Losing three on the trot is bad enough but conceding 112 points in 3 games makes it worse. They were not in the same class as Easts, comprehensively outplayed except for about 10 minutes in part two. JD will be a worried man.

Demetriou has 'no doubt' he can turn around Souths after disaster derby sees Latrell binned in Roosters riot

Cam, here’s one Saints supporter who would prefer Mitchell plays for any team but Saints. He’s a human headline who has the talent to be a great footy player but would rather be a showman.

'I won’t explain my reasoning': Demetriou curt on Ilias and Latrell questions as Cook demotion looms

What Mitchell ought to consider next time he is interviewed post game is the sponsorship dollars poured into his club and the game in general. He most likely has private sponsorship as well. How the sponsors feel about it we probably won’t know but it is food for thought for Latrell.

NRL News: Souths start Latrell swear jar as Mansour takes aim at 'f--ing bulls--t’ Demetriou

I’ve been trying for the last half hour to think of something positive to post about Saints. All I can think of is they kept Redcliffe to a mere 38 points scored.

Hammer deserves Dally M votes this time around as Dolphins demolish Dragons in dramatic turnaround for both teams

When Latrell came back from his re-hab trip to America, he said he wanted to be a showman. He would be better off trying to be a footballer first. That radio interview showed his vocabulary is restricted and he’s proud of it.

'I don't care if I'm swearing': Latrell set to escape NRL sanctions despite foul-mouthed radio interview

Good comment. I’ve replayed it multiple times to etch it into the memory bank. It’s one I never want to forget.

The best try ever? Coates pulls off miracle in last minute to steal win from Warriors in stone cold classic

How Melbourne won that game is the 7th wonder of Rugby League thanks to Xavier Coates or Exavier as that dolt Michael Ennis calls him. This round has produced two of the best tries a RL fan could wish to see with Reece Walsh scoring the first and Coates tonight. Great RL.

The best try ever? Coates pulls off miracle in last minute to steal win from Warriors in stone cold classic

No Justin Olam for Wests. Is he injured? Good to see Benji give the youngster, Galvin a go. The two halves lack experience but could make up for it with talent. Looking forward to this game especially after Canberra’s effort last week.

NRL Round 2 Team Lists: Foxx OUT for Dogs, Sharks call up debutant for sick prop, Benji rolls dice, Wayne wields axe

Wayne left something at home today for sure. His team looked like a bunch of players thrown together for a trial game. As much as they tried, very little came of it. Maybe Wayne has lost his gloss, but, it’s only R1.

Bizarre Hammer blunder and penalty try raise eyebrows as Cowboys ride roughshod over dreadful Dolphins

Good comments Jimmmy. You have a gem of a centre in Laybutt, a real prospect. I only wish the game would go back to centres playing alongside of each other. He and Val would be a real strike pair. As for big JT, I think the modern game has passed him by, maybe time to look at the Super League to top up his super. Comp leaders, can’t complain about that.

Sheek, you amaze me at times!!

Fittler wants players who've criticised Leniu to face sanctions for influencing judiciary, Gallen slams 'hysteria'

Fittler comes across as a tad odd at times with his barefoot walks through the grass to feel the earth’s energy. I just walked barefoot in my backyard and all I felt was the need for a beer. Then there are times when I partly agree with him like him saying players should support Ezra by giving him a call rather than go social media. Disclaimer here, I am no fan of social media.
As for saying players should be sanctioned for expressing opinions, we do have freedom of speech in our country. Also, he, by saying this could be showing lack of confidence in the judiciary, thinking they are easily influenced. With no coaching job nowadays Freddy is a commentator so he has to earn his salary.

We will bask in our moment of glory while we can.

Flanno trumps Des as Sloan fires Dragons to statement win over Titans

Whoa, hang on a tick GB. It’s only round 1 so cut them a bit of slack. When Ciraldo starts looking tired Gould will give him a rest like he did to Cleary. Gus has all the answers.

Parra start the Carty Party to power past Dogs as 'broken' Foxx trots off with suspected AC joint

That was a great game, mistakes and all. Those errors were because of relentless pressure from both sides, smothering defence. Nathan Cleary was off his game and I put that down to no protection from Yeo on the last tackle kick. Yeo was the master of protection for Cleary until the new enforcement on blockers from the refs. Despite the result, Penrith will be right up there come finals time as they are so well coached. A month or so ago on another thread I said Melbourne would make the eight but around the bottom. I may have to rescind that comment.

Storm warning for competition as Bellamy's streak continues, Panthers question Bunker

Ezra has his reasons for not accepting an apology, reasons we will probably never know. No doubt he is being guided through this episode and is treading carefully. The whole scenario could be difficult to handle and maybe he’s laying low until it settles down somewhat. As for Leniu, it’s wrong what he did and he will carry the stigma of racism for the rest of his career and rightfully so. His club’s press statement seemed to me to be a carefully planned tactic hoping to soften the blow. I just wish it never happened, especially during a game in a foreign country

Shock twist in racism saga as Mam responds to Leniu's apology for monkey taunt

Ditto, they were a blight on the game.

NRL's kick restart rule helps bring back another genuine contest but what about scrums, it isn't fair

“should have stayed on the field.” Rosie back in the last century, the last millenium, that was the go then. However we are now in a modern age and racial slurs are simply unacceptable. As for Ezra being a snitch, I feel many will think the opposite for him calling Leniu out.

NRL News: Leniu pleads guilty to monkey racial slur, apologises to Mam - 'I said the word but I didn't mean it in a racist way'

Strewth sheek, I remember the time you made a decent comment or two. What happened?

NRL News: Leniu pleads guilty to monkey racial slur, apologises to Mam - 'I said the word but I didn't mean it in a racist way'

Looks like the club has done their homework and decided Leniu wouldn’t get off. The apology, the remorse, the acknowledging of Mam’s heritage could all go in favour of a reduced suspension although I don’t think it should. A very strong message must be sent out to all those associated with the NRL that comments like this have no place in our game.

NRL News: Leniu pleads guilty to monkey racial slur, apologises to Mam - 'I said the word but I didn't mean it in a racist way'

I’d leave everything as it is. It’s an established game branching into a new market so it’s up to the newbies to accept it. If Americans like the product they will learn all the terminology, RL, try etc.

Rugby league needs a new name but what can you call it to stand out in football’s confusingly crowded landscape of codes?

Sam, Tom and George Burgess playing for Souths would probably be the latest trio of brothers to do so. I have a feeling Luke played a game or two with the others to make it four brothers.

NRL Round 1 talking points: That was great, let’s try it again!

Not just you Ben.

'NRL better deal with this s--t', says Latrell: Mam accuses Leniu of 'monkey' racial slur as Roosters outmuscle Broncos

I only saw the second half and the first 10 minutes Latrell was on fire then the flame went out.

I don’t think he’s quite smart enough to be a peasant.
