Punta in 03-04 was next cab off the rank.

Top five Test series by Australian batsmen

I imagine we’ll be seeing Laxman’s double in the 2001 2nd test and Lara’s match winning knock in 99 in the top 6. KP at the Oval in 05 and Amla in Perth 08-09 could also get a look in.

AndyMack I thought the SL test series was a bit of a fizz as Sri Lanks were a tad disappointing (would have loved to have seen a bit ton from Sanga on Boxing Day).
Peter Senior’s victory was a great achievement, as was the Djoker’s, however I thought the open lacked a tiny bit of spark without Rafa. He was definitely next cab off the rank.

Top 10 highlights of the Australian sporting summer

Hauritz is a more than capable batsmen. Don’t forget that after he was dropped for Xavier Doherty before the 2010-11 ashes, he then made 2 shield century’s as well as taking his 1st shield 5 wicket haul. The fact he was not reinstated into the team that summer is a disgrace. Thankfully Andrew Hilditch is no longer around.

Australia's best individual innings by bowlers since 2009 (pt I)

I like the idea of a competition between the top clubs in QLD, NSW and ACT, and I don’t think VIC should be discounted either. The only problem here would be clubs such as Uni in NSW, UQ or Jeeps in Brisbane, or Melbourne in VIC would use their extra cash and standing to pull colts and leading players from the smaller clubs, creating too big a talent and money gap in these leagues.

Australian rugby's third tier: the options

Top 7 for me since 1970 for me would be: 1. Hayden 2. Cook 3. Lara 4. Tendulkar 5. Kallis 6. Vic Richards 7. Gilchrist
Top Aussie 7 would be: 1. Hayden 2. Langer 3. Ponting 4. Greg Chappell 5. Steve Waugh 6. Border 7. Gilchrist

The greatest Test batsman since 1970: part one

I know Australia want to keep Siddle fresh as long form cricketer, but surely he should be part of our one day squad. I can’t see the sense if giving 2 guys debuts in the same game when you have a world class bowler in the wings. Get Siddle in the one day squad!

Peter Siddle is the heart of soul of Australian cricket

Curlty Ambrose has probably been the most destructive bowler I have seen. His action, pace and bounce used to scare me just watching.

Who is the greatest fast bowler of the past 40 years?

I think the World Club Challenge is a great concept but maybe the venue should be rotated each year between England and Australia to promote the game more here. You would probably see close to a sell out if the Storm hosted the match at AAMI Park.

Is it time to scrap the World Club Challenge?
