Amen, Geoff. I agree whole heartedly with everything said. Don’t overlook Starling, he can defend well, presents the ball well from dummy half & is fast. Damien Cook like. We need him to come on 10 minutes before halftime. We will be a much better team without Jarrod, Jack & most importantly Ricky.

Ricky’s embarrassed, about what? The Raiders have been playing ‘Shi- like this all season, he is the reason, there is no attack whatsoever. It was shown by the Raiders of 2016 & 2019 that to beat the better defence sides you have to move the ball across the field continuously so that their ‘set’ defensive line can’t form. Manly did it for the first quarter of the game against Penrith on Thursday night & Penrith were uncomfortable. But Ricky has chosen to play a totally predictable game in the middle third of the field where the better teams are continually set, we have had five tackles in a row one pass from the ruck, over & over again. We are 4th last in points scored for the season. Equal 5th for points conceded after this Shi- show against Melbourne. We have a squad that is very good, we have our most consistent player, Tom Starling coming on in the 55th minute of the game, generally when it’s over. Here’s an idea, bring him on 10-15 before half times. Starling re-signs for another couple of years & get’s dropped to reserve grade. Our starting hooker is about as good in that role as our Coach is in his, Shi-. I hate banging on & on about Ricky but that’s the only problem with the Raiders. They are a good team being lead by an incompetent, know it all. Is he fair dinkum, seriously, he was disappointed with today’s result. I knew that was what we were going to get. Why shouldn’t we get flogged, we have played the same game every week this year. The only good news today was Jarrod Croker has retired. He’s done well over his career, congratulations to him, he was a good player & leader. He just got too slow & can’t really defend in the 2023 game.

Geoff, I feel your pain. As a fan all I expect is for the team to have a red hot go. I really don’t care if we win or loose. Winning’s great, but if we try our best & loose, so be it. For the life of me I can’t understand why in the first 10 minutes of the game our forwards aren’t hurting the opposition in defence. Look at our team, they don’t they appear listless & going through their paces. Why, why, why does Tom Starling sit on the bench for 55 minutes??????? Bring him on at least 15 minutes before half time, he is quick, can defend & adds spark to the side. Woolford wouldn’t get a start at the Queenbeyan Blues reserve grade if he wasn’t one of Ricky’s favourites.
Jarrod Croker, good on you for playing 300 games. You have done a good job, your however unable to defend at NRL level, your too slow & don’t pass the ball, on the rare occasion that you do, it’s caught by the winger as he is bundled into touch. You are on allegedly 700K, you may get a start in Regies at Queenbeyan if your lucky. If they re-sign Jarrod next year I’m done.
Savage is the one back who is a real threat in attack, however regardless of his current injury, there was no hope of him being picked in the side. Why, why, why.
I think I know the answer. Ricky really can’t coach. He has no idea, never has, never will. Ricky can’t be told, he is always right & if things don’t turn out he honestly believes that it’s everyone else’s fault. Ricky plays favourites, he never picks the best team on form. The Raiders squad overall is very good. Starling, CHN, Mooney & Savage are must’s for this side into the future. I really think that if Ricky didn’t train the squad at all during the week they couldn’t play any worse. Could they?
There is no attack whatsoever in the Raiders. It is embarrassing. Ricky you are embarrassing. Ever thought about quitting?

Ricky is the problem, for one of the best half backs in his era Ricky doesn’t appear to be able to coach a half or 5/8. The Raiders need a Adam Reynolds, Nathan Cleary. That’s all that’s missing. A game controlling halfback who can kick well, drop kick when needed, get repeat sets & kick accurate bombs. Ricky was the last Raiders halfback that could do that. I can see that Trindall from Cronulla has those attributes. I believe that is family are from Narrabri, so he’s a country bloke who should thrive in the ACT….. I know that he just re-sighned with the Sharks for another couple of years, but what does that mean. Ricky has had his time, how about let our able assistant have another go. Mr Michael McGuire? He has a similar history to Ricky, coached a grand final side & shortly thereafter was shafted. While ever Ricky is at the Raiders playing favourites, not reacting to what is really happening. Not accepting blame, the Raiders are shot. A new voice is what’s needed. I’m really happy with the squad we have minus Jack with the game controlling halfback added.

2019 from memory a Mr L Mitchell won the game for the Roosters. I think he had a 3 on his back.
