What’s the bet The Bakrie Group retain Brisbane Roar by appointing a CEO and stating their “vision” for the club? What’s the bet behind closed doors FFA are saying you sell this bloody club by a certain date or we’ll strip you of the licence? At least giving the Bakrie Group a chance to recoup some losses?

Groundhog day for Brisbane Roar and the Bakrie Group

As Leicester proved, money doesn’t buy you everything.

Mooy set to leave Melbourne City

MF, yes two out of four games broadcast live every week, but two additional games will be shown on delay by Nine, while the remaining two matches of every round will be available on Telstra TV. Every match will be streamed live through the Netball Live app.

Now that’s something the A-League could use. A-League live app and Telstra TV or something like that.

Concerns regarding the next A-League TV deal

And FFA Cup? Wouldn’t they be awesome to see! When do the rights to the FFA Cup expire Mr. Fuss? Would they fetch TV coins in they own right?

Caltex, just Google Steven Lowy and you’ll find what AR is saying is correct.

We’re in the process of starting to go out to the market, many of them are new players,” Lowy said.

“I’ve seen numbers in the paper of $80m and therefore if we get less than that it’d be ‘oh, they did a terrible deal’ or if we get more then it’s ‘wow, way above expectation’.

“I don’t work like that as a businessman. I want to say formally here that we need to dispel any (monetary) expectation. It will be what it will be.”

Lowy was happy to say, however, how crucial free to air TV exposure is for a sport that is booming at grassroots level but failing to get the same cut through at the top end.

“Subscription TV accounts for about a third of the households in the country, that’s not enough,” he said.

“The current penetration of SBS is far too low.

“There also is a very strong interest from free to air. You’ve seen what Seven did with the Matildas.

“Seven and Nine have both taken an active interest in international (club) games that have taken place and that’s very good, very interesting. “Those opportunities were not available in the last round of negotiations, so the landscape has changed.”

Like the way you think, MF. Seems reasonable.

Dan, you need a chill pill good sir.

Concerns regarding the next A-League TV deal

Netball Australia have just announced they’re breaking away from the Trans-Tasman competition which had New Zealand teams.

Three additional teams will be brought in and those teams will be aligned with NRL’s Melbourne Storm and AFL’s Collingwood and GWS.

An eight team competition and more interestingly, a broadcast deal has been struck with the Nine Network.

Broadcasting of matches to take place from February quite possibly on the Go! channel as Rugby League will be broadcast on 9.

Does this effectively rule the Nine Network out of the running for A-League rights? With a strong commitment to broadcasting Netball in prime time on Saturdays, I would say yes. Interesting times for sport in Australia and congratulations to Netball Australia.

Concerns regarding the next A-League TV deal

Nine Network does not mean channel 9. It means their network as a whole and therefore can be broadcast as they’ve stated on perhaps channel Go!.

Point that should be made is that the scheduling made in the NRL is pathetic and is the furthest thing from being even.

How can the Cowboys and Parramatta have already played twice before versing other sides. It’s ridiculous.

Can anyone actually challenge the Broncos and Cowboys in 2016?

I said that Punter.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Brisbane Roar highlights: Vidosic winner puts Wanderers in grand final

With an * citing extra time, not record for 90 minutes.

Yes it does. Cause even if they lose the GF. The next ACL spot goes to second place on the regular season ladder. Roar have qualified for the ACL so Wanderers have too.

Having Besart play will bump Roar’s attendance a few thousand.

Berisha cleared to play A-League finals

Why should Australians who live here, care what other countries do?

Funnily enough, football/soccer in this country has for many years had a finals system.

Even in the old NSL days. Has nothing to do with other sports. We haven’t changed the way the game is played by having a finals system. We have just adopted long ago, and accepted the finals experience.

The A-League's finals series needs to be scrapped

Hardest group in Asia’s East and Sydney are top of the group. Fantastic result. Hopefully Sydney fans turn out in much larger numbers for the next match.

Sydney FC beat Pohang, on verge of ACL 16

The A-League draw is one of if not the most fair in Australia for domestic sporting competitions.

The team that finishes first and makes the Grand final should host. It would be illogical to have Melbourne Victory vs Melbourne City in Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth etc.

This isn’t European football where the sport is the number one language and there are more countries than the one participating.

As for the other grand finals in this country, how are they not fair? I’d like to know your reasoning being this.

The A-League's finals series needs to be scrapped

The finals concept is one long been used in both football/soccer and other sports in this country. It’s part of the fabric that makes this country grand. We don’t need to be like Spain. We don’t need to be like Italy. We don’t need to be like England. We need to be ourselves. I have no doubt the writer is a passionate football supporter but I also have no doubt he’s pro-Euro way and doesn’t grasp nor understand the magnitude of finals football and what it brings to each sporting code.

The A-League's finals series needs to be scrapped

One would argue there isn’t much between the top and mediocrity this season then.

The A-League's finals series needs to be scrapped

Why are you using a new profile? What happened to the old one? Well the real Fuss please stand up.

The A-League's finals series needs to be scrapped

If the FFA decide to exclusively stay with Fox, the only way the comp will benefit is if extra TV revenue is used for the purpose of purchasing quality marquees that have a name worthy of marketing and ability to perform on field. This way it’ll at least boost and hopefully attract numbers.

If what you say is true, I only see this as a positive for football for it’s double what we were 4 seasons ago.

Though with it, expect the players to want an increase in pay. I would expect club salaries to eventually climb to $3-4 million.

New A-League TV deal talks set to start in April

Remember the saying “There are many a slip between a cup and a lip” ?

Only just two rounds ago, Roar were lambasted by the fans for playing horrible and insipid football. A week before that that conceded 6 goals against Perth Glory.

The point is this season is far from over and I wouldn’t be counting your chickens before they hatch.

I’m watching Perth and City with a lot of interest at the moment.

Highlights: Wanderers join Roar on top of A-League

Zero, zilch, nada!

It's about time we got over our cultural cringe

I don’t think that’s the issue. I think the issue is those who are offended by the team being called “Caltex Socceroos”. That’s it.

Socceroos take petro-dollars as Postecoglou eyes new faces

Some people miss that point Kaks. The other thing people seem to forget is they can still refer to the Socceroos as such or Australia. Allow the PR and promotion of a naming rights sponsor for like you said it will only benefit the game financially.
