Its interesting to realise that other than ’95 the Boks have taken the hard route for once to the Finals. Somehow they seemed tired during this game. They will rise against the ABs next week but did they expend too much energy against France … ABs bench will be crucial. Coaches really need to balance the squad out for an 80 minute performance especially the forwards. We can’t be caught out like France and England. Crucial that ABs get at least 2 scores in front of Boks so that they are not playing for penalties in the last 20. Samsoni, Whitelock, Blackadder, ALB, Roigard, Fletcher, Taimati and DMac (? – just as in case there’s a BBB or Mounga injury).

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

I think the Boks vs France game took so much out of them that they couldn’t really rise for this one. Against the ABs they always bring it. What I’m curious about is how the ABs play? Quick or like the English spoiling … I think the ABs have to start with 2 scores ahead to have any chance … and their set piece has to be flawless. They might also like the French want to avoid set piece …

'What you live for': Boks beat England in World Cup EPIC to set up mouth-watering final against All Blacks

I can’t wait to see what Razor can do.

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Yup but they have Razor and that really makes up for the loss of the 10 players. Locks is going to be an issue.

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Andy Farrell has been class all along – really come to like him.

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

That lead up of 17 did not do them any favours – you need highs and lows. Too much of a high for much longer than necessary is not great …

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Tx Frank. Ireland is a great team and has been the best out there over the last two years. ABs have pedigree but have also lost knock-outs when they were faves. It happens. Behooves AB fans to be a bit humble. Everything beyond the QFs with Fozzie is a bonus. If they get knocked out tomorrow I’ll still be happy … did not expect them to have the inside running for Finals … that’s them breaks.

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Luke Pearce?

MZ what about 12? Who stands in for Aki?

Zombie lol

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Oh yes France will be a force for years to come with most of their players back plus an injection of the world dominating under 20s. Ireland with Farrell too. But weaker without Sexton and Aki. The have a penchant for injuries and this was an outlier RWC – we’ll see how their forwards fare after 4 more years of being knocked about … ABs are in trouble as they have forwards off the rank. Boks are losing a golden generation …

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Farrell also goes at the ref. Owen is in trouble this Saturday – can’t wait to see Allende running at him all day …

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Where was PoM abused by his own countrymen? That Id like to see …

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Such a clear combination of analysis, history and potential outcomes – Spiro, you’ve been missed … a quibble though. I would have imagined the ABs would have preferred Boks to Ireland since they know them very well. I guess they also wanted revenge. I do not believe they believed Ireland would beat Boks.

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Yup of course Cane is a RWC winner. I’d forgotten that!

Not so s--t now, Peter: All Blacks skipper's sweet revenge after Irish great's brutal sledge backfires

There are two ways of seeing this. Sexton and PoM have an edge that their fans see as competitiveness and opponents don’t like. Problem is that when things wrong you can never live it down. Its worth noting how the real champs never do these kind of things from the Carters, Wilkinsons, Duponts etc … its the players who instinctively know they are not at that level that resort to that nonsense. If ABs win the whole thing (big if) PoM will have to live with those words for the rest of his life …

So, glad Nepo and Ofa finally get the boot. Those two are a liability, penalty magnets …

Blackadder should have started. Luke who I like has had his chances … i.e Twickenham etc …

all northern media is having a field day with this weak ABs but what they dont know is that when this team gets things going … they can beat anyone handily …

WORLD VIEW: 'Awake and angry' ABs produce 'total carnage' in 'statement and spectacle' win - but Ireland great reveals flaw

wrong loosie combo. centres awry. wrong wing fb combo. then the loyalty to players …

you make excellent comments again and again

WORLD VIEW: 'Awake and angry' ABs produce 'total carnage' in 'statement and spectacle' win - but Ireland great reveals flaw

Aki was playing for the Chiefs when SBW was starting 12. And Crotty sub. No point talking about JGP. Irish rugby asks different things of individual players (be world class at 1-2 thing). Aki just trucks it up and hits people hard. JGP clears the ruck quickly. Lowe uses his left boot. ABs have so much talent at their disposal that they choose from that and make a team. Its by and by worked till now. And then you get the worst Tier 1 coach and talent means zilch. Razor builds systems and evn when there are no big names they deliver. Its next cab off the rank. That’s Ireland at Test level – they all play the system.

The Wrap: With Wallabies done and dusted in 15 miserable days, who do we trust to take Australian rugby forward?

glad to see you agree Jacko after you’ve said for years Razor is unproven at this level …

Piutau was the only real loss …

I think ABs will soon do away with the domestic rule …
