No shock at all. Has been a great servant for the Dogs but I felt he was no longer best 22 this year. Congrats on a good career. Certainly got the most out of yourself.

Dog done: Premiership captain announces AFL retirement

You do know that Benny Gale is a lawyer as well as a brainiac and law abiding citizen. Pretty sure his understanding of contempt of court issues are far more accurate than your own clumsy attempt to belittle the RFC.

Tigers 'appalled' by 'inflammatory allegations' at AFL club's medical staff

Just hope they nail it with their picks! Could be the nucleus of a flag tilt in 5 years.

You obviously know very little about the coronial court! Don’t know if there was evidence presented to prove his statement, though I doubt it very much, but coroners quite often voice an opinion of what has likely occurred without any conclusive evidence. Not sure you understand what contempt of court actually means, Toots but it certainly can’t be applied in this instance. The coroner’s opinion may or may not reflect public opinion, in fact it often doesn’t. Keep grinding that axe, dude.

Think I’ve come across him on the AFL site. That, together with his comment regarding Jai Richardson I thought it safe to assume he’s from W.A.

Pretty sure ‘Simoc’ is a disgruntled West Aussie with an axe to grind.

Why so bitter? His test record says you have no clue.

Agree regarding English. Though I’d go even further . . . will never develop into an effective ruckman!

‘Ethically wrong’: AFL star not keen on mandatory jabs

Wow. Didn’t know that children go grey. Hereditary?

That’s right, Tim. I have two nephews, twins aged 17, who were hospitalised with the same problem. They’re now on a load of medication and under strict orders to ‘rest’ for 3 months while undergoing weekly examinations.

Hawks have the most promising defence in the league.

Errr, yeah. And maybe he doesn’t. What’s it to ya’?

Wassup, Power? Going bald?

Absolutely they should try to jag one more with this list! I’m okay with that. What I don’t want to see is a Geelong style, decade long aversion to the draft and bringing in ‘old’ blokes year after year after year at the expense of gaining, and nurturing, young talent. Part of the beauty of our recent success is it was largely built on the back of a group of young blokes. Earlyish draft picks, later picks, rookies, and largely no name recruits. Now that has to be more satisfying than winning a flag with a highly paid foreign legion of stars.

Emptying the kitty litter: What does the future hold for Geelong?

Expected to be right for day one of preseason.

Emptying the kitty litter: What does the future hold for Geelong?

Lol. Could never forget those 37 long years. No arguing our years in the wilderness. Fail to see their relevance to the here and now, though. Has nothing to do with where these two clubs sit at present. The time for both, it would seem, is to strike right now. Something we’ve done 3 times recently. I, for one, will be disappointed if, like Geelong, we keep topping up with older recruits from other clubs just to ‘challenge’.

Emptying the kitty litter: What does the future hold for Geelong?

Think we were shot before Dusty went down, really. Full bellies? Maybe. That certainly aint the Cats’ problem.

Emptying the kitty litter: What does the future hold for Geelong?

Indeed they did. Yet when challenged in the second half they had no answers and merely crumbled under the pressure. An all too familiar characteristic of Geelong sides over the past decade.

Probably some references there to the author’s immaturity, Boo. Next year will be telling for both clubs, no doubt. Me, I’ll take the three flags over 10 years of ‘challenging’ every day of the week. Pretty poor form though to dismiss Richmond’s injuries as a ‘lame excuse’ while using Geelong’s injuries as a central plank of why Geelong couldn’t salute on the author’s part. How about this, neither side was worthy in 2021. Quite simple, really.

‘Cleaned out’ their assistant coaches! Ha! Cool story bro’.

Emptying the kitty litter: What does the future hold for Geelong?

Those three flags were a long time ago, Boo. So yeah, hardly relevant in this context. If you think that I’m ‘spouting off’ I’d say the three flags speak for themselves. 3 GFs for 3 flags! That’s an impressive strike rate in anyone’s language. It’s obviously difficult to back up after such success, as you point out Brisbane and Hawthorn couldn’t go on with it. Seems you’ve written the Tigers off as a threat next year before a ball has been bounced.

As for Geelong being ‘the only team to challenge after 3 flags . . . have they really challenged? Or have they merely remained competitive in the h & a season? A decade of finals failure hardly paints the Cats as genuinely challenging in my book.

Emptying the kitty litter: What does the future hold for Geelong?

‘But I am not affording the Cats the same limp excuse.’ Really!? Then in almost the same breath, ‘Let us consider all the injured players.’ Wow. Sounds like the same ‘limp’ excuse to me. Your continual want to compare Geelong to Richmond has become quite tragic. Perhaps when the Cats win 3 flags in quick succession the comparisons may have more weight and value. Till then you need to look at Geelong in isolation and why they continue to fail at the pointy end. Great teams strike when they have the opportunity. Geelong are a good side but not a great side.

Emptying the kitty litter: What does the future hold for Geelong?

Ahhh, Tootsie. You never disappoint. As for you never having blamed Geelong’s injuries for their failure this year . . . yeah, right. You need to read through your old posts, and some recent ones. Very recent ones. Seems to me when Stewart went down it really was a case of ‘the sky is falling, the sky is falling . . . ‘ Injuries are the only reasons you have offered for Geelong’s woeful exit from the premiership race.
