Why isn’t anybody talking about how ridiculous their reasoning is? I keep reading reports about how these players are unhappy with the way the NZRL treated Bromwich and Proctor after they were caught SNORTING COCAINE. That’s right folks, snorting cocaine after a heavy Test Match defeat to Australia. It’s a circus and shows these NRL players have no respect for the game and have little care about the terrible image they are conveying to young fans.
Fifita quits Kangaroos for Tonga at RLWC
Can we talk about the crowd for a second? How good was it to see a packed stadium? I think some ‘Northern’ fans of the NRL choose to ignore how good this club is doing. Sure it helps it have superstar players, but the fans are turning up down there. Is it just a coincidence that the clubs operating alone in big cities like Melbourne and Brisbane are the most successful? I think not. We need to start cutting teams in NSW. We keep trying to come up with useless solutions like reduced ticket prices and better venue accessibility but it’s not working. Let’s be smart about it and grow the game the right way. I’m tired of seeing empty seats.
Storm through to grand final after belting Brisbane
Patty will get paid no matter where he ends up. I don’t think his decision will only be motivated by money. He should ultimately choose to go to a franchise which gives him the best opportunity to shine as a starter. He has proven, albeit sporadically in the playoffs, that he is capable of leading a team and should chase that this summer.
Aussie Mills should stay a Spur
Spot on Jason. Money actually made his situation worse. He wasted most of that as well. Sad story
Aaron Hernandez: An opportunity wasted
You’re right but he’s continued to make comments about it since. I just don’t see why he has to keep talking about it. We know what he wants, it’s time for him and his management to take the negotiations behind closed doors.
The Tigers' big four are a big flop
I’m actually a Canterbury fan and agree with that Barry. Tolman is solid but has no mongrel
The Tigers' big four are a big flop
I do not doubt that he’s a good bloke, but he shouldn’t be discussing his contract negotiations in the media, especially during a such a tough period for the club.
The Tigers' big four are a big flop
The Kiwis and Kangroos played a final in front of over 40 000 at Anfield. Final or not, that’s two international, foreign teams packing out a soccer stadium in Liverpool. People still care about the sport and I bet everybody would be saying that the sport was going gangbusters if England started to win
Chris Anderson fears league may be dead in a decade thanks to union
Here comes Rugger with his Rugby Union nonsense. The Romanian SupaLiga!!! That was one of the funniest comments I have ever read. It’s only natural that these European countries continue to develop the game they were forced to play… Are you forgetting why Rugby Union has a greater international presence than Rugby League? What would happen if European governments began to ban Rugby Union and allowed Rugby League competitions to thrive?

New Orleans was completely devasted after Katrina. The city has done well to get back to where it is. There are parts of the city that are struggling but, there are also areas that are thriving. To call it 3rd world is a stretch… Every city in the States has its problems, New Orleans isn’t unique in that regard
One man and a wrecked crew: Can New Orleans save their season?
Certainly a chance if the offense continues to play well. It could come down to their last game against the Falcons in Atlanta. They probably need 3 away wins in the last month of the regular season to be in contention. Pretty tough
Who Dat: The brilliant, unique aura of the New Orleans Saints
John Grant has done nothing to promote the game beyond the grassroots level. ‘Nurturing the game’ is important but so is spreading the seed. He has an old-school mentality that will hurt the game as long as he stays on the Commission. John Quayle is the guy the game desperately needs
How rugby league was stolen by self-interested clubs
You don’t think either player would take an NFL contract before their current NRL deal expires? The NRL clubs won’t keep a player who has his heart and mind set on playing in the NFL. The timeline of training camp and the NFL season means that these players might have a shot at getting an NFL deal before the NRL season begins…
BREAKING: Jason Taumalolo, Valentine Holmes to trial for NFL
The 49 ers could probably use someone like Hayne right now. Don’t underestimate his success. His time was cut short but his journey wasn’t a failure
NFL looms as rugby league's greatest threat
The NRL is also likely to ban him for 12 months if he’s found guilty. Would the NRL also ban him if he decides to do a Sonny-Bill and walk out on the Eels? His management would be stupid to get him blacklisted from the NRL. If he goes to French Rugby he should do it after his current Eels contract expires. It’s common sense
Radradra back with the Eels after surrendering passport
They’re only a few games from the Raptors in the eastern Conference. The Cavs should have top place locked down but don’t write off the Knicks… It takes time for great players to click and play well together. They have defensive issues but they’re very strong offensively. It’s too early to write them off
The New York Knicks are back
As a resident of New Orleans and an attendee at many Pelicans games, I would have to agree with the things you said about the atmosphere at the Smoothie King Center. People here do not care about the Pelicans; they’re all about the NFL and the Saints. It really is a shame, especially since Davis is one of the best players in the game. He would be a huge drawcard anywhere else, but not in the Big Easy.
One man and a wrecked crew: Can New Orleans save their season?
They have one the best starting 5’s in the league. Brilliant shooters who are starting to find their rhythm. Could see them moving up in the Eastern Conference in the next month, especially if they keep winning at home
The New York Knicks are back
I’m sorry but did you actually say that there is no fitness training? You’re way off mate. They have some of the best athletes in the world. They’re still ‘fit’. It is just a different type of fitness
BREAKING: Jason Taumalolo, Valentine Holmes to trial for NFL
Anyone who says this a ‘publicity stunt’ couldn’t be more wrong. This was kept under wraps for a reason: players, clubs and agents did not want this to be publicized. This is in stark contrast to what Jarryd Hayne did with his massive press conference, sponsorship announcement etc
BREAKING: Jason Taumalolo, Valentine Holmes to trial for NFL
I spoke with my scout at an NFL club and he was in fact ‘drooling’
BREAKING: Jason Taumalolo, Valentine Holmes to trial for NFL
The letter I obtained was sent by the National Football League to all Head Coaches, General Managers and Player Personnel Directors. There is a reason why teams are sending scouts to Los Angeles for their workout: they are outstanding athletes with enormous potential for success. Aside from a few fumbles, Jarryd Hayne proved that Rugby League players could make the transition to the NFL. Give them a chance
BREAKING: Jason Taumalolo, Valentine Holmes to trial for NFL
Taumololo is too tall to play running back and is best suited to playing something on the offensive line. His size and speed make him perfect Tight End.
Holmes is an interesting one though…Definitely not a running back but could prove to be a handy returner/wide receiver
Which NFL positions could Jason Taumalolo and Valentine Holmes play?
Fantastic! Cannot wait to see them play. The Wolfpack have generated a decent level of media attention (including a write-up in the NY Times) so I am sure this NY team will gain some headlines. There are plenty of Aussies, Kiwis and Brits living in the NY area so generating fan support shouldn’t be difficult. Bring it on!
