Nadal was definitely the favorite to win this clash. Agree or not but Roger uses variety rather than brute force. And in this age of competing with younger players who are much more athletic than him and winning it is indeed an accomplishment. Nadal does get his due share when he wins.

The aura of Roger Federer

His game may not be perfectly suited for grass, but then even Nadal’s game was not suited for hardcourts. The game is becoming more physical and courts becoming slower. If he keeps his focus and fitness and most importantly, conviction that we saw in the finals, I do not see a reason why he cannot 🙂

Stan The Man makes tennis' 'Big Four' a 'Big Five'

Murray has got the game to beat everyone. The only problem is that he does not play aggressive tennis against big guys when he is required to. If his serve and attack go well( he always defends well), then he would be in that league of Grand Slam winners soon.

Monte Carlo the turning point for Murray?

Well said mate. Australia must feel blessed to have got such an outstanding captain and a player in Ricky Ponting. Accept it or not, Ricky Ponting was one of the best things that could have happened to Cricket Australia. People have been so quick to draw negatives with the champion, do they really realise his contribution to the team?

Ricky Ponting's glorious playing career deserves plaudits

People are so quick to draw negatives with Ponting. Do they ever realise what good has he done for the team? People say it’s easier to lead a team where everyone is a match winner. Leading a side filled with champions is by no means, an easy job. You have got to be that sort of a champion to lead the best side! Does not matter what people think, Ponting is a legend and will always remain so.

Sad farewell to World Cup cricket for Punter

Even if he is sacked, no one can take anything from his imperial career. It would only be the Australian cricket which has to grapple with the loss!

Sad farewell to World Cup cricket for Punter

Right, it’s the view of a cricket fan, not a Ponting fan. When you see your champion on the field, you would expect him to win everytime though you will be aware that his time is gone, his days are numbered. That is something which comes from within.

Sad farewell to World Cup cricket for Punter

I just wonder what you would say when you see captains of other nations playing now. Be proud that Ricky is an Aussie. Though I do not belong to Australia, yet I admire him like anything. His dedication towards cricket, his dedication for his nation stands above all.

” Nadal was injured”- It is itself a joke!

Waiting for your words to come true!

I second you on this!

From the diary of a Roger Federer fan

Nadal is all fake! As long as he is winning, he is alright. The day he starts losing, it was because some “injury” crept in all of a sudden. That’s just crap! And there is no point in arguing when one shows “arrogance” provided the one is as successful as Federer!

From the diary of a Roger Federer fan

And let me put the fact- the no.of Grand Slams won by Federer. And compare those stats to the number of Slams Pete and Borg collected. What do you call a “quality win” by the way? Every win is difficult. It’s easier to analyse someone’s losses from a distance. Feel the pressure the players undergo while playing, when they carry the hopes of their family, their nation, their coaches, their team and their fans!

You need to have some logic in your comments. Federer was winning , so the field looked weak. Put it that way! If you cannot appreciate someone’s achievements, you just have got no right to make such remarks against the person.

From the diary of a Roger Federer fan

Well said. Nothing , absolutely nothing can be a substitute for Roger’s tennis. I am proud to be his fan. It’s better to speak out your mind rather than show fake applause for someone. Humility to some extent is acceptable but just praising others for the sake of pleasing others’ ears is just not done. Everyone knows who does that.
Thanks for your comment 🙂

If people think, he’s being too arrogant, let them think so. And the most important thing to be noted is that he also lets his racket do the talking besides his mouth!

From the diary of a Roger Federer fan

That’s what I call a crazy Fedophile. It’s only Federer who has made us learn the art of dreaming the apparently “impossible.”

From the diary of a Roger Federer fan

Thanks nitin_b. Yeah, that’s what I wanted to say. It’s not about winning or losing. He is the most complete player I have ever seen- no shot you can ever dream of that is not in Federer’s armor. His game is a pleasure to watch. The ultimate epitome of panache, grace and elegance.

From the diary of a Roger Federer fan

Roger arrogance is not “empty” or without any reason. Just as I said, he has created a monster of himself by winning day in and day out, he has got every right to think himself above others. And even he knows, he cannot rest on the top through out his career. There’s a fall after every rise and during his ascent, he has achieved what earlier seemed to be “impossible”

From the diary of a Roger Federer fan

I wish I could meet him someday. Lucky you! He has been in good form. Just the problem is the shift in the momentum when you think he can easily win the matches. He has faced such situations before and he is a champion stuff. He knows what it takes to bounce back. Hoping to see Roger back in top gear 🙂
Thanks

Thanks Ayesha. I could not have been more vivid. And my emotions were not ready to remain inside my heart, so jotted those down. Thanks again 🙂

From the diary of a Roger Federer fan

Roger is one of those players who is FLAWLESS. I don’t agree with what you deem as “arrogance”. Roger has set the standard for the sport; he has achieved which other players can dream of. And he has got the right to say anything he thinks of others or for that matter, of the match. Just for example, before his match with Murray in 2010 Aus Open final, he had said about the dependence of the consequences of his matches with Murray on him. It’s he who controls the match. And he backed it off by winning the 16th Slam. And the fact that his racquet backs his words is something to be noted. He does not speak which he cannot accomplish or beyond his capabilities.

From the diary of a Roger Federer fan

I can well infer your meaning. Tennis is dead without Federer. He wins or loses, just to have him around in any tournament is a charm in itself. Does not matter how many wins Djokovic records over Federer, some are just born to rule this world. Some are born to be champions. And Roger Federer is one among them.

From the diary of a Roger Federer fan

Well said. Just watching Federer play his beautiful tennis is a treat to one’s eyes. His game indeed brings solace to the heart. An epitome of grace and elegance. Yeah, Novak is in the form of his life. Let him enjoy his best days too! But tennis looks incomplete without the Master!

From the diary of a Roger Federer fan

Thanks Spooky. It is something that has come straight out of my heart. I could not resist my emotions. Thanks again.
