Doubt it. Tigers best 22 for Round 1 a much better Team than last year, Carlton’s best 22 the same or maybe a lesser Team. Tigers are rightfully favourites.

My point was that it’s not totally in Carlton’s control to “never let such disappointments occur again.”
If it was, they would have been able to avoid last year’s mistakes and ineptitude which saw them finish a disappointing Ninth.

That would be believable if their destiny was totally up to them but there will be 17 other Teams fighting for a win each week and a spit in the 8. Even if the Blues do play to their potential they may still finish Ninth again!

Dangers’ struggle with his ego often clouds his judgement and causes him to do and say things that are not aligned with good leadership.
The overly sensitive Cat Supporters here ignore this trait. Stewart really was the obvious choice, however Scott is obviously completely in Dangers thrall.

Poor choice in my books. Stewart would have been a much better option as he generally shows humility, whereas Danger often struggles to keep his ego in check.

There are just no Captains at Essendon. Same as they have no quality Board Members, Administrators or genuine Team vibe. The repair job at Bomber Land is huge.

The fact that the most dissappointing team in the AFL, Won-nothing-mantle, have yet to actually win a Premiership shows how hard it is to do so… the Tigers have won 3 of the last 6 with Lynch a massive reason why they lifted the Cup in ’19 & ’20!

I generally don’t buy into these Top 50 lists since they are terribly subjective, but I did enjoy the video footage of Dusty tearing the Cats a new one in the 2020 GF, especially his 4th, where he picked Stanley’s pocket, then symbolically shrugged Danger into the Gabba gutter before snapping yet another miraculous goal. I remember how excited I was on that night, sending messages to my ‘friends’ making sure they had seen it.

Very true Cat. The Team, aka Won-nothing-mantle, will be one of the big sliders this year. Apart from maybe the Bombers, Freo have been the most disappointing Team in the AFL for a long time.
