Relatively big call by Sampson, but I think it’s the right one.

Hard to sit the local heroes down

Super Rugby AU Round 3 team line-ups: Changes aplenty across the board

If you’re talking motorsport surely Valentino Rossi needs to be mentioned as well

The GOAT: Who really is the greatest athlete of our generation?

Was there a reason the rebels were playing in their pyjamas?

Six talking points from Super Rugby AU and Aotearoa

I can’t think of a single Rugby Union or League player whose playing style was so special that tactical plays or individual brilliance led to plays being named after them.

Well, rugby doesn’t really work like that, but you could include the Garry Owen kick I suppose.

They changed the laws of the game more than once due to Richie’s dominance though

Brady isn’t even the best quarterback in the league now, let alone all time.
His claim to fame is winning not being the best player, for example. In the playoff game against Green Bay he was outplayed in all measurable qb facets by Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. Yet the buccaneers still won.

I’m not saying he’s not a great player, but if he can be in the discussion for goat purely on what Americans call “winningness”, then surely Richie McCaw and Dan Carter and even Brad Thorn are ahead of him.

Ok mate, you believe that if you want, those of us with eyes will go with what happened

Is Brad Thorn our next Wallabies coach?

The very best, Neutral

Rightio then, nothing’s ever simple is it?

still reckon an xbox is the way to go – I run all my streaming apps through mine

Hell, my amateur gridiron team has it’s games streamed.

SANZAAR are the Blockbuster Video of the sporting world

Stan says that live-streaming won’t work with pre-2016 Samsung TVs. No explanation. Mine is a 2015 set unfortunately.

Doesn’t sound right to me my TV is much older than that. Assume they are referring to accessing the app
– get yourself an xbox, install Stan – Bob’s your uncle

The way he flattened Cooper after he kneed Richie in the head was pretty graceful

Biggest clanger ref made was disallowing a brumby try after a forward pass when it was clearly backwards out of the hand and then floated forward.

What annoyed me about that phase was that the Brumbies maul sat motionless, held by the Force for a good 10 seconds and there was no ‘use it’ instruction given, he just let them sit there going nowhere.

Force struggle with whistle-happy ref

Could he do it?
I’m sure he’d be fine

Would he?
I doubt it.

Queensland is one thing – but can anyone really see him in Wallaby gold at a Bledisloe Cup?

Spot on EFF – it’s ridiculous that this is still the way things work

Is it time to reconsider dumping the National Rugby Championship?

Ok I’ll have to think of a better name.

I mean it could be like the no Homers club (we’re allowed one)

Forrest is the descendant of the closest thing there is to WA nobility and I think he feels he has a responsibility to do what he can for the state.

I’ll be honest I came away pretty dirty after the Force Brumbies game – there was a real feel at the ground that the refereeing was over zealous at some points and killed the game.
Having watched the replay now, I can see the Force’s main issue wasn’t giving away penalties, but giving away one, then another shortly after – something I hope they are working on this week. There were promising signs, and a couple of bright spots.
I thought the way the Force countered the Brumbies maul was mostly pretty good, they had obviously prepared to face it and handled it well.

Overall though. Richard Kahui summed up my feelings pretty well with his half time chat, not good enough for a team with this much experience.

National Except NSW Rugby Comp!

Is it time to reconsider dumping the National Rugby Championship?

You can bag nsw players all you like but these franchises would be non existent without nsw.

See that tiny spot way above your head?

That’s the point flying by

You may receive an invite to play in the revamped NEFNSWRC

Agree with this, Mitchell tried to add context etc but seemed too often to fall back on the old “backs are different to forwards ho ho”.

Harrison would be good for a new viewer to listen to I think

I know it’s all about money, but I mean, they’ve made it pretty clear they don’t want to take part.
They’ve done nothing but bloody moan about it from day one.
Fine – keep your local comp, the rest of us are moving on

Is it time to reconsider dumping the National Rugby Championship?

Definitely.
I’ll leave it there

Force struggle with whistle-happy ref

Could we not just keep the NRC and leave NSW out of it?

Whistle happy is one way of putting it.
