Vic’s were held up in quarantine for 2 weeks meaning they could only play 2 games.

Agar should play ahead of Swepson in Australia's nine Tests in Asia next year
Maxwell has a century in India.
Agar should play ahead of Swepson in Australia's nine Tests in Asia next year
Zampa’s fc record is abysmal Maxwell and Marnus are better bowling options.
Agar should play ahead of Swepson in Australia's nine Tests in Asia next year
I read somewhere that we won’t actually be playing India next year.
We’ll be playing a T20 World Cup in Australia in October/November to make up for the one that was cancelled last year.
The test series against India that was originally going to be played in the October/November 2022 window has been pushed back to February/March 2023.
Agar should play ahead of Swepson in Australia's nine Tests in Asia next year
After seeing Stoinis bat on Sunday, I think its time we put a line through his name, he completely killed the innings.
I feel Marsh was badly used, he did a decent job batting at 4 in the first game, then spent most of the series batting at 7 behind Agar, I’d definitely have him in the squad, but I’d play Moises and Christian ahead of him.
I’d actually be tempted to play them both in the same XI, with the lineup being:
Finch
Warner
Smith
Maxwell
Henriques
Phillippe
Christian
Agar
Starc
Cummins
Zampa
I know the recent strategy has been to bat Agar at 7 and play 5 frontline bowling, but after seeing Agar bat this series I think that 7 is a spot too high for him.
With the World Cup being played in India we’d be fooling to use Maxwell’s bowling more. Moises and Christian can also bowl as well, I though that Moises bowled really well against India last year.
When Philippe started playing for the Sydney 6ers in 2018/19, he spent the first half of the season batting at 6 and I seem to recall him doing well, they moved him up the top of the order midway through the season. So he’s got experience batting in the middle order.
I just read this morning that he’s pulled out of the IPL.
Stoinis had his chance for Australia, now it's time for Christian and Henriques in T20s
Pretty sure those India test matches have been moved to March 2023, to accommodate the 2022 T20 world cup which will be played in Australia.
Which spin bowlers should Australia pick to tour the subcontinent next year?
I’m interested to see how Stoinis does with the bat after his innings on Thursday:
Is Stonis now an international standard batsman, who starts being the player that we want him to be? or
Was the innings a one off and will he continue to be rubbish? or
Does he just do well in New Zealand because of the small boundaries?
Sam’s has bowled pretty well up front but has gotten hit at the end, should we be looking at Stoinis as a death bowler, if he makes the team.
Could they go with a lineup of:
Warner
Finch
Smith
Maxwell
Stoinis/Marsh
Wicket-Keeper (TBA)
Sams
Agar
Starc
Cummins
Zampa
Alternativly you could drop Smith push the wk up to 3 and play both Marsh and Stoinis.
Australia's death bowling being tested by Kiwis
Nah, it was right before the 2017 India test series.
Smith and Warner were both rested, Wade was named captain but got injured in the warmup so that they made Finch captain, Sam Heazlett made his debut.

Stoinis was a late call up to the 2016 NZ ODI tour after an injury to James Faulkner but didn’t play. http://www.espncricinfo.com/new-zealand-v-australia-2015-16/content/story/968653.html
Australia fall agonisingly short in second T20 despite Stoinis heroics
I just did the maths and I’m pretty sure that January 2017 was 4 years ago.
Australia fall agonisingly short in second T20 despite Stoinis heroics
C’mon Ronan surely Wade is a lock to open seeing as he hit 2 50s against India in the last series in December.
I did read on the CA website a couple of weeks ago that the likely top 5 for this series would be:
Finch
Wade
Philippe
Maxwell
Stoinis

I don’t think Stoinis in the middle order works.
Kiwis' next superstars face Australia in T20s tomorrow
He averages 12 in the format and got dropped for Wade midway through the England series
Kiwis' next superstars face Australia in T20s tomorrow
Langer doesn’t have a clue about white ball cricket?
I’m pretty sure they picked him as coach because he’d won 3 big bash titles with the scorchers + 2 one day cup titles with WA.
WAs record in the shield under langer was relatively mediocre.
Two coaches a no-brainer going forward for Australia
Mitch Marsh’s 39* in the 3rd T20 against England last year shows he’s the type of T20 middle order player Australia need, rather than trying to shoehorn Stoinis or Wade into the middle order. He was greatly missed for the last T20 series against India.
As for the keepers spot if they go with Wade he needs to bat up the order, to do that you push Finch down to 5 and Wade can open with Warner, or you drop Smith from the team and slot Wade in at 3, if they don’t then someone else needs to keep.
I’ve been really impressed with Pierson over the last couple of games, he could be an option.
Australia's middle order stands between them and T20 World Cup glory
McDermott is in the T20 squad
Pattinson and Head in Australia's best XI for South Africa Tests
From the Twenty20 squad? Why not he’s an overrated T20 player
Pattinson and Head in Australia's best XI for South Africa Tests
With Warner unavailable for this series, Wade should definitely open, will be interesting to see what happens when all the first choice players choice come back.
Maybe drop Smith and bat Wade at 3?
Pattinson and Head in Australia's best XI for South Africa Tests
He’s no longer a regular in the T20 side he was replaced by Wade as keeper.
Pattinson and Head in Australia's best XI for South Africa Tests
Yes, Head averages nearly 40 at test level, but since the start of the ashes he’s averages low 30s.
As Ronan pointed out in the article Carey has averaged nearly 60 over his past 10 fc matches, bat him at 5 and see how he does, maybe he’ll end up being Australia’s long term number 5 and someone else will end up keeping when Paine retires.
Pattinson and Head in Australia's best XI for South Africa Tests
Why?
NSWs 1st choice spinner Lyon will be with the test squad in South Africa
NSW 2nd choice spinner Zampa will be with the T20 squad in New Zealand.
NSW will be down to their 3rd choice spinner if not Sangha, who else will they pick?
Tanveer Sangha and Wes Agar are in my Aussie T20I squad for NZ tour
Maxwell was the last Australian player to score a test century against India, he should have played 2 years ago, the selectors have an opportunity to fix their mistake and should bring him in for the next match. He’s been in the Big Bash bubble since the India white ball games finished, so I can’t see why they wouldn’t be able to bring him into the squad.
Maxwell and Warner in for Burns and Head.
Australia’s batting depth exposed at the MCG
Why would the go back to the old state based tournament?
The old state based tournament was nothing more than a fringe competition that had numbers on par with the A-League.
Even when they started to BBL in 2011 it only had moderate success, it became a mainstream competition in 2013 when it moved to channel 10.
The tournament worked well when played within the school holiday period of December/January.
Many believe that the BBL peaked in 2015/16, that season had 35 games the final was played on the 24th of January
The 2018/19 season had 59 games the final was played on the 17th if February, pretty sure that’s you’re main problem.
Dear CA, what were you thinking?
The BBL needs to be played during the December/January school holiday period in order to get more families to watch, playing it in November wouldn’t make any sense.
Dear CA, what were you thinking?
The form of Moises might convince the selectors to switch to playing 2 frontline quicks (Starc and Cummins ,2 frontline spinner (Zampa and Agar) with the remaining 4 overs out of the allrounders.
With a lineup of:
Warner
Finch (c)
Smith
Maxwell
Henriques
M.Marsh
TBA (wk)
Agar
Starc
Cummins
Zampa
Moises Henriques surges into T20 World Cup contention
Any notion that Paine should be under threat of being dropped is ridiculous.
When Wade was dropped in 2017 he’d averaged just 20 since his recall a year earlier and his keeping wasn’t up to test standard.
When the selectors picked Paine for the 2017 Ashes their reason was that he was the best wicket-keeper in Australia, that was true at the time, and is still true now, sure his batting isn’t at the level of Gilchrist, but is anyone expecting that?
Can India take down the Aussies with Steve Smith and David Warner involved?
