Thanx but it’s not the journalists’ fault that Kyrgios and others get so much coverage. Players like him attract crowds, TV ratings and readers – which is why tournament promoters, TV execs and those dastardly reporter types follow him closely

About time Australia rallied behind Demon as Open campaign heats up

The first one was about the stupidity of just calling themselves The Dolphins. This one is about how hard it’s going to be to build a decent roster. Unfortunately for them the other clubs have locked in the best talent for at least a couple of years so it seems they’ll be relying on players requesting releases

Dolphins must start targeting younger players but only three Origin players on market

It would be absurd to suggest there was any suggestion that they should have a full roster by now. A sniff means a hint of, not duplicate of. As the story says most teams have a few oldies but balance it out with younger talent.

That is also a key part of this problem. Empowering the umpires to step in more and backing them up when they do so

Eleven ways to speed up Test cricket - time to cut out the wasted hours

A good idea is a good idea. And that’s a good idea

It’s almost like the English batters in particular were using it as a stalling tactic in Sydney

Dragons are a strong chance. Don’t think Cowboys will end with spoon. Warriors always combustible. Knights a smokey if Ponga gets injured

NRL 2022 Radar: Best and worst case scenario for EVERY team

In a vacuum Langer should be reappointed based on recent results but over the term of his contract the team has not fulfilled its potential in all 3 formats

If Langer is a goner, Ponting must be next in line

If the senior players wanted Langer re-signed it would have happened by now

Schoupp could definitely get a start in round 1 as one of Canterbury’s few incumbents who had a decent season

Waiting an extra year to get Reed Mahoney will be worth it

The NRL doesn’t need more rule changes as fans will arc up. They actually need to make this rule tweak because this innovation was being exploited. Coaches will exploit any new rule to their advantage. Approval rating for 6-again is plummeting.

NRL needs to tread carefully with fans about ongoing rule changes

I can’t speak for Paul Sutton but I know what I saw. I’m not saying their attack wasn’t great which it was but they pushed the envelope when it came down to holding down defenders

I’m a Sharks fan and they took advantage of the wrestle. As did the Storm the following year.

In the immortal words of Kristy, I heartily endorse this event or product.

Forget about Warnings, resilient Starc's career makes him an all-time great

Yes, it’s almost like implying most teams were doing the same thing and then once the Australian trio were made the scapegoats, they stopped using these dodgy tactics because they feared their punishment would be in the same ballpark

Lack of outrage shows Smith’s Sandpaper punishment was way too harsh

He has his eccentricities but I think you are being harsh labelling him an “immature incomplete fruitcake”. Marnus is not everyone’s cup of tea but he needs to be given a chance to captain Qld to see if he can be a leader and then he will be in the frame for the Test captaincy in a few years

Lack of outrage shows Smith’s Sandpaper punishment was way too harsh

You are possibly right but I think a lot of people after the fact have claimed Smith was a poor leader. He didn’t do a bad job with tactics and results, and his players spoke well of him, which cannot be said about Michael Clarke before him.

Lack of outrage shows Smith’s Sandpaper punishment was way too harsh

Integrity is essential. If everyone who makes a mistake once is ruled out of any sort of promotion, it would make for a very small talent pool in whichever profession you apply that to.

They rate Cotter highly. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him start at lock with Taumalolo at prop at some stage

NRL 2022 Radar: Cowboys need to get bang from star duo's megabucks

It’s not crowing, it’s telling it like it is. This match may technically still be live but England’s chances are all but dead

Batters are definitely part of the problem – the drinks break each hour is borderline redundant because every player on the field in international cricket has usually had several drinks ferried to them on field since the last break or the boundary riders dip into the eskies left around the perimeter whenever they want

Test cricket needs free hit rule to cut down on no-balls and time wasting

Broad in England v Broad in Australia is like Federer at Wimbledon v Federer on clay. Still OK but not the same player

Why England should avoid picking both Broad and Anderson for second Test

Good logic here. Must be the name
