Christy you’re not a journalist you’re a cheerleader with an axe to grind. A pundit. Gave you a chance when you joined the roar but never forgot your pushing for cheika to replace McKensie, your pushing the barrow for him ever since and foley long after he was any good. And this year you’ve been pushing Jones. And now when it’s clearly a dumpster fire you’re telling us to stick with him. The emperor has no clothes and, unfortunately, you have no credibility

Eddie Jones should be celebrated not booed: Why the worst thing RA could do is sack the Wallabies coach

does anyone know when Josh Nasser returns from injury for the reds – or is he fit and not getting selected?

Super Rugby Rd 11 teams: Wallabies bolter makes return, key All Blacks duo back from lengthy injuries

What’s the story with Jim Mackay- does he still have the attack coaching position? Haven’t seen much of him lately

Moment of truth: Thorn's job firmly on the line against Moana as Reds plot plan for ex-Wallabies boss

not sure if it’s finalised. but you’d have to think that it was already in discussions before they sacked rennie. but probably the project became a lot more likely to go ahead once ej was anointed. he’s a more controversial figure than rennie and you’d think more likely to drive ratings.

ANALYSIS: Why Eddie was sacked by England, and what he must change to succeed this time around

I wonder if the fact there is going to be a doco series on the team similar to the cricket team under langer if jones’ hard-man style will also prove his undoing. It’s one thing to be rumoured to be hard on players and make them cry, but another if there’s a live recording of it aired on tv

ANALYSIS: Why Eddie was sacked by England, and what he must change to succeed this time around

Does anyone know if Bernard Foley was actually contacted about the wallabies or is that unfounded gossip from Christy Doran at Fox?

He said “… it’s understood fellow-Japanese based playmaker Foley earlier rejected a SOS call-up, after being ignored since the World Cup.”

'There's no panic': Every word Rennie said about Quade's secret audition, Hoops milestone, Banks decision

One of the easiest for sure, because he’s our best 7. But the issue isn’t his ability at 7 but his inability as captain. Australia has performed terribly under his captaincy. Yes, that coincided with Cheika’s coaching but one always got the sense that he lacked common sense on the field when making decisions – either under pressure or not. He’s the most yellow carded international player, remember. Not to mention his poor option taking at penalty time. So, a fantastic player, poor captain.

That said, I don’t think Rennie had too many options though. Probably hoping that one of the youngsters adapts well to international scene and demands selection

Michael Hooper will remain as Wallabies captain for 2020

Do you make anything of the fact that the three that abstained are from north of the tweed?

11 former Wallaby captains sign letter calling for Rugby AU leadership resignations

Is that you, Phil? They earned respect as footballers but how many have earned respect as sport administrators?

11 former Wallaby captains sign letter calling for Rugby AU leadership resignations

And that’s what we call a one eyed supporter. Yes cheika delivered a super crown to nsw and bundled eng out of 2015 RWC. But he has made the same fat-headed decisions for 3 and a half years. And nsw supporters didn’t mind because it was their own team benefiting from the bias selections. And even now you love him? Obviously put your state above the country. Cheika is a throwback to the amateur era and totally at sea in a professional landscape. And his passion? What good is passion if you haven’t got a strategy? If you have no man management skills? If you can’t handle criticism? In what other sphere of endeavor is passion enough? He’s a laughing stock and you couldn’t see it – blinded by love. He delivered the worst results of any coach for over 60 years. In light of all that, your opinion seems to amount to nothing more than a girlish crush. And that’s a bit sad

Cheika's legacy: Consistent inconsistency and puzzling selection to the very end

Just so annoyed that we had to sit through the cheika years and that they lasted so long. He should’ve been sacked in 2017. So much waste, and so much damage to Australian rugby – both players and audiences. The biggest issue for me is how nsw has dominated the ranks of decision making for so long both at RA and in the press. That has to change. So long Cheika and all your apologists – I hope we never hear from you again

England eliminate Wallabies in World Cup quarter-final

Kafer has proved himself Cheikas lapdog for the past 5 years – bit late to start offering criticism. more likely he sees the writing on the wall and belatedly trying to get on the right side of history

Just their best performance of 2019: the Wallabies' simple quarter-final assignment

It’s terrible man-management to continually pick someone for a role that they simply can’t perform. It’s no wonder he’s down on confidence. He has got to be aware that he isn’t cutting the mustard but then again he doesn’t want to let down his coach who, despite all the evidence to the contrary, still believes him to be some sort of saviour. Probably some form of the sunk-cost fallacy. Damn tricky spot he’s in. I feel for him too

Jordan Petaia finally set for Wallabies debut as Michael Cheika names team for Uruguay

Not that the RWC is Shakespearean drama, but if it were and Cheika the tragic hero his tragic flaw, bringing about his ultimate downfall, would be Foley.

Jordan Petaia finally set for Wallabies debut as Michael Cheika names team for Uruguay

I find it absolutely stunning that even after 4 years of truly pedestrian performances from foley that his “fans” are still making excuses for him to start. It was Genia, it was White, it was the forwards, he’s down on confidence etc ad nauseum. He was the worst player on the field in both games this year. Shouldn’t be even in the tournament and yet the foley fanatics are doubling down on a bad bet and hoping he starts? Ffs If the Wales games wasn’t enough, what will it take to open their eyes, oh lord?

Lealiifano carefully managed through Cup swansong

Not sure i agree with your assessment of Genia’s kicking. he’s a good kicker for territory, and quite good at exiting from within the 22 – just not a great box kicker.

How will the Wallabies unravel Warren Gatland’s Welsh web?

you should probably just apologise to your gf 🙂

How will the Wallabies unravel Warren Gatland’s Welsh web?

Yes, agree there. I just think that it would have been more competitive if a certain someone else was going up against CLL 🙂

World Cup hunger in the snubbed Wallabies veterans only a good thing

Neither is he always a strength. Sometimes his work rate is high but his impact around the park is not evident

World Cup hunger in the snubbed Wallabies veterans only a good thing

I’m just surprised that we don’t know the answer to this because Hooper has so rarely not played even when he hasn’t been in form!

World Cup hunger in the snubbed Wallabies veterans only a good thing

Hi Brett, I think it’s called common sense.

a few months ago, many were concerned Foley would be rubber-stamped into the RWC team ust because of Cheika’s stubborn inability to look elsewhere.

The fact that he’s on the outer is one of the signs that the panel is having a positive impact. I don’t think it’ll be enough to make us a winning team, but we’ll be a damn site more competitive as a result

World Cup hunger in the snubbed Wallabies veterans only a good thing

He’s been playing elite rugby for nearly 10 years – if he hasn’t learnt to be comfortable under the high ball in that time it is not realistic that he’s going to learn in a couple of weeks and then expect him to deliver under pressure in a WC

31 picked but the Wallabies' XV already looks pretty set

Agree on Dempsey. I really liked him a couple of years ago, but has not come back anywhere near that form. On the other hand, Samu’s form really picked up as the Brumbies season wore on. The out of left field selections of Dempsey + AAC certainly give the appearance of favouritism. You could also argue that Foley is surplus to requirements given that both Toomua and O’Connor can also play 5/8.

Wallabies name 31-man squad for 2019 Rugby World Cup

15? Um, since when?

Wallabies name 31-man squad for 2019 Rugby World Cup

The selection panel was forced on Cheika, so hardly able to credit him with that. Re the gameplan, it seems he’s lifted that from the Rebels – so credit Cheika with “borrowing” Berne’s plan? OK.
But your second point just doesn’t stand up. How many players have gone overseas due to Cheika’s stubborn selections? White, Toomua, Godwin, Tomane etc
And as far as O’Connor goes, he was lured back by Johnson not Cheika.
Re the forwards, Gill went overseas, as did Fardy. Timani, Nasarini, Valentini all got overlooked for … wait for it … Hanigan. in 2016 it was clear the best locks were Coleman and Arnold, but it’s taken Cheika 4 years to see that Arnold was always a top lock.
The losing team we had for the last four years was all Cheika’s. Now that a selection panel has been put in place, despite his pleas, the team is very different from what he would have selected and it also starts performing.

What we know after the Wallabies' stunning Bledisloe 1 win
