Great to see Donaldson do well.
Really good to see KB back. He has had a very hard few years and deserved better treatment.

Five things: What Beale has over other golden oldies, double pain for Brumbies as Blues expose Australia's biggest weakness

Yes but with no real player base (except NSW and QLD) and no real supporter base/market, they may as well be in Melb.

One big step closer to the move to Melbourne.

Brumbies 'systematically taken apart by the Blues' in 'non-contest' as Larkham's men cop huge reality check

I am reluctant to overestimate the importance of this result but I do think it leaves no doubt that this is one of the best provincial rugby teams in the world.
If not the best.
Perhaps in many years.
Not sure who the last team to beat the Crusaders twice in a season was or who the last team from Aust to so was but this is truly historic.
I think we should call the comp over now and declare the Tah’s champions for 2024.

'Last few years have been hell': Iceman 2.0 Harrison gets 'dream come true' in Tahs' stunning golden point win

Great to see the Rebels get the W.
It is just such a shame that the administration of Rugby in Aus has been so poor for so long.

'Kid wonder': Lancaster, Gordon shine as Rebels take one giant step in locking in maiden Super Rugby finals berth

An earlier article highlighted the problem with appointing a coach that has not been in charge of a truly professional team. That was the criticism of Coleman.
Yet it seem to be exactly what they are again considering.
I think Coleman has done Ok, it has been a hard few years for Rugby in Aus and there would be good reasons to give him 2 more years.

Rugby Australia kicks off review into Waratahs as pressure mounts on Coleman ahead of Brumbies clash

The last thing we want is someone who has proved themselves to be successful!
Wouldn’t that be stupid.

Rugby Australia kicks off review into Waratahs as pressure mounts on Coleman ahead of Brumbies clash

The review will say …
Mistakes were made ….
money was wasted ….
No one who works here now was to blame …
Should do better next time.

I would love to see us keep a Melbourne team.
I am a little concerned about the potential ground.
How do you Brumbies fans now feel about a move to Melbourne’s west?

PE backed consortium 'in final stages' to save Melbourne Rebels with $30m injection and link with A-League club

The Tah’s are having a hard year.
They just seem to lack composure at important times.
That game was not helped by a number of interesting call from the Ref.

'Something's not working': Tahs' Good Friday turns into a nightmare as Rebels recruit Daugunu seals upset win

I think Coleman has done ok. The Tah’s are developing and remaining competitive.
Rugby in Aus needs to come to terms with we’re they are at financially.

'Talent can be fickle': Schmidt avoids rushing to conclusions as JOC calls for 'Reds-heavy' Wallabies

the lack of engagement and communication disconnect between those responsible for running the competition, and rugby’s fanbase has never been wider

This was really a pretty good week for Super Rugby in Aus. The Rebels got the W and the Force were unlucky not to. RA has never had much love for these sides but maintains them is important to the real growth in strength of Rugby in Aus.

The Tah’s were disappointing but us loyal followers are used to that.

RA has spent the last 10 years looking to impress polite society with how virtuous they are. This has seen no attempt to attract young rugby players and their family and friends to rugby beyond the Sydney private school competitions.

Suddenly they are surprised the money is not rolling in.

The Wrap: The two massive power shifts shaping Australian and New Zealand rugby

I knew the Tah’s were in trouble with about 20 to go when on the Stan commentary Harrison said he thought the Tah’s would win. His commentary is just so hard to listen to.
I do really struggle with the use of the box kick by so many Australian sides. As a spectator it mostly looks like the team has run out of ideas.
Missing points and silly errors cost the Tah’s.

'Gutted': Edmed misses shot after siren as Tahs blow chance of going back-to-back against Kiwis for first time since 2015

I have no interest in the Rebels.
The problem is that RA have just been so incompetent for so long.
I have no love for AFL but look at how they develop their game, compare that to RA.
Super rugby teams in and out, NRC on and off, Castle, Foxtel, Qantas, Clyne etc etc …
RA is a clown show.
Rugby survives despite RA.
It is impossible to defend them.

ANALYSIS: The Rebels aren't going down without a fight - and they might drag Rugby Australia down with them

I am never sure why the coach seem to cop it for a loss so much more than the players.
As Wallabies fans with only very short memories know, not having a test standard 10 really hurts your performance.

The Crusaders dynasty looks dead - so how will it impact the All Blacks?

The Tah’s are clearly the best super rugby side in the comp.
JS should just pick the 23 for the Wallabies.

Time to force the underperforming Brumbies to move to Melbourne, as most of their good players come from NSW and QLD it’s just a slightly longer flight.

Five things we learned: The general who caught Schmidt's eye, why next week is vital for Coleman's Tahs

Great result for the team, for Coleman and for the hopes of rugby in Aus.
It does still seem NZ has a different concept of a forward pass than Aus.

'No one backed us': $8 outsiders Waratahs upset Crusaders AGAIN as Edmed steps up to deliver famous win

The administration of Rugby in Aus is a disgrace.
Just like the NRC, there is a lack of commitment to developing anything.
Compare this with AFL, a rubbish game played in part of one of the smallest sporting markets but it thrives because of good administrators.
This is the one thing RA does well, leaks bad news to soften the impact.
I pay for Stan sport just for Rugby, last week was the first time I did not watch the games.
We are watching in slow motion as RA relegates rugby to a very minor sport in Aus.

'Ready to go': Jaguares set for early return to Super Rugby if Rebels fall over

He has been good at this level.
Buts let’s remember who they were playing.
Need to avoid the hype.

'Tough call': Reds too good for Tahs in cracking Aussie derby, as controversial penalty try, yellow to Jorgo proves telling

As a wallabies fan last year was hard.
As a Tah’s fan this year now looks pretty hard as well.
Next years Roosters player looked good.

'Tough call': Reds too good for Tahs in cracking Aussie derby, as controversial penalty try, yellow to Jorgo proves telling

Yes.
But I think they are looking at their next 10 anyway.

'Tough call': Reds too good for Tahs in cracking Aussie derby, as controversial penalty try, yellow to Jorgo proves telling

You have to build from within and you have to be patient and you have to invest in young people.

That is precisely what the Rebels and Force are about.

The problem has been that very bad decisions have been made by RA damaging the ability of these sides to develop.

Australian has the complication of AFL and NRL, consuming a massive part of the sporting market.
Why doesn’t NZ have the worlds best Rugby League team?
Answer, who cares, yes but it is because it has a limited place in the sporting market if NZ.

Rugby needs to keep the talent it has in the schools, develop that talent and grow its market.

Rugby in Aus survives despite the administrators, not because of them.

Poaching NZ coaches won't solve the Wallabies' woes - the real solution is a lot less sexy

Jack,
There may be 300,000 but they mostly live off the Tax paid by your fellow Australians not from a real economy.
The Wallabies you claim mostly came from NSW or QLD, like the ACT economy you are living off others hard work.
That’s why a combined outfit playing out of Melb makes so much sense.

The Wrap: Code Orange as looming Rebels decision places rugby pathways at risk

It’s easy to predict what RA will do – RA will do what is best for the individuals in the offices of RA,
They have for the last 30 plus years.
To place tha ACT over VIC is just so obviously idiotic that it will be clear to RA what to do.
Send cash to the politicians paradise and leave VIC to starve to death.
Why would you want to be in Australia’s largest city?
