Love AFL, not interested in any other sports really. Have attended a dozen or so grand finals in my life, none of which I have had to pay to get in. (Work that out yourself). Collingwood tragic and member.

AFL Trade Period power rankings: Super Swans, Docker shocker, and the best deal in Gold Coast's history

Exactly. Any one of Giants, Lions, Blues, Pies or Demons could have won this year. It was truly a flag up for grabs.

Giants were a free kick off a GF. Right in the window.

I guess Jack leaving is another reason for the opposition supporters to hate us that bit less?
Who’s our only hated player now? Bruzzy Maynard?
'Jack's decision': Pies deny forcing Ginnivan out as goalsneak heads to Hawks
The 2011 team was awesome George but the Cats beat us three times. Hawks were also coming and nearly did us in the preliminary too.
'The level of delusion is something else': Eddie McGuire's defence of his disastrous coaching succession plan is ridiculous
No one will ever know. People can point out errors Mick made in that 2011 GF too. Time to move on. In some ways it’s the beauty and romance and unpredictability of footy. For example, do the Pies win 2023 without losing 2018? I think not.

Love Tay PD. No ill will. Champion bloke.
The Swans have already won the trade period - and it's set them up perfectly for another crack at a flag
Pies leading goals this year.

Who is to say ? Hearing now he made the call after injury around preliminary final time before fitness test

Sport can be cruel. To see Tay Adams denied a flag after ten years of impeccable service by an injury in the final 2 weeks of his Pies career was heartbreaking. He is a competitive beast, ferocious clearance player and wishing him the best. He will fit in very well at the Swans. Teammates and coaches will love him.

“Give me a spate of flags and twenty years of mediocrity over twenty years of contending without winning one.”
Not for me. I don’t want to spend 20 years with the season over at round 18 and looking at draft picks. Life is short. You might depart in the 19th mediocre year and miss them all. I love to contend as deep as we can every year. Geelong do it marvellously and bookended 2 flags eventually 2011-2022 and have 4 since 2007. That’s my model thanks. Scott Pendlebury said it beautifully recently. “The most agonising season for me is not losing a GF by 5 points but being out of finals altogether by round 18 and watching on from the sidelines. That’s the waste, the hurt.”.
The fact is you need to have emotional risk for the ultimate reward.
One flag isn't enough, the Pies should stuff their face
Pies love creating empty space forward with smalls running high up the ground then breaking fast back. What’s Schultz pace like? As for Ginnivan, a quiet GF, has trained higher up the ground. Will be an interesting watch. I wouldn’t mind seeing Noble play forward either with his pace and desperate defence. His height or lack of his only weakness.

Ah who cares it’s just water of an all duck no dinners back .

Ash isn’t fit enough Don and needs to work on his defensive game. Adams is a warrior and will be sorely missed. Noble is just unlucky with Markov tipping him out.
'Required player and leader': Pies' blunt response as vice-captain, GF heartbreak story requests trade
Nearly won 2018 off his own boot. So close Adams 😔

Brilliantly said Kevo. Completely agree. I wonder if pick 23 gets it done. Jack Buller may be of interest.

Yeah Allan’s another looks promising Kevo, like him. Agreed, Ash has to get fit. Reef big potential too.

A good point Kevo. I wonder if the temptation is still there for Bucks?

Ironically the Bombers looked at Mason a couple of years back I believe!

I’d go a step further Knoxy with medals to any player who plays a senior game during the year but it’s just my opinion.

Fantastic Knoxy. That bounce, Cox, Nick D, (twice), Pendlebury and JDG to get us back in front, will be replayed as much as the Dom Sheed laser accurate goal.
Amazing Dakes: Josh Daicos pips Nick for shock Collingwood best and fairest win, Maynard ties for second
I feel bad for Bucks. He will always be the close but no cigar. In hindsight, the club needed to move him on and now, if we did grab another flag next couple of years, we may well have turned one lost flag in 2018 to multiples a few years later. Will never know I guess.
'USA! USA! USA!': The premiership-winning journey of Mason Cox is doing more than just charming the Americans
Frodo I’d say Cox, Moore and JDG would all be gone if Bucks stayed.

The Gabba away final for sure was the worst card to get Pete. They would have beaten us up there too.
