It has taken a few weeks but I can no longer hold my tongue. How can the Israel Folau experiment be considered a success?…

At no point did I ever say Clarke is better than Bradman. No one will ever surpass Bradman. I merely said Clarke is the best since Bradman. He is second. I also make mention of AUSTRALIAN. Last I checked Kallis, Lara, Tendulkar etc are not Australian.

Yeh they did, for sure. I agree with you. But don’t you think the majority of that work comes undone when he leaves out the back door so quickly?
The AFL's great Israel Folau flop
I didn’t say the draft will be rigged for 15 years. I meant, by the time those 15 years were up, GWS will have seen the benefits of having so many high draft picks in the one roster, assuming they can keep their roster together. That’s all.

He worked very hard in an attempt to alter his body composition to something suitable to Aussie Rules. The reality is he only played 13 games of a possible 23. He was a PR/marketing guinea pig and nothing more.

And how many of those fans will stick with the Giants next year now their best-known player is gone?
If anyone in Melbourne pre-Storm was a league supporter, there had to be a couple right, they would have known Glenn Lazarus. The fact they were a winning team from the start, they won the premiership in their second year, was what won them their slice of Melbourne, albeit a small piece.

In 15 years time, if the AFL’s plan to rig the draft in the Giants favour should yield them a few premierships if they get salary cap concessions to keep everyone currently on their list under the cap. That will get the crowds up because let’s be honest, everyone loves a winner!
Also, in 15 years time, if GWS are getting those crowds, it won’t have anything to do with Folau.

Yes, it did put them on the map. But I think interested generated by him will disappear just as quickly now he’s gone.

Easy money, yes. He would not have made $750,000 a year playing League. I say easy money because the man kicked two goals all season (isn’t a forward’s job to kick goals?), got limited disposals/possessions and didn’t physically impose himself like Sheedy said he would. He wasn’t even the Giants best 22 if everyone is being honest.

I don’t think this is getting carried away at all. He has already achieved so much and really, he is only just entering his prime as a batsman now.
