The difference between the Cotchin and Stewart incidents are Cotchin’s hands were on the ball when he slid into Shiel, the ball was 10 metres away when Stewart hit Prestia. The 2 incidents are not comparable

The AFL should send off players for violent actions that take a player out

100% Balta will play in the backline.

Don just being mischievous again with made up ‘facts’.

AFL Friday Footy Fix: 'Effort without system' sums up Dons, and what was up with those 150th anniversary celebrations?

Don’s nightmare scenario, Richmond knock Fremantle out of the finals after Dusty kicks the winning goal (after the final siren), after being awarded a dodgy free kick from Matt Stevic.

AFL Thursday Thought Bubble: Concussion controversy, the next Ginnivan and a 'pretty crappy' match for even the players

Very wet weather forecast for Perth over the weekend. Fremantle may be a little nervous playing with that ‘cake of soap’

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 13

The rules as they are written, cannot be clearly adjudicated and are therefore left up to the interpretation of the umpires. Leaves the game wide open to corruption through the betting industry and some of it’s shady participants. How often do you see a team with serious momentum, stripped of their advantage with one or two 50-50s and a 50 meter penalty against, or how often do you see one team during a match receive the lion’s share of favourable decisions?
I know generally, umpires are trying to do their best job to advance their careers, it’s just the rules just leave them vulnerable to be leaned on by outsiders.

Overly officious umpiring is making AFL all but unwatchable

I can admire Don for the always positive take for his own team. Can’t quite understand the relentless hatred for Richmond, however suspect he just enjoys igniting a confrontation with the tiger supporters on here with his made up ‘facts’ and then diversions when found out. (Straight from the Don Trump play book….).
Otherwise, when not being mischievous, he can provide a great insight into Fremantle’s machinations, especially for those of us living outside of Western Australia. Always giving interesting comments and often good for a laugh.

The Tigers have four weeks to answer one question: Are they any good?

The emotional trauma that Ginnivan experienced with the chicken wing tackle, expecting his shoulder to be dislocated, is far worse. Imagine a psychopath holds a gun to your head, saying he’s going to shoot you, but then backs away, leaving you physically unharmed. I’d take the elbow to the head any day.
And no Don, I’m against violence of any sort whether it be physical, emotional or psychological. Very poor form to be so judgmental to someone you don’t even know.

AFL NEWS: Fyfe return in state league, Docker banned for 'chicken wing', Dangerfield on ice, Ziebell hits 250th

Yeah agree with you. The chicken wing tackle should have resulted in a harsher penalty.

You are absolutely right Don. If Richmond were without the likes of Vlastuin, Riewoldt and Lambert, they would never have beaten GWS 😛

How Richmond's proving a Tiger can change its stripes

Bulldogs need to recruit Dan Andrews…. no one is better at shutting down Melbourne.

The three ways the Demons or the Bulldogs can win the flag

Nah, the Anzac Eve match has become an important part of the fixture now, so too close to round 1. Perhaps Richmond v. Collingwood as it was before Eddie intervened many years ago.

'Carlton has no idea': The Blues' 2021 season review

Weightman wows in the wet to extend Essendon's finals drought

With 3 rounds left, bulldogs on top of the ladder, 3 games clear and more then 17% clear of Brisbane. 3 games later, Brisbane finish higher on the ladder with Dogs at 5. How does that even happen??? Bulldogs fans must be feeling filthy right now.

UN-DEE-LIEVABLE! Demons pinch top spot with insane comeback, controversy as Lions nab fourth

Hey Hub, I was a regular participant on this site until the end of last year and was constantly bombarded with adds, to the extent where I couldn’t read a sentence without an add jumping in.
Now, occasionally I’ll have a read and have noticed the adds being almost non existent.
I suspect that the algorithms used assign more adds, the more you contribute. Just a theory, but wouldn’t surprise me, and something the site needs to address before it drives more people away.

Nathan Buckley and Collingwood: A tale of regression

If you listen to the umpire’s call, it’s ’touched, play on’. Hard to hear with the commentators, saying the call was for not 15. Most people now going with what the commentators have called.

Drama aplenty as Jeremy Cameron denied matchwinning shot after Swans' massive comeback

You therefore must be saying that Dusty is the greatest of all time if he can single handedly win premierships.

What is the AFL's greatest modern dynasty?

Toby Nankervis signed on for a further 3 years, so only Broad and Houli to put pen to paper of the premiership players.

My major midweek takeaways from the 2020 AFL grand final

I don’t think the tigers can claim to be better then the other 3 yet. If they are to reach the grand final next year, then they most probably will be their equal. If they win the flag, making it 4 from 5, then there’s no doubt they’ll be the superior team.

Brisbane, Geelong, Hawthorn or Richmond: Which dynasty has been the best?

No, I think you may have read it wrong Richie. I saw it as highlighting the irony of the sceptics and doubters…. a bit of a backhanded compliment to the enigma that is Richmond.

Scrubs over stars

Well said Peter, however I don’t think the tigers will have it on their terms again next year. Some good up and coming sides and the cats get Cameron. Geelong are clearly a great side and proved the doubters wrong (myself included), that they can indeed play great footy away from GMHBA.
I just think it’s a case of being able to grab them while you can, as next year is never guaranteed.

I just can’t believe that you’d miss the opening of the grand final Josh…. that’s one of the best parts 😔

Five talking points from the 2020 AFL grand final

Ah Clinton Grybass…. a great young Warrandyte lad.

My most memorable commentary moments in modern AFL finals

Sounds like paper, scissors, rock.

Grand final forecast: Richmond versus Geelong

What I might add that is lost on the people who claim that the tigers are not a skilled team due to their high pressure brand, is their handball game has become elite. Gaining the meters required before kicking and penetrating beyond an opposition’s team defence is extremely skilled and an area that is difficult to negate. In full flight, if executed correctly, it is a joy to watch.
