Firstly great game……Boy deans made a mistake in not picking Barnes. Interesting to see our front row put the pressure on. Loved Slippers effort. Good win. Rob Horne also looks very fit. Will be good to see him this Autumn tour.

Wallabies beat Wales to finish third in RWC

Carter is still out….isnt he? forget Beale….that has maybe 15% of the effect on the Wallabies that Carter has on the AB’s

Wallabies buggered without Beale

What a shame……Wales should have won with 14 and would have walked it in with 15. Boy I know its the Rules, but what a way to go out. So it seems the world cup final is tomorrow……go gold

France defeat Wales to make Rugby World Cup final

Ray hadley is EXACTLY what rugby needs at home….it’s a shame Darell Eastlake is not available. We need genuine excitement reverberating across the living room….not Gordon Bray who sounds like he is reading from a fine wine list. This is a big opening for rugby at home and if Ray can somehow impart the size of the occasion, the skill of the players to additional or new rugby watchers then excellent.

Why is Hadley calling the RWC semi-final?

Let’s be honest….without mcCaw the AB have a very serious issue and that is no real No7. Todd should be there nit Thompson or Vito…pocock will have a field day and the AB are not as big as the Boks. If mcaw is injured it’s over.

New Zealand planning for life without McCaw, Carter

Interesting no one mentions the weather or the ref…excellent write up. I do however disagree with fellow roarers…back rows have been more critical than ever an the Irish back row is all world at the moment. Heaslip and Obrien would be first picked. I think the Irish pack will be too much for the welsh. Too many lions in the pack and oconnel has them playing with a ferocity that excesedes the blcks or the boks.

Green by a margin

Ireland dream of Rugby World Cup glory

Please JOC and Beale would both be picked as well as genia and ioene by most roarers. ACC maybe loses by a feather to smith at 13….maybe. So you have Carter and nonu. The only 2 that are no debate.

Consistency the key for the Wallabies backs

Well 2 halves from the Wallabies 2nd against Italy and 1st against Russia……..2 powerhouses of world rugby.

France say they are ready for England

I hope the wallabies have this story on their chane room wall. It looks like it’s going to be dry. They have smit starting Whig means the wallabies will have parity in the scrum to start the match and the boks played terrible against Wales and Samoa. If it is remotely dry and the forecast says it will be the wallabies know how to play this big old bok forwards and that is side to side width an speed.

Wallabies by 15

Jake backs Boks to go all the way

Not ireland…..is it just me or do they play like England 2003

Pocock v Brussow battle the key, says de Villiers

they were too busy cheering when Ireland won. I have a bad feeling this weekend, and we have won 5 of 6.

Wallabies set for torrid clash with Boks

I think with the conditions you have to extend it to the entire back row battle. I hope rocky is up to it……going to be a titanic game. Rocky Vs Schalk, Samo Vs Spies, Pocock vs Brussow…..oh baby bring Sunday on.

Pocock v Brussow battle the key, says de Villiers

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT PICK MCCABE OVER BARNES. I know we won the trinations with Mcabe there, but i hardly think we would have been worse off had Barnes been available. This game is going to come down to kicking for position…especially in the wet. Barnes simply and clearly offers more than McCabe. It would be very tempting to drop Cooper for this game as he struggles when it is wet also. I think selections will play an enormous part here and they have to be correct. That being said Sharpe has to play with Horwill with vicks coming off the bench. Rocky has to be given about 15 minutes to determine if he is upto it as does Samo. If not Higgers has to come on.

Lets go Wallabies, its been 4 years since i was embarrassed in Marseilles and had to spend an evening with a couple thousand Poms. One more push, as i really think on a dry track with no Carter we can roll the Blacks.

Wallabies set for torrid clash with Boks

I thought the Boks looked poor against Samoa and simply lost to wales everywhere but the score board. The Wallabies know how to play the boks which is side to side and wear them out.

Are the Boks pulling wool over our eyes?

If it is a dry track the Italians are toast. Ireland actually have some backs. pray for rain as well.

Italy becomes the Wallabies' best mate

This is New Zealand, there is no way we are getting three dry weekends in a row for the finals. If it is wet against the Boks we are done. fingers crossed for an Italy upset this weekend. Can not believe deans may play Samo on the wing on the weekend…..if he pulls a hammy Im going to be upset. Really like the look of barnes at 12. I hope they go and get Robinson or Waugh to replace Palu.

Decent weather, running rugby, hope for Wallabies

Very Interesting…injuries may be a blessing. Barnes is in at 12 for sure. Interchanged with Cooper. When Cooper stands wider he really creates problems. ACC to move to the centers.

Sharpe has to play against the boks, he is too strong in the lineout and kick restarts. He was my MOTM.

Also give everyone a rest for the Russians. Bring out Waugh for 7 cover if anyone injured. we didnt effect 1 turnover, thats rediculous on a 67 point thrashing….MCalman at 7 is a failure

Team for the Boks
1. Alexander
2. Moore
3. Slipper
4. Sharpe
5.Horwill
6.Elsom
7.Pocock
8.Samo
9.Genia
10.Cooper
11.JOC
12.Barnes
13.ACC
14 Ioane
15.Beale

16.Vickerman
17. Higgers
18. Kepu
19. TPN
20. Palu
21. AFaingga
22. Burgess

good looking team

Wallabies suffer more injuries in costly win

Wallabies suffer more injuries in costly win

The frustrating issue here is the Wallabies are more than capable of doing just that…….If they get through south Africa, which i think baring injuries they will, then what a Semi against the AB’s….it really then becomes one game at a time. The focus will return. The wallabies are the only team that can beat the AB’s most of them have done it several times this year in big games if you include the Reds.

Wallabies' RWC hopes rest on a five-match streak

I like Gordon Bray, but what he needs is a Darrell Eastlake type with him…….to relay the excitment. Im not a huge league fan but Darrell really added something to the games. Rugby is getting closer, we need the “goooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllll” of rugby. Greg Martin is the best we have.

Bring back Gordon Bray

Nice write up spiro. I am not sure I would rather face the boks than the welsh. The boks were comprehensively outplayed. Wales may just learn how to finish. The wallabies look very dangerous and it is wonderful to see the level of starch vickerman adds to this pack.

Cooper was my MAn of Match.

You are right about the so called minows….it may not happen this cup but definately someone big is going to get beaten by a Samoa Japan or even the US.

What a wonderful tournament, I am in heaven watching non stop rugby.

In the end, a great opening RWC round for the Wallabies

Thought the AB backs all looked pretty good. Interesting to see the scrum without Woodcock and Thorn. I think the French will have taken notice.

I like SBW and Nonu as centers and Dagg at 15.

All Blacks defeat Tonga in World Cup opener

this is a great decision and for a lot of people the AB’s prefered backline. Dont be surprised to see it continue.

Sonny Bill Williams gets World Cup callup

He really must be getting some shocking advice…..he was finally mending his image and reputation and creation the “Quan” to quote from Jerry Mcguire. He really must be thick to be even attempting this now. Sign with NZRU for one more year then check options with reputation in tack. I really hope Quade sees the light……the chance to be a legend in rugby……much more money over a lifetime than quick short term remuneration.

Sonny Bill Williams still to make up his mind

I don’t think it should be a nonu sub for SBW. I’d play nonu at 13. I have a feeling smith is going to botch something or just be pedestrian which he has been all year. SBW has been anything but. As a wallaby fan I worry about nonu dagg Carter…not smith. Would be very worried with SBW.

Why Sonny doesn't fit the Bill for the All Blacks
