Brendan,
Not sure I get what you are saying, do you think ABs fall along with AU?

Super Rugby teams week 9: Beale back for first time in 1494 days, Reds make 6 changes, Wallaby returns for Brumbies

Bodg,
You’d think he’d have to demonstrate he’s a better option than one of the current players

Jeez I’d be up for that!

To get out of that situation with a player of that ability is frigging amazing.
Unless they already knew he wanted to come home 😂

Fisher-Harris on his way out of Panthers to join NRL rivals after 'one of the game's elite players' gets early release

It could have been Aaron Woods.
They’ll be celebrating well tonight that they filled that gap with such a good player.

Jimmy,
There’s no point making the comparison because AFB is gone, it’s not AFB v JFH, it’s JFH v whoever else could have been signed. They didn’t choose JFH over AFB.
If you look at it through the lens of “AFB is already gone” it’s a fantastic signing, amazing really to come up with such a replacement to fill that gap.
It could have been a lot worse!

Don,
I think keeping Wright at 6 just means one less change in the light of all the others.
Also I think it might help his WB chances.

Good call HiKa, I was doing the match-ups in my head reading the article! 😂

I’m more interested in a centre pairing of Paisami and Petaia! That could be bonkers, in any number of ways.
I think they ‘should’ be able to handle the ‘landers if they have their minds on the job.
I hope Brial gets some reasonable minutes, he looks like a good one

Wallabies star set to make timely return against Crusaders in must-win clash for Force

HJ,
interesting what the ripple effect ofAU doing this would be, is AU Rugby the canary in the coal mine for NZ?
If as it would seem inevitable we could no longer particpate in SRPac (due to worsened results) what is the flow on for NZ? Who do they play, who pays for it and could they afford salaries that keep their best players at home due to reduced broadcast revenue etc?
I’m sure they have “war-gamed” this type of alternate world scenario, or at least they should have, and I’d love to see their contingency plans. 😂

PK,
“they could selected for tests and thus lower their value for a club
that’s actually a good point and one that get’s a bit overlooked.
The imbrolgio over the Japan based players being released after their clubs had thought they were finished with international Rugby kind of highlights that.

You need the players your domestic league can afford without going broke.

HJ,
judging by the comments I read from AOTL (Anyone Other Than Lienster) the model is not beloved in Ireland either.

I think that’s what JS said would be his approach under the status quo anyway so just do it.

Don,
“we do not need to throw out the constitution, or made a radical change to representation and voting rights”
The way I read it one thing I’d like to see is a change to the nominations process to make it more open, transparent, accessible and not a closed shop at the whim of the incumbents and the Chair to “cherry pick” or “captain’s pick” directors who can shore up their power base or rubber stamp what they want.
