Rugby lover and Wallabies fan, but late to the game, becoming a real fan 5 or so years ago when in my mid thirties . From Perth, living in France.

Yeah he was great right away defensively. Leadership, smarts and discipline right away

Super Rugby teams round 10: Marky Mark replaces Pietsch, Rebels' LSL blow, Flook boost for Reds, Alaalatoa to start

Interesting second and backrow decisions for the Waratahs especially given the quality of the opponents.

Big shame re LSL. Plausibly a blessing in disguise though. He has done a lot of work in the last two months and might arrive fresher and more fired up for Wallabies camp

Most interested to see Rodda, Carter and Beale back it up.

Short memory there a little. Indifferent run of form this year, and not for the first time but he’s put in some great test performances.
Having said that if I were Coleman I would move on from him now rather than in a month or so.

Brumbies to welcome back Wallabies duo for 'Canes clash after week of soul-searching, Tahs to tweak side for Chiefs

I think he’s been pretty good. Still adapting but has shown some real power

Beale ran good lines and looked confident. Hard to see him threatening Kellaway or Wright though, who is a fair bit stronger and more balanced in the tackle.

Five things: What Beale has over other golden oldies, double pain for Brumbies as Blues expose Australia's biggest weakness

He still looks just a little heavy for mine, but he is still a massive unit even if he trims down. The way he is always reading and adjusting as part of the defensive line stands out. Hard and smart worker

With Wright probably in the 23

Beale, Rodda shine on Super Rugby return as Force smash Crusaders to keep finals hopes alive

Starting for La Rochelle – probably a better team than the Wallabies at their best – but couldn’t get a game for the Waratahs last year. Will be interesting to hear what happened there.

Aussie-born England capped rake Nic Dolly signs with Force ... and he'll soon be eligible for the Wallabies

Vailanu is alright. Moves faster than most hookers too

I think Faessler has looked pretty good. I’ll be comfortable if he’s marched out at 2 for the Wallabies in July

He kicks straight but apart from that he just hasn’t looked comfortable playing 10 even at Super level. His first season he did but since then, not so much. Gordon is tougher both ways.

Five things: Lesson Aussie rugby can learn from Kiwis - and why next month will determine whether SR gap has closed

I think Mcreight’s definitely was one you just can’t do. 3 weeks minimum deserved.

McDermott’s was too but I think the provocative fend to the throat and how soft his contact was should be taken into account for a short suspension.

Lesser indiscretions shouldn’t be completely ignored and forgotten when there’s a bigger one.

'Brain explosion': Wallaby stars sent off as Queensland left red-faced in Moana Pasifika shocker

Hard to see how a bloke who’s played 90 tests is arrogant in saying he wants to play more.

He’s 35, not 55 and he’s saying he wants to play, not that he’s a sure thing.

What Joe Schmidt told Kurtley Beale about his Wallabies future

And not only. I think he has improved tackling and over the ball while in France.

Huge coup sees Wallabies hooker coming home to Super Rugby on long-term deal, with World Cup in sights

Meanwhile that Reds’ prop a few weeks back got a longer suspension for getting his tackle just slightly wrong.

Rugby News: Beale 'laser focused' on Wallabies return, coach fury at ban for 'malicious' headbutt

Yeah he owes his teammates that.

Looking back though I can’t recall any point where I’d think Rennie or Jones had to pick him based on form. But when they did, yeah he did rise to the occasion.

I guess he needs to see every match as ‘the occasion’.

Super Rugby teams round 8: Tahs drop Marky Mark, Kellaway returns for Rebels, HMP replaces Lynagh

It’s not the first time his Super form has been mediocre for a while. I’d say generally he’s been a better test than Super player.

Super Rugby teams round 8: Tahs drop Marky Mark, Kellaway returns for Rebels, HMP replaces Lynagh

I’ve wondered for a while why he doesn’t play backrow. He’s never been a great scrummager

'Insane and total stupidity': Drua have two SENT OFF as Rebels score 33 unanswered points to win again

Haven’t seen this one yet but the TMO let a fair bit go for them in the 2nd half against the Waratahs too a few weeks back.

Lomani needs to pull his head in it seems. Ripped into Nice White out of nowhere too last week.

'Insane and total stupidity': Drua have two SENT OFF as Rebels score 33 unanswered points to win again

I forgot he won the player of the year.

Fair bit better achievements and better comments from him than the comment threads we roarers have put together here. 😂

'Incredible' Hoops backed to do better than Boks legend who 'failed abysmally' in sevens switch

Does Habana have a cupboard full?

'Incredible' Hoops backed to do better than Boks legend who 'failed abysmally' in sevens switch

Waratahs lost by 3 to the Drua, 2 to the Highlanders, 2 to the Blues (though that score really flattered them).
Marginal differences in gameplay and they have two more wins.

Having said that, I think the parts are greater than the sum there. Whether that’s Coleman’s fault, I have no idea.

Rugby Australia kicks off review into Waratahs as pressure mounts on Coleman ahead of Brumbies clash

Not saying he’s put together more good games but he’s been good and has some strengths that it wouldn’t be shocking to see Joe prefer.

Super Rugby teams round 7: Bell returns but Tahs hooker gone for season, Jack back for Brums, Rebels' Leota blow

I’ve been disappointed by Petaia. I thought for a few years that if he could just stay healthy he’d be en elite back but he’s been inconsistent. I’d like to hear he was going to sign for a few years in top 14, Prem or especially URC. I’m sure he’d come back a better Wallaby

'Best place for me': Wallaby-in-waiting Jorgensen commits to Aussie rugby in boost ahead of Lions series

I do realise that, but on the TMO it seemed like he just decided to let it go in this match. Incidents that’d usually get pulled up (compared to in other matches) didn’t. I was watching it on replay so i could take a second look at how late or high stuff was.

The Wrap: Wallaby's brain fade that cost the Tahs, con job worthy of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
