I think if I was a Warriors diehard I would have been taken to an asylum years ago!

Can we trust the Warriors?
It seems pretty clear that a change of scenery will be best for Benji, and that new blood is needed at Wests. The game will miss him, but it’s true to say that if he has been a draw these last few seasons it’s on reputation rather than form.
Benji Marshall heroics return to Leichhardt
It’ll never ever ever ever happen, but I’d love to see Michael Hooper have a go in league as an edge second rower. His speed and leg drive would make him a terror. The two more that would be sensational are George North (bit of an obvious one) and Tatatfu Polota-Nau
Who from Super Rugby could try their hand at league?
As you can tell, I’m a Sandow apologist, but not even I can defend his defence. I’d say its a bit of a stretch to blame all the Eels problems on Hayne when he hasn’t played much footy these past two seasons

We need to talk about Sandow
We’ll have to agree to disagree on the forwards, but I’m with you about the spine. If Parra can pick up a decent hooker for next season (for arguments sake, let’s say kevin Kingston), at full strength they could have a spine of Hayne/Kelly/Sandow/Kingston. That’s nothing to sneeze at

Jo I’d have to agree with Nathan in thinking that while the boom is temporary, the effects will be felt for much longer. Sage’s dollars might be tempting, but the risk is always that he could be another Tinkler.

Go West, rugby league!
As a closet Mariners fan, I lie awake at night pondering that same question
What if Bennett had stayed in Canberra, and other hypotheticals
Great list. Who doesn’t love a good utility player?
He’s obviously a full-time hooker now, but Danny Buderus was a great utility back in his early days. In his first couple of seasons he drifted between the back row, centre and fullback.
If you want to go right into the wayback machine, Jim Craig started Tests for Australia in at fullback, centre, halfback and 5/8, and also played wing, lock and hooker at club level.
I don’t like it, but your bang on about SBW. He’s a wanker, but a talented wanker!
The best ten utility players in the NRL
For a long time I thought that the answer was treating players like adults and letting them take responsibility for their actions. This was probably a bit naive. Maybe the players need protection from themselves rather than protection from external factors.

The piece is about how I followed the progression of the story throughout the day across Twitter and other media outlets, and how it evolved from rumour to fact (from my perspective)

Thanks mate
Benji for sure could have been a great fullback if they switched him their early, or even when Brett Hodgson left. If memory serves me right he even used to defend on the wing, and return a kick now and then.
I jumped on the Brooks bandwagon so fast I nearly pulled a hammy.

Tim Sheens' era still haunting Benji Marshall
It’s one of my favourite nicknames, right after Phil “Whatsapacketa” Sigsworth
Soward: a mystery wrapped in headgear
The answer is clear……….time for Origin legend Robbie Ross to pull the boots on one last time.
If Stewart manages to play this week, would he be a viable option I wonder?
Play Hayne, but fullback is too big a risk for the Blues
I’m sure there are a lot of Saints fans who still rate Soward, but most of the ones I spoke to were glad to see the back of him. I think “prickly” might be a nice way to describe Soward and Price’s relationship!

Soward: a mystery wrapped in headgear
Mate he’s only played 2 games with Dugan. Dugan does have more to his game, but they weren’t given any time to develop a combinations. Merrin is a great player, one of my favourites, but he’s been playing a lone hand in the forwards for most of the season (Weyman just can’t stay on the field)
