the unpredictablilty of football, no matter how much people like Blatter and Platini try. I hope there is more to come from Michu and all the other players, i might have to redo this list at the end of the season. It would be pretty cool to see what it looks like then 😀

it was hard leaving mata off the list, believe me he’s my favorite player, but everyone knew that mata was quality before he joined , romeu was just a kid from barca b , coming in as a makeshift, and he’s impressed the most thats why hes on my list
