Just look at the difference between players birn either side of the 21st/22nd. Those in the first ⅔rds of December are flamboyant and do things light on their feet. The last 10 days are dour and aloof.

This is no more highlighted than the differences between Tiger and Grumm. Even their nicknames are reflective of their Sun Signs. Bill was gregarious and ready for the fight whereas Clarrie wheeled around industriously giving nothing away in his redoubtable quest for world domination.

I don’t understand the lauding of Punter as a captain. Yes, l know excellent stats. When McGrath rolled his ankle that’s where Ponting should’ve shined. He didn’t. I also don’t know why the Bee Gees outsold Dylan!

I reckon you drop players first then pick the next best. You either drop your player or you don’t. “X” has no impact on “Y”

I think Gilly is the greatest all-rounder. His numbers in both disciplines are exceptional and he trumps Sangakkara because his numbers were achieved whilst both disciplines were exhibited concurrently.

He didn’t want to go. He was offered $200k just to sign, not play, and then turned the equivalent of $400k and still he refused.

In the 80s there was the Retention Scheme that basically paid the best SA players to stay. Aish and McIntosh were two who never left SA for the same reason.
