After winning 7 championships in a row maybe not a bad thing for Saders to sit out the next few so that other top teams in NZ can compete – good for the ABs too. During the Hansen period of domination between 2011 and 2015 Saders were not all conquering … also just shows how special Razor is … also good that Aussie teams are really stepping up. Good for WBs and Trans-Tasman rugby as its just a matter of time till the North figure out how to win the RWC consistently. This last comp was just bad luck – French team maybe a bit too young. Ireland on the wrong side of the draw. Just a matter of time and NZ/Oz rugby needs to be ready when the time comes …

The Wrap: Why SANZAAR must hold Frank Lomani accountable for 'going back for his hat'

Saders as champs not going to happen with the current bunch.

The Wrap: The two massive power shifts shaping Australian and New Zealand rugby

Congrats Reds. The Chiefs have always struggled against the Reds. Last time or the one before the Chiefs had to score at the death. This result more than the Tahs vs Saders (that’s a team with a lot of rooks) proves the Oz teams are on the up. This is good for both countries – they only have each other to improve against the risen North. Better Oz teams means betters ABs in the end! But Cam Roigard oh man … what a player … his game against the Blues!

'Over the moon': Reds deny Chiefs for 23 PHASES to win 'titanic' trans-Tasman clash as Kiss' revolution continues

Unfortunately,in the socia media once you are out there you have to try to be likable and Owen is anything but that. All the other examples Scooter and Tuilagis do not try and be complete tools … it also doesn’t really help that Owen is English. I do think some social media stuff is extreme but Owen hasn’t really helped with his demeanour and behaviour has he?

'Warning was there': Owen Farrell makes surprising decision after 'appalling' 'absurd' treatment

This is such an insane comment. Without Skelton La Roche and Saracens might be without a few Heinecken cups – the man wins forward battles just by himself …

How McLennan departure could help Wallabies land ex-Ireland, All Blacks coach as Eddie's replacement

Lol. ABs lost the WC. The fact that they even go to the final under porkshop is such a major achievement. WBs didn’t make the playoffs and you are second-guessing Irish Joe as a potential WB coach – I agree that without him and Ryan ABs are defo out in the QF. Are you serious re Irish Joe not being the best option the WBs would ever dream of? That said, RA have a long history of mistreating Kiwi coaches so I highly doubt that the famously skittish Joe would even go near this gig. RA and Oz rugby is a mess. He wouldn’t even commit to any coaching role at home for the longest time.

Esp Rebs pipping the Canes – not going to happen.

ANALYSIS: Every Super Rugby team rated - and why Australia will make up ground on New Zealand

Yup, passit – that’s the best way to get some excited and click but also not look like an idiot later on in the comp.

ANALYSIS: Every Super Rugby team rated - and why Australia will make up ground on New Zealand

The whole EJ debacle is just horrendous (just a timeline of what has been said and how its all been false and how it was clearly coming to this place) but its also a symptom of RA’s culture and who heads it in Hamish. If you look at his M.O dude was looking for a quick-sure solution and he thought that was EJ. That’s not going to happen. You need real decent gutsy people in there who understand that turning all this aroudnd will take at least a decade i.e just look at Ireland. If Ireland can achieve what it has surely Oz can. Someone said it here – he wanted to be involved in the RWC for relevance. Now that there is serious work to be done … he won’t stay. Its incredible.

Eddie Jones quits as Wallabies coach - 'Sometimes you have to eat s--t for others to eat caviar'

If you think about it all the symptoms of the last 4-year cycle came to bite ABs in this game. Indiscipline, poor spot kicking and weird selections. Boks were not great (and congrats they are made of steel – won the last three games with just one pt) but in all fairness Fozzie winning a world cup would have been the real smash and grab of the RWC. France playing the most attractive game are the most unlucky here.

WORLD VIEW: 'Disgrace'- strange slap for Boks coaches after 'beautifully ugly' 'shambles' of a World Cup final

The big difference in 2007 is that ABs had recognised cattle Oz rugby just doesn’t have those …

Wallabies are where the All Blacks were in 2007 - it's time to look in the mirror or risk more embarrassment

They have to go with Samsoni – and even with him and Nepo the thing is that even the ABs are not at least two scores ahead by 50 mins the Boks will get this … the ABs just really have to take the game to the Boks …

COMPLETE RWC finals teams: All Blacks' answer to Boks' bold 7-1 bench call, Smith returns for England

I guess Nepo is the horse for this course. Is he a good scrummager? Penalty magnet in the loose. A walking knock on. If ABs are not leading by 2 scores by the 50th it’s over anyway and doesn’t matter what he does!

COMPLETE RWC finals teams: All Blacks' answer to Boks' bold 7-1 bench call, Smith returns for England

The thing about this game though unlike what Boks are being accused of against England or Ireland are being accused of against Abs, both teams will be 100 per cent up for it. These teams know each other too well – they’ll be no assumptions or miscalculations …

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

the draw would not have changed much tx scott

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

Brendan you mean like keeping on Sexton for all these years and not giving the next 10s enough experience

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

Yup, ABs have to be up by 2 scores after 50 mins to have a chance …

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

If Galthie and the rest of the coaching team stays France lose very little in 4 years and gain a new fresh set of players … Farrell is staying I hear and they are losing Sexton and Earls (not that he did much). Aki their best player in RWC will be 35. Ireland did not have as much depth as the other top 3 so who is to say they remain injury free. Boks are losing a lot _ I’ll be stunned if they are back at the level they’ve been for two WC cycles. Same with ABs especially in forwards but they’ll have Razor! That’s 5 pts! With Fozzie we’ve been starting -10 pts lol. I see another balanced field in ’27 in Oz.

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

The Tuilagi and Farell penalty were the same thing. Tuilagi grabbed Reinach around the neck in celebration (I mean in a semi!) and then Farrell grabbed the ball and woudn’t let go lol ….

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

That last shallow box kick by Steward was defining. Up till then he was giving them enough height but also length to be able to compete but keep Boks in their half …

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

By 12? RT that’s bold. I love it!

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

Yup, cookie. If they do it , it’ll have to be by the time Boks are bringing in their nuclear squad – have to be two scores ahead …

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

When is the last time Ireland beat NZ with 15 men? And how many times?

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

WR would take much longer to look at it though … like the Sexton stuff … so he’ll play this week irrespective …

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

I guess this week we can argue whose loss meant less … and belittle them if they win … I think ABs opening game against the host understandable. With the perceived threat of Scotland the game between Boks and Irelands was crucial and losing such a key game and then winning the RWC are they truly worthy?
