It would be harsh to fire him in a Covid year

Will Foster be shown the door if the All Blacks lose to the Pumas again?

Not impressed with Cane as Captain over the last period. The guy is reacting to much which is filtering through the team. Needs to stay cool headed and ultra professional. Oz fan but can see that the AB can be rattled now

All Blacks tinker with forward pack as Pumas make ten changes for Tri Nations clash

I don’t know enough about the Pumas players. Is this a 2nd strong team?

Yes Harry..as I said, he is filling the gap while players are not available (LSL) and has been good at filling the role of LO caller.

Rob Simmons is not lazy

IMO which is worth little is that he is hanging onto the Hannigan band wagon to much. I would rather see Wright and Valentini being experiment with as we have seen this before. Start with one and then give the other a reasonable run from the bench then swap it around if the bench option makes an impact. Both Wright and Valentini are coming from the two best and well trained packs in AU rugby.

6-6-6: Where is the big beast of the Wallaby back row?

I am certain the guy has slept with someones daughter in the upper ranks of RA

Plus we seem to have developed a Throwing issue with our number 2s….

6-6-6: Where is the big beast of the Wallaby back row?

I could kiss you for this comment. I have been harping on about our back row and do not see the point of a Hanigan selection when they are not being used for the lineout. They do not bring enough in the rest of their game for me. I want to see more of a hard-working enforcer at 6 doing the non-glory things but has the opposition looking up for them. IMO we are at a stopgap of having to develop one. We have no immediate solution but Swinton might be that solution next year but I also think players like Valentini need to be looked at and further developed as they have the physical frame we need. If we could get the positional awareness into both Swinton and Valentini (might already have it but not sure) and I am assuming Wright will naturally get more physical with age then we have some 6s with cover.

6-6-6: Where is the big beast of the Wallaby back row?

IMO he is the only one leading the current Wallabies pack and I am enjoying watching him pushing the opposition around and giving them a spray. To me none of the other forwards have stepped up into this role like Philips has.

Rob Simmons is not lazy

At the end of the day he is filling a gap while other players are not available. Simmons has been good in filling the gap of the lineout caller but that is more of a reflection on Aus poor coaching across the SR teams.

Rob Simmons is not lazy

Try yes, but he is not hitting rucks at a level that is intimidating opposition.

Whitlock is the leader

Rob Simmons is not lazy

I have to admit….I would never put Simmons on the same mould of Whitelock and Itoje. These guys particularly in there prime are capable of leading a forward pack and bullying the opposition team. Key traits that has made them very successful.

Rob Simmons is not lazy

I would not say he was hitting the rucks the hardest (TT, Wilson, and Valentini) but it was a far more physical performance from Simmons. But I need to see it consistently from him, not as an exception as last week is. I hope under DR we see are far more physically consistent Simmons but also expect him to be back on the bench when the far more imposing LSL returns.

Kick penalty goals when on offer…..

The Tri Nations equations: What the Wallabies, Pumas and All Blacks need to do to win

He has had a history of loosing the ball in contact. Does not seem to be an issue now but it takes some time to regain fans confidence when we have been subjected to near 20years of error riddled rugby.

Rob Simmons is not lazy

I think a key recognition for Philip is that he has clearly taken a leadership role within the pack. He does not back down and leads the pack forward. Unfortunately Simmons with all his experience has never been this guy. You don’t turn to Simmons to get go forward when your pack is loosing confidence. In all levels of Rugby, natural leaders are the hardest players to find.

Lineout…we have had a lineout caller shortage in this country for ages now.

Lol Dean Mumm but bigger…very true

Rob Simmons is not lazy

I have always been critical of his ball carrying but was very impressed with him on the weekend. He was a stand out forward on the weekend and actually play a role of an enforcer. Happy to see this.

The post game Hooper said they did not know it was going to rain….Kafer said in the pre game that there was rain about….made me wonder what is going on when the Fox team know more then the Wallabies Captain…

One of the kick returns Wright did was pure class. Had a wall of defenders and he kinder turned sideways and slotted through the gap. Got tackles but eliminated the certain dominant tackle making sure we could get back and secure the breakdown.

Immediately noticed Valabtini size on the field. He is a unit. He literally threw one of the Argies away from the breakdown.

I am very impressed with Tom Wright. He seems like a natural Test player who makes good decisions. He was my best back follower by Banks who has been impressing me. Banks D has been strong and very dominant under the highball. He appears to be our most reliable 15. He was more involved in attack but I think he is suffering from the inexperienced centres. Our 12/13 combo seem very difficult to run off.

I am not a Simmons fan but he stepped it up in that game.
