If he was still at Souths, he would have been given a written character reference by the CEO of the NRL.

So, the same result as his previous brain scans.

This example has an added dimension in that Wallace is a current player. It’s surprising clubs paying large sums of money allow them to take on such risky activities, particularly in cases such as this where the player is clearly not equipped to be an effective boxer.

Shane Flanagan confirmed as Dragons assistant coach

“A year in the garage of reserve grade might be the wake up call he needs.”
Whilst signing Mitchell for top dollar to play fullback is not judicious, I don’t know why a player who is the competition’s top point scorer, 2nd top try scorer and in the top ten for linebreaks needs a year in reserve grade.

Watch out Tigers and Cowboys - the Ferrari might stall again

Adrian, if you think having played in the NRL is a prerequisite for knowing anything about the game then what is your view of Adam O’Brien?

All Newcastle needs is a winning attitude

Hunt (1986), Burgess (1988) and Folau (1989) are all millenials therefore the same generation.

Sam Burgess confirms injury-forced retirement

Is there a suggestion the NRL are going to say Burgess should be medically retired?

Sam Burgess is causing a big headache for the Rabbitohs and the NRL

The reason Allan Langer is singled out is because he’s well known. He’s not on the field more than any other trainer but he is more recognisable. The only thing people seem to agree on is that trainers should not be on the field unless there is a stoppage in play. Well, almost everyone agrees because unfortunately, coaches and the NRL administration seem to think it’s ok.

Big boys don't need trainers on the field with them

I also can’t remember the Rabbitohs having a trainer on the field in the first 10 mins of a game that alone the first TWO mins! Explain that.

The Rabbitoh’s trainer is on the field from the first minute just the like the trainer for every team. I don’t know if you watched the preliminary final but Souths received the kick-off and the first set of the match had the Souths trainer standing in the attacking line, from the first tackle of the game.

Scott, I know David is the player in the article, it’s just that ND’s comment seemed to more aptly describe Andrew rather than David.

ND, are you referring to Andrew Fafita or David Fafita?

Well done DB. An excellent article filled with gems.

A serious, but not so serious look at the last 13 NRL seasons

There was a similar performance from the 9 commentary team in the Roosters/Storm preliminary final. Tedesco clearly knocked the ball on while contesting a kick in the lead up to a possible try. When the bunker ruled no try, Andrew Johns called the decision rubbish and it shouldn’t matter that tedesco knocked the ball on because he barely touched the ball. A touch is a touch in the same way the sideline is the sideline.

Why complain about the NRL's black and white decisions?

Affectation is nothing more than what it is. Michael Towke found out all about the true nature of the man.

Don’t fall for the Sharks supporter shtick. He’s a lifelong Rugby Union supporter from the eastern suburbs.

Surely, credit for that should go to Canberra’s defence. The main reason for the Raiders rise this year has been a vast improvement in defence. This was very apparent when defending their line. The Tapine defensive error in the first try wasn’t consistent with how well the team defended their red zone this year.

Chooks won. They were better. The end.

Peter, that’s OK. There appears to be one thing everyone agrees on and that is trainers shouldn’t be on the field whilst the ball is in play. Let’s hope the NRL finally do something about it.

Ben Cummins is a good man and a great referee – so lay off him!

That isn’t in the rules, it’s in the NRL’s ‘On Field Policy’. It doesn’t allow for the referee to issue any form of penalty in response to a trainer causing disadvantage to an opposing team. Penalties handed down in these situations have come from the governing body and most often involve fines or in some cases, suspensions.

In the GF incident, the referees could only apply rule 8.1 (e): when play is irregularly affected by the ball or the player carrying the ball coming into contact with the Referee, a Touch Judge, or with any person not taking part in the match or with any object which should not normally be on the playing field.

You don’t think the referees boss would have used this as a get out if possible????
What did the referee’s boss need to get out of? The referees adjudicated the ball hitting the trainer as per the rule book.

Chooks won. They were better. The end.

In recent years, sides have become better at defending whilst a player down. It used to be that when a team were a player down, the automatic feeling was the opposition would score in that ten minutes. That feeling of inevitability has dissipated as teams have become more accustomed to making defensive adjustments when down to 12 players. It’s not an easy thing to get on the outside of some defences.

2019 NRL grand final: smoke, fire and controversy

The fact that you’re not a Raider’s supporter fits Souvalis’s narrative perfectly.

Chooks won. They were better. The end.

We have no idea whether a try would have been scored. I account for the Roosters being given the scrum-feed because that’s the rules. Now that you’ve seen the footage, are you of the view that Soliola made illegal contact with Keary’s legs?

Ben Cummins is a good man and a great referee – so lay off him!

I told you a few times to watch a replay including mentioning the replay was playing constantly on this forum, right next to where you were reading at the time. Now, you’re saying you didn’t know that. So, you claimed for days that Soliola hadn’t made contact with Keary’s legs even though you hadn’t even looked at the footage.
I don’t have any problem with the referees. They didn’t penalise the incident because they missed it. Infringements are missed in all games and that is something I accept. I don’t sit around whining for days that a referee’s decision in the third minute of a game definitely caused a team to lose a game because that is patently absurd.

Ben Cummins is a good man and a great referee – so lay off him!

This is has been pointed out previously to no avail. When you realise an individual’s power of observation is this poor then it’s not a surprise when they fail to produce a cogent argument.
