Walters arrogance is incredible. “I’m not going to interview for the job.” i.e. He’ll accept if offered but accept an interview. Maybe he is deluded thinking other NRL clubs are tripping over themselves to sign him.
Why would Justin Holbrook leave the best club in Super League for the worst in the NRL?
Utter nonsense insofar as the Knights. Bennett left them in a monumental salary cap mess.
Why would Justin Holbrook leave the best club in Super League for the worst in the NRL?
1. A chance to live in a very comfortable location on good money.
2. Money.
3. A chance to build a potential super-club given the size of the junior base, potential supporter base and sponsorship stemming from that.
Why would Justin Holbrook leave the best club in Super League for the worst in the NRL?
Field did ok or even well when he was given a chance but his last game, filling in for Norman a few weeks was absolutely atrocious. In attack and defence.
NRL Round 19 teams: Widdop among several reinforcements for Dragons
The simple answer is “no”. Not the right man for SGI or any other NRL club.
Is McGregor the right man to coach the Dragons?
Poor Paul McGregor. The pressure has gotten to him and he has completely lost his mind. It’s good Saab is getting a chance in front of Peason who simply isn’t NRL standard but Ravalawa has been the only 1 of the back 5 to be half decent. Lomax on the other hand is the best centre at the club but a poor winger, as he has proven several times. Finally Widdop at 5/8, returning to what has worked so well in the 5 years before this year…… Poor Paul. I used to hate him but now I just feel sorry for him.
NRL Round 19 teams: Widdop among several reinforcements for Dragons
Not worth it because it depends on who he was playing. If one of the 3 of them is the GOAT, the best measurement would be the record they have against each other. Federer a losing record against both, Nadal winning against Federer but losing to Djokovic and Djokovic winning against both (though not as one-sided as Nadal’s record over Federer).
How could anyone claim Federer is the GOAT when he is the third best in his era?
Can Djokovic overtake Federer's 310 weeks at Number 1?
What utter nonsense. GC is a large city in it’s own right. Larger than Canberra and Newcastle for example. I think a second Brisbane team would be really good for GC in the long-term. So many residents support the Broncos. A second Brisbane team to help break the Broncos stranglehold in SE QLD would be good for GC in the long term even if creating short-term problems with sponsorship and juniors being poached.
The Titans aren't going anywhere, and that’s a good thing
A good coach will turn things around. Off the field, they are actually pretty strong. Signing Taylor and Cartwright period and a number of others on the amount of money they are on rightly meant Brennan had to go.
Shonkies went 50 years without a premiership and when they got one, it was with the help of salary cap cheating, are perennially in financial trouble and etc. They will be history long before GC.
The Titans aren't going anywhere, and that’s a good thing
Tom Trbojevic was poor. Simple as that. Dropped the ball cold in the first half, ran across field too much, made minimal metres and missed a few tackles. NSW worst.
NSW Blues player ratings: Origin 3
It’s good he is fighting the ARU. He shouldn’t be sacked for stating his opinion. But using his fellow religious red-necks and their pie-in-the-sky nonsense to fund the fight given he is already super-rich is outrageous!
Why I donated to Israel Folau - and why I will again
So why have Taylor and Cleary failed to deliver?
Three main reasons: leadership and confidence, talent. IMO.
How long does potential last in the NRL?
Ash Taylor is incredibly overrated. He is barely NRL standard.
No banana for Gold Coast Titans because they are just not that good
And in a society where supposedly one is innocent unless found guilty and no one or no organization is above the law.
Can I be a feminist and a rugby league fan?
But most importantly, deserved to win and did win regardless of disgraceful refereeing.
Daly Cherry-Evans responds after NRL admits refs got penalty non-call wrong
Perhaps he could also comment on the ridiculously lopsided penalry count. I remember during the second half, when Dragons didn’t get a single penalty to Manly’s 6, Lafai was penalised for a strip when the Manly player clearly dropped the ball and shortly after the Dragons were judged to have dropped the ball when it was clearly stripped.
Daly Cherry-Evans responds after NRL admits refs got penalty non-call wrong
Nonsense. They are better without him because he may be the most overrated player in the history of the NRL and succeeded in screwing up even Hunts game in addition to the 5 or 6 other halfbacks who partnered him at SGI.
Eight talking points from NRL Round 5
Widdop’s injury may have saved McGregors coaching career. Dragons are so much better without Widdop.
Eight talking points from NRL Round 5
Hard to see them being troubled much by Origin this year. Oats will probably get selected and maybe Roberts on account of injuries and loyalty but doubt any others will make it.
Something has to change at the Brisbane Broncos
The most important player for the Dragons is Ben Hunt and second most, JDB. If they get JDB back in a few weeks and Hunt stays healthy, they will be a very serious force.
No Widdop, no worries - Norman will win the comp for the Dragons
Well the last 5 years with Widdop as the “marquee” player and/or captain couldn’t have been much worse so at least I’m optimistic.
No Widdop, no worries - Norman will win the comp for the Dragons
No, they didn’t. He was signed before being suspended.
Frustrated McGregor waiting for cap relief
Great idea since having Widdop at 5/8, the one constant over the last 5 years, worked so well……
Frustrated McGregor waiting for cap relief
If the sponsors don’t like the rule of law, as the NRL obviously doesn’t, the club is better off without them.
If JDB is judged innocent, and it seems he thinks he will be (maybe he knows something we don’t), I hope he takes the NRL to the cleaners to the point where he owns the NRL.
When sport attacks civil liberties: The NRL’s no-fault stand down
Broncos to play one of their better games vs Melbourne. Melbourne by “only” 26.
History is against the Broncos as they face a Storm surge on Friday night
